The home is just beautiful. It was so relaxing looking out on the water, watching the hummingbirds and spending time with family. The hosts were wonderful, quick to respond, and thought of everything. They left clear instructions on the counter and a guest book full of glowing reviews. We arrived during a rainy weekend in the middle of May so it was too cold for swimming or water activities and the mosquitoes were plentiful when it wasn't raining, but the breeze kept them at bay and when it wasn't breezy, we used bug spray. :) It turned out to be a great weekend to celebrate my daughter's graduation from SUNY!
We had a wonderful week in this remote camp right on the water. In fact the large deck overlooked the water. Fortunately we brought in enough supplies to eat every meal there. We had planned on traveling to a restaurant but never wanted to leave.
The host is very generous with beach towels, linens and kayaks.
The sunsets were behind us but the sunrises were before us. I liked to swim at 6:00 AM in the rising mist.
Sit on the dock, wave to passersby in pontoon boats, read War and Peace. Grill a steak without having to replace the propane tank. They have a huge one.
Couldn't be happier.
We came to stay at the lake in memory of our mother, who summered there most of her life, and for our childhoods. It was a wonderful time. The cottage is situated right on the lake, tastefully decorated, fully equipped, and very comfortable. Our host was responsive and accommodating. We could not have asked for a better visit to the lake and are grateful we found such a lovely place to stay.
We loved the space and quiet and looked forward to hearing the loons every day! So happy that we found this gem to enjoy our daughters graduation from Saint Lawrence University. Don't miss it!

About the host
Hosted by Mike Seaton
Our family has been vacationing on this lake for almost 60 years and, almost three years ago, we were able to buy and completely renovate one of the prime properties on the lake. We use it often throughout the year; it’s our family’s “happy place!” We live in southern Vermont, so it’s a beautiful drive when we want to “escape to the lake.” We’s always wanted waterfront property, but never dreamed that it would be as beautiful as this!
Why they chose this property
Our view of the lake is so beautiful, and much of the shoreline is undeveloped. We love watching the loons play in the water, and we often see bald eagles. This is a very quiet, peaceful place; no nearby restaurants or nightlife, which is one of the reasons we love it. We come here to get away from the noise of the real world, and it’s a perfect place to do this. Sunrises and sunsets on the lake are glorious, and there are lots of places to walk and hike, followed by a swim in the lake. Fresh, mountain air and crystalline water.
What makes this property unique
This house has a lot of light, with very large windows overlooking the lake. There are many sitting areas inside and out. it’s a very comfortable house, with many amenities. Even though you’re removed from the hustle and bustle of the everyday world, there’s excellent high-speed Internet for those who chose to stay connected!
