About this property

Exclusive and private regenerative farming estate set in the English countryside

Baston Hall is a beautifully restored 9 bedroom Elizabethan mansion that exudes understated quality and timeless English elegance. A listed historical hall house set by two lakes in its own valley of140-acres of private regenerative farming estate, with wild flower meadows, our native aberdeen angus suckler cattle herd, rare breed sheep, woodland pigs, guinea fowl and chickens.
Guests can enjoy woodland walks, foraging for wild garlic, nuts, fruits and mushrooms, and exploring the footpaths throughout the farm.
Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to the foot of Malvern Hills, but still just two and a half hours from the hustle and bustle of London.

The Baston hall house, oast houses and old stables have been lovingly modernised and upgraded, comfortably accommodating up to eighteen guests across nine beautifully appointed bedrooms while there is the potential for two additional children to make use of extra beds.

Set around a central courtyard, the ground floor is home to inviting entertaining spaces which boasts comfy sofas and open fires and comprises of a reception hall, sitting room, dining room, drawing room, and farmhouse kitchen. Upstairs, on the first floor are Tally-ho and Rose, two super-king size bedrooms which share the use of a Jack and Jill bathroom complete with a gorgeous freestanding copper bath tub. This floor also has a family bathroom with bath and separate shower and another WC. Along the corridor to the oast houses are a further two bedrooms, one super-king ‘upstairs downstairs’ Kingfisher suite with bathroom and the Oast House super-king suite with a separate sitting room and en-suite with a bath and separate shower. The Oast House suite can be set up as twin or super-king. There is a further WC in this part of the house. Up on the second floor are Shangri-la, a beautiful super-king sized room complete with hand painted gold leaf chinoiserie mural, and Fresco with its bespoke magnolia flower fresco mural which can be set up as a twin or super-king room, making it ideal for friends or children sharing. On the second floor there are an additional two bathrooms for these bedrooms.

The remaining three bedrooms can be found in the adjoining Stables and include the Peacock Suite with its double fronted fire that links the bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Peacock has a four-poster super-king sized bed and a huge bathroom with separate walk in shower and a bathtub situated in-front of the fire. A separate WC with hand painted birds and bamboo mural completes this suite. Spire has a super-king sized four-poster bed and an art deco bathroom with separate shower and roll top bath. Wisteria is a king room with a beautiful hand painted mural of wisteria flowers climbing up the walls, it also has double doors out onto its own private deck and an estate view. Completing this room is a large en-suite bathroom with pink marble walk in shower.

After a busy day spent exploring your own private idil, the courtyard terrace or by the lake are perfect spots for the whole group to gather, cook up a storm on the barbecue and enjoy a meal al fresco admiring the un-spoilt valley view. An evening stroll in the gardens at sunset is the perfect time to watch the resident guinea fowl and peacocks return home to their roosting trees, and the wild ducks and mandarins nest up for the night on ‘duck island’.

When we found the The Baston Hall Estate it was love at first sight. The view of the stunning Elizabethan property hit us as soon as we travelled down the driveway, and with its private setting by the lake in its own valley we were hooked. It is a real privilege to be custodians of this very special place. Since buying Baston Hall in July 2017 we have spent the last 5 years painstakingly upgrading and restoring the listed property and embarking on a regenerative farming journey. The wider farming estate is managed for nature, biodiversity and soil health.
