About this property
Private Bayfront Home 2 mins from Popham Beach with Hot Tub
Step inside to a recently renovated home featuring wood-paneled walls and ceilings, soapstone countertops, and large windows. The master bedroom has a California King bed, a dedicated workspace with a monitor, and a private bathroom with a skylight, walk-in shower, soapstone vanity, and washer/dryer. The second bedroom features a Queen bed, dedicated workspace with a monitor, and direct entrance to the main bathroom. The third bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed with a twin-sized trundle that rolls out, desk, closet, and bay views. With the additional full-sized pull-out couch in the living room, the house can accommodate up to 10 guests, but is most comfortable for 6-7 guests.
The living area features a wall of windows with beautiful ocean views, a large seating area with three couches, wood stove, TV, record player with Bluetooth, and classic board games. The kitchen is equipped with soapstone countertops and stainless-steel appliances. Please note that there is no dishwasher. The entry room features an additional workspace, bringing the total private workspaces to four. The home has fast WiFi, brand new energy-efficient heating and cooling, and a smart TV with a range of apps, including Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney+, ESPN, and more. In case of a power outage, we have a newly-installed generator that will provide power for multiple days.
The wrap-around screened porch has a large dining area, a lounge area with a rocking chair, a hammock, and a daybed. In the front of the house, there is plenty of space for parking and a charcoal grill for summertime barbecues. At the foot of the porch you’ll find a year-round hot tub nestled among the pine trees and blueberry bushes with views of the water and Popham Beach State Park. Step through the trail of blueberry bushes down to the tidal waterfront where you can go kayaking, fishing, and even clam digging at low tide. There are two kayaks for guests to float around the bay, explore the tidal rivers that cut through the flood plains, or even kayak all the way to Fort Popham. You can also embark on a leisurely hike directly from the house by crossing the street to Spirit Pond, a preserve containing 3.5 miles of trails traversing the water, the flood plains, and the surrounding forest.
Our home is located just a two-minute drive from Popham Beach, where the activities are endless – swimming, sunbathing, surfing, going for a walk along the four-mile beach, exploring the tidal pools and Fox Island, and enjoying sightings of seals, dolphins, and even whales.
What’s Nearby:
Directly across the bay, you can immerse yourself on a walk through American history featuring American-Revolution-era batteries at Fort Baldwin, Civil War-era Fort Popham, and the site of the 1606 Popham Colony, a failed British colony which preceded the Mayflower’s landing at Plymouth. Play tennis or a round of golf at nearby Sebasco Resort, or go on a beautiful hike to Seawall Beach at Morse Mountain. Experience quintessential Maine’s fresh lobster and oysters at one of the peninsula’s waterfront restaurants. Take a stroll through galleries, local shops, and the Maine Maritime Museum in the historic shipbuilding town of Bath, just 20 minutes away. Or, head back towards civilization for dinner and a concert in Brunswick (30 min), check out the shops of Freeport (45 min), walk through historic Boothbay Harbor (55 min), or explore the bustling port and nightlife in Portland (1 hr).
