Enjoy your stay at this comfortable chalet-style home, located less than 3 miles from both Higgins and Houghton Lakes!

Nestled in a wooded neighborhood, this home features 3 bedrooms + sleeping loft, 3 full bathrooms, and both a living room and family room for relaxing with up to 10 guests. This Michigan getaway has everything you need to make lasting memories with family and friends!

The 2,100+ square foot interior features 3 bedrooms plus a sleeping loft, 3 bathrooms, and both living and family rooms with Smart TVs for logging into your own streaming accounts. The kitchen is well-equipped, and dining room can seat up to 10 with additional table leaf & chairs. The home has forced heat, central air, and a wall AC unit upstairs. Washer & dryer also available for guest use.

The exterior features a hot tub, fire pit, front deck with seating, koi pond (covered seasonally), and a spacious driveway for guest vehicles and/or toy trailers (no campers per township regulation). The hot tub is advertised for 7 people but we find 5-6 most comfortable. A gas grill is also available for guest use.

Great oaks

This house was very clean and cozy! It had everything we needed for our stay plus much more! It fit our families needs perfectly!

Great Place!

We had a great time! The kids loved the pond with the fish and the frogs and loved feeding them each day. It’s super close to both Higgins and Houghton lake and was perfect for our day trips to the lake! Would for sure stay there again!

Just as listed!

We had a group of 8 adults for a 2 week stay. There was plenty of room in the driveway for all the vehicles and our 24 ft boat. All the amenities of home are provided for a comfortable stay. The loft got quite warm on the hot Summer days, however, we utilized the fans provided to stay cool. Definitely will be booking again!

Winter getaway

We had a great stay at great oaks cottage. It was the perfect size for our two families, had all the necessities, and lots of extras like the hot tub, games, wood burning stove, grill, and sleds for our use. Bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. We appreciated the quick communication and easy checkin/check out process. Overall the perfect spot for a winter getaway! Thanks

Great house and amenities!

Had such a great time at this wonderful establishment for the weekend with friends. House is convenient whether coming from 127 or I-75. This house had so much room, three bathrooms, and plenty of parking. We cooked all weekend using the well stocked kitchen and the gas grill. A cozy fire in the wood burner created a great setting for spending time with friends on a cold weekend. And it doesn’t get better than ending your night in the hot tub! Laura was a great host and wonderful at communicating. Highly recommend this rental!

My husband and I bought this property as our dream "up-north" getaway and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Higgins Lake is one of our favorite places in the world, so the location couldn't get much better! This area of Michigan has so much to offer in every season, and it's a breath of fresh air to step away from the normal stresses and obligations of home life. We enjoy every day at Great Oaks Cottage and believe that our guests will too!
