Host was quickly responsive, house was very clean, we had kitchen items available for cooking. Very peaceful setting yet so close to Sandpoint for shopping!
We had a great time at Bright Mountain Stay. Stores were just minutes away making grocery shopping quick and easy. And we enjoyed the quietness all through the day and evenings.
Lots of beds, room for lots of people, looks better than it is! We stayed for 11 days while looking atbuying a place. The house was so dirty! Dishwasher was FILLED with mold & filter so clogged it leaked all over the floor. Had to scrub all of it with bleach. Vacumns reeked, filters were black. Many fans there (which were needed as it gets very warm (no shades on the huge front windows) but were filthy & blowing it at us. Food basics in the cupboards plentiful as long as you are ok with using stuff that expired in 2023. Started off walking barefoot until day 2 when I saw the bottom of my feet which were black. Slippers from then. Dryer was caked w/dirt which explains why the linens all smelled sour, had to wash a lot of it. Mostly feather pillows which we are highly allergic to. Beds were beyond horrendous, lilke sponge. My back & my son's were crippled post 1st night subsequently having to cancel many plans because we could barely walk. Thank GOD for the jacuzzi. The 2 times I contacted owner Day 1/2 about no mop & no dishwasher tabs she was responsive saying "cleaning lady" would bring them by. She left them at the bottom of the long steep driveway by the road twice. She couldnt bother to drive up & put them at the front door? The steep stairs inside are dangerous w/no railing at all. I couldnt stay up there for fear of falling. The ones outside top 2 stairs are metal grates ? my dog cut his paws twice. So disappointing, didnt contact owner anymore because we were so pissed
Comfortable beds and great proximity to Schweitzer but trains run frequently day and night and the horns are loud. Pool/air hockey table was fun for the teens and the hot tub was enjoyed by all!
The place was well stocked with cooking supplies, towels and bedding. The location was amazing, very close to Schweitzer, which we drove to every day and very close to downtown Sandpoint. Hot tub was perfect temperature. Initially worried about the train tracks being across the road but honestly, they weren’t that loud or frequent….Would definitely rent this place again!
Clean and great place to stay. It was my family with an infant and my friends family with an infant and toddler. Plenty of room for all of us. Everything was very clean including the hot tub. Great location and beautiful property. Would recommend staying here.
Had a great time at this cabin in Sandpoint, everything was really well maintained and comfortable. Communication and check in with owner was very easy. Highly recommended
It is a beautiful property. Clean and very nicely decorated. Our only complaint is that there was no where near enough towels for the number of people the property is designed to sleep. But other than that we all enjoyed our stay.
The property has lots beds and amenities. Kitchen is well stocked and it is a great location just 20 minutes from Schweitzer and less than a mile from the bus shuttle. I took off one star due to the train tracks being very close and loud to the house as well as the kitchen and dining area being a little small.
My family and I spent seven nights here in July. Although there is no AC, there were many fans and the house was very comfortable all day and night. The house was well-equipped. When we needed help, the owner responded within an hour. Would stay here again.
There were a couple things, burnt sausages in the bbq, load of laundry in the washing machine, icy parking area, and wobbly chairs, that could’ve been better. I would recommend some type of steps or ladder to get into the hot tub. That was a bit difficult. All in all a pretty good stay.
Check in was rocky at first due to the cleaning crew not being finished at check in time but, they allowed us to bring our items inside. Location was great, close to sandpoint + the lake. Super hot in the summer and there is no AC so just beware. Overall was great for a weekend stay!
The house is great, especially if traveling with kids. The location was easy to get to and convenient.
If you are visiting in the winter, be sure to communicate with the owner, as 4-wheel drive and potentially traction tires or chains may be necessary to get up the driveway. The owner did communicate this ahead of the trip, and communicated frequently and promptly throughout.
We had a great stay. The house was spacious and in a beautiful setting. The recently added hot tub was excellent for after a day of skiing. The driveway was a little challenging with ice and snow on it, but the host forewarned us and we all had vehicles that could manage it. There are train tracks across the street with frequent trains passing by. It didn't negatively affect our stay, we were just surprised at how many trains there were.
My family and I had a great overall week long stay here. We went to ski at Schweitzer and the house is only 15 minutes away, which was awesome! The house was very well furnished with supplies and cooking utensils. There was a pack n play and booster seat which was great for my youngest, as well as baby gates for the stairs which was super helpful! A few things about the location: The train tracks are directly across the road and trains run 24/7 through there, so good to know if you’re a light sleeper or have babies/kids. Also the top floor bedroom floor creaks quite a bit and can be loud, but it wasn’t an issue for us. The outside deck was really nice to relax on next to the propane fire pit, and there were 2 full propane tanks available. The whole place was very accommodating for our family trip and I definitely recommend it.
We stayed here with one other family during the spring time for a youth sporting event. It’s a great floor plan and layout for multiple families, although sounds do easily travel so be prepared to be on similar schedules for evenings and mornings. Our two well behaved dogs joined us too and the house and yard worked great for them too. The house is in a wooded area just outside of town, so it’s an easy drive to fields, shops, restaurants. The house orientation lets in a lot of natural light, it’s really lovely! Be prepared for very early bright light coming into the windows in the morning with the east facing bedrooms (2 out of the 3). Also, the traintracks are VERY close and at least a dozen trains pass by each day and night, so be prepared for that noise. It’s really a simply but very practical home. The upstairs game area is great for kids and teens. The hot tub is nice, but somewhat tricky to get in and out of. The exterior entry stairs and deck could use some updates as they are a bit steep and dilapidated, but they are still functional. Lastly, there’s a lovely stray cat that likes to come and say “hi”. We’re animal lovers, so we enjoyed her visits! We would stay here again.
