About this property
The Nest at Pigeon Cove: Modern farmhouse with all the comforts of home!
Nestled in the Pigeon Cove neighborhood, a sweet little spot between beaches/Bearskin Neck and the gorgeous Halibut Point State Park, The Nest is your home base for exploring everything Cape Ann and Boston have to offer…and your oasis where your friends and family can gather to relax and recharge.
The Nest has everything you need for a great vacation. Amenities abound, and there's plenty of space for relaxing. Hang out together in the open floorplan, or send the kids to the den to watch a movie while you enjoy grown-up time in the living room or around the fire pit on the deck. Cook a meal (even boil lobsters!) in the well-appointed kitchen or on the grill, and gather round the table for a family meal. Or enjoy one of the many private spots to work, cozy up with a book, or take a nap.
Our neighborhood is perfect for stargazing (on a clear night you can see the Milky Way!) and enjoying the natural habitat. Depending on the season, you may hear singing frogs, spot fireflies in the back yard, or hear coyotes in the distance howling at the moon.
Location:
* 7-minute drive/35-minute walk to beaches and shopping in Bearskin Neck, Halibut Point State Park, Folly’s Cove (great sunsets!), and the train that takes you into Boston, Salem, and other towns
* 10-minute walk to the picturesque Pigeon Cove, where lobstermen moor their boats, and Cathedral Rocks, a great spot for snorkeling, scuba diving, stargazing, night photography, or just napping on the rocks
* 5-minute walk to Pine Pit Quarry, the beginning of 2.5-mile walking trail that leads to the Gloucester Quarries
* 15-minute drive to Gloucester
* 35-minute drive or train ride to Salem
* 60-minute drive or train ride to Boston
Amenities of this newly renovated farmhouse include:
* Level 2 EV charger
* Whole-house air conditioning and heating (climate-friendly electric heat pump)
* A ceiling fan in two bedrooms as well as the living room and dining room
* A well-appointed kitchen with new appliances and all the gear you need to cook at home
* First-morning breakfast sundries including coffee, tea, milk, and cereal
* 3 private workstations, one with a monitor and printer you can connect to
* 2 Roku smart TVs that let you log into your own streaming accounts
* Laundry machines, detergent, iron & ironing board
* Loads of books, toys, and games
* Child-friendly tableware, booster seat, baby/toddler bathtub, Pack & Play & baby gate
* Beach accessories: towels, beach bag, cooler, umbrella, chairs & toys
* Large deck with a gas grill, furniture, and Cuisinart Chiminea fire pit
* Two full bathrooms, one with a shower/tub combo (on first floor) and one with a walk-in shower (on second floor).
* Parking for 3 cars in the driveway
Notes about sleeping arrangements:
* There are five beds:
- Bedroom #1 (first floor): King bed
- Bedroom #2 (second floor): King bed
- Bedroom #3 (second floor): Two Twin XL beds. We can connect these to make a King upon advance request.
- Office (second floor): Twin bed. This room has doors that close but everyone has to walk through it to get to the bathroom.
* The house sleeps 6 comfortably in bedrooms, or 7 if you use the twin bed in the office.
* All rooms with beds have room-darkening shades.
* The beds and pillows are of varying firmness, so if you don't like one, try another!
* See the floorplan in the photos for more info.
Please note:
* We live near wilderness, including beaches, quarries, and conservation land. A bug in the house or wildlife in the yard is not unusual and is not indicative of the cleanliness of the house.
* We love our quiet little neighborhood and our lovely neighbors. Please respect their privacy and keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES. We have a noise monitor on site to alert us of extremely high decibel levels.
* There is no smoking in the house or in front of the house, but you are welcome to smoke on the back deck.
* Please do not sit on or place hot items on the countertops.
* Do not flush wipes of any kind down the toilets.
* There are camera doorbells on the front and side doors, and a camera pointing at the driveway. They are recording at all times. These are for your security and ours.
* There is a Minut sensor in the living room that alerts us to extremely high decibel levels, to prevent disturbances to the neighborhood. It does not record sound.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Lam

Hi! I'm Lisa. I love to travel abroad and also enjoy everything New England has to offer. I'm originally from Ohio and have lived in Massachusetts for almost 30 years. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing my love for Cape Ann and Boston. I hope you'll love it as much as I do!
Why they chose this property
This 1900 farmhouse in a quiet neighborhood won me over with its New England charm, lovely yard, awesome stargazing, proximity to beaches and hiking, and really lovely neighbors. I put blood, sweat, and tears into making it a comfortable haven, and I hope you enjoy it!
What makes this property unique
Guests consistently tell me that The Nest has everything they need to feel at home. I pride myself on its amenities -- a fully stocked kitchen, toiletries, loads of books and games, kid gear, beach gear, and more -- and I love hearing how comfortable guests are while they're there.
