Quick trip to the river.
We had a great trip to the River. The house was not really , what was posted on VRBO but we had a great time.
This was our 4th stay at this property and it won’t be our last. Nice property! Very peaceful with nice neighbors. Great location on the river to fish.
Could not have found a more perfect spot to stay. The views and location were second to none. My husband, son and I were able to take the short walk down to the river every night and morning to do some fishing. And we loved being able to drink our morning coffee while looking at the river. The house had everything you needed as well and checking in/out was super easy. We definitely will be back!!
This was one of the best rentals we've stayed in on the White River. The house is nice and the location can't get much better. The river was pretty low most of our stay which allowed us to wade out and catch quite a few fish, mostly rainbows but we did catch one really nice brown trout right behind the house. Would definitely recommend staying here.
My husband, 9-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son had a wonderful time relaxing in the nice house and fishing in the river right off the backyard despite the chilly, rainy conditions. Every wants to come back for spring break!
My uncle has been going to the white river for 41yrs and we took him for his 66yr b-day this year as a surprise. The house was excellent (except for the broken fridge/freezer) and the weather was spectacular. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone that wants to take in the majesty of the white river.
What an amzing lake house right the white river. You can enjoy a house full of light and all the items you need like you are home. Will look forward to staying there again!
Only comment I would reccomend updatung druving directions turn toward Stetsons sign or across from the general store. From there the 2 forks in the road and stay right.
We came for Turkey Trot, but ended up staying at the house the entire time. It was the perfect size for us for our group. It was well stocked with some items that you don’t find in most rental properties. It was very clean, the beds were super comfortable. We enjoyed coffee every morning watching the trout fishing on the river. One of our friends almost got ran over by a deer one evening sitting outside!!!! We will definitely be returning.
The home and property are well cared for and clean. The hosts have a great attention to detail in the items available for your use while there from kitchen utensils to games and blankets. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the access to the water. It appeared that the area was rather flat in the pictures and fishing from the bank would be no issue. Instead it is on a hill and the area where you could bank fish was flooded. I know that is out of control of the hosts, however, it would be nice to know this ahead of time and why I am sharing it here. We may very well be back, but, we will be back with waders and the needed equipment to fish the White River in the water not from a dry bank. The water is quite chilly by the way, you will need insulated waders.
Nice property and nice location, however, the Kitchen really needs some attention. Whenever you open the dishwasher, the dishwasher comes with it. It is not anchored to the cabinet properly. Also, the Kitchen is in DESPERATE need of new pots and pans and cooking utensils. There is only on metal spatula and using it on teflon pans means the pans wear out prematurely. The basting brush bristles disintegrated on my BBQ chicken as I was applying BBQ sauce to the cooking chicken. The knives are as dull as they could be.
In a nutshell, this place is rather beyond words due to its location. The house is laid out perfectly for a family of 6. We had three kiddos ranging from 8 to 14 and they loved the loft area. It is really well stocked, and you don't need to take a thing with you! The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 stars is the owners really need to invest in some new appliances. Not having a full-size refrigerator with a family there made it difficult to menu plan on what we had room for in the small fridge. The vent over the range does not work, not even the lights so you could see what you are cooking. The washing machine needs special directions to make it work. It was all doable, but with a new appliance package, this place would be perfect. The view and the river were absolutely amazing. Such easy access for all of us. The ticks were on us fast though. Granules would help with that. The kids stayed down at the river playing and we kept a jigsaw puzzle going the entire time. The only other suggestion I would make is please invest in a nice full-size mattress for the bottom bunk upstairs. As the mature person in the group, it was the obvious place for me to sleep & sleeping on a box spring with a topper on it was a back breaker. A nice mattress would make that a good choice for 1 or 2 adults to sleep. We cannot wait to go back! The fish were not biting as it was unseasonably warm. The owner was wonderful to work with! We loved every minute of it!
This was our 3rd year at this property. Always a pleasure as the location is beautiful and convenient. The house is always very clean and orderly with all kinds of extras. Will for sure come again.
Our family of 5 adults and 1 baby stayed here 3 nights to trout fish. The house is nicely located near a boat rental place and public fishing dock/boat ramp. We loved the view of the river. The kitchen was fully equipped to cook meals. It was a perfect family trip for us!

Fabulous - Best place to relax and unwind
We rented this house for a week. The house is clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was available and easy to find. Sitting on the back porch and listening to the birds and the water was extremely relaxing. Our dog loved running back and forth from the water to the back porch and got plenty of exercise doing this. There is a charcoal grill that we used a couple of times and a fire pit with wood (we didn't use it). We LOVED that it was right on the river and took our kayaks up to the dam then floated back to the house. You can fish from the bank right there on the property. Nearly every evening we watched the fireflies and played cards or games (my teenage son actually put down his phone and played games with us without any bribery or threats). We would absolutely stay here again if we go back to this area.
Great little cabin with easy access to the river for kids to play in when it's low. Lots of games and reading material provided for enjoying the scenery from the deck. Only 1 queen and then two bunk beds so good for small families.
Only complaint is the fridge door has no way to hold condiments of drinks in it so it makes organization hard.
Will definitely stay here again.
Having a spacious house w direct river access at an affordable price - win win win! The kids loved playing down by the river when it wasn’t under water. But it didn’t take long to dry out once the water receded. We’ll bring fishing gear the next time and fish from the bank.
The house had everything we needed and then some. Kitchen was well stocked w all the essentials you’ll need (paper plates, paper towels, utensils, appliances, etc.).
My brother and I brought our youngest adult sons on a fishing getaway that has become an annual event. The property was perfect in many ways....convenient, clean, roomy and all the amenities. The view from the back porch is beautiful. The hosts were very attentive, great folks.
