About this property
Casa in Trastevere Botanic Garden
One of the most characteristic of Rome's traditional quarters, where you can still breathe the atmosphere of the Eternal City is Trastevere and it is here at the foot of the verdant Gianicolo hill that you can rent a sunny, peaceful and elegant flat. It is the ideal base for a week's holiday in Rome for you, your family and your friends. The flat, finely renovated and furnished, offers two comfortable bedrooms, one double and the other with two single beds; a living room with a double sofa bed and a well-equipped kitchenette; two spacious bathrooms; two TV sets and independent heating. All its windows have fine views of both the street below and the rich, green gardens of the villa opposite.
THERE IS AN ELEVATOR IN THE BUILDING.
CASA IN TRASTEVERE is for 4/6 people. Vicolo della Penitenza, where the flat is situated, offers an enviable position to the visitor who wants to enjoy Rome at its best. It is a stone's throw from Rome's Tiber river, and the narrow, bustling streets and square are its immediate backdrop. Trastevere's ancient churches and illustrious memories are there to be explored. Its countless restaurants and nightspots for all tastes and budgets wait to be discovered in the labyrinth formed by the age-old alleys.

Grazie Kate per la tua meravigliosa recensione. Spero di rivederti la prossima volta che verrai a Roma, sarai la BENVENUTA
Trastevere, is the only place to stay while your in Rome. The best restaurants, nightlife, and central location. The description could be a little more accurate.
We had a great stay overall. It is conveniently located a short walking distance from dozens of restaurants, shops, and gelaterias. The apartment was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The water pressure in the showers was excellent, which was definitely appreciated after long days out exploring. The showers themselves were quite small which seems to be the standard in Italy. There are air conditioners in the rooms however it was cool enough to leave the windows open and it could get pretty loud at night from outside noise so light sleepers may want to bring earplugs. That said, the host, Marta, was fantastic. Communication was exceptional from start to finish. She was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to others looking for a clean, roomy place with a great host.
Great location! We walked the entire city and returned everyday to the clean comfortable apartment with pleasure. Can’t wait to come back!

Disliked: Cleanliness
remarques

Nice Sized Apartment
Pros:
Close to St. Peters (20 minute walk), 10 minutes to Campo di Fiori, and 5 minutes Trastevere where is numerous pubs, bars and restaurants.
Two buildings from John Cabot University dorm and next to a Alimentari (mini market).
Air conditioner in each of the two rooms and one in the living room.
The WIFI was included and continuous hot water so hot showers are possible for everyone though cannot turn on the water while someone is showering.
The owner Marta was very nice and the following through email was good.
Cons:
Pricey.
The apartment faces a street on the second floor (no elevator) so there is constant vehicle and foot traffic and even though the air conditioners were turned on we could hear everything with the windows and shutters closed. Did not sleep well all week. Seems like garbage is picked up every day so the sanitation trucks with their 'safety alarms' which sound like an alarm clock is constantly going off. They push all the door buttons until someone buzzes them in since the garbage cans are in the first section of the building right behind the front door of the building. So everyday you have to walk by the stinky garbage to get to the stairwell to get to apartment.
The apartment next to a mini market and the owner, clerks, and customers are chatting it up early in the morning and also with their vendors who drop off the goods.
The apartment could be 'freshened up" with paint, new hardware in the bathrooms, etc...
The stand up showers are 3x3 feet so I had hard time bending down to pick shampoo etc...on the shower floor (since there are no shelves in the shower) and I am only 120 lbs and 5'7.
My travel mate said the mattress in the main bedroom was very hard.

Perfect for family or friends
Lovely apartment - bigger than it looks in the photos. Fantastic location: quiet, pretty street right by the restaurants and bars of Trastsevere. Fifteen minute walk to the Vatican; twenty minute walk to Piazza Navona. Central - and well equipped - enough to return to make lunch every day, via nearby Campo Fiori food market. Martha and Noemi were very helpful.

Cool, calm and stylish apartment in a great location.
Great place to stay in Rome. A quiet location but just a few minutes walk from the wonderful cobbled streets and cafes/restaurants of Trastevere and the peaceful Botanic Gardens. We walked everywhere, from the Colosseum and Palatine Hill to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. It's all easily within walking distance. The apartment is fabulous for a family of 4, like us. It's well equipped and stylish. The fans were very welcome during the warm July nights. We all enjoyed our stay and would stay here again next time we're in Rome!

Exceeded all expectations
We were thrilled with this apartment, chosen after days of reviewing many places in Rome. It was perfect for our specific desires, which were as follows: walking distance from center -- e.g., Campo Fiore; near Trastevere with its charms and liveliness; quiet at night; clean, aesthetic living space with generous amount of room for 4+ people (2 bathrooms); functional kitchen; big windows and natural light. Futhermore, Marta was delightful, a pleasure to deal with.
