First, we always recommend a trip to our City Park. It’s the largest in the nation and boasts a beautiful sculpture garden (free) you can tour on land or via paddle boat. There is a wonderful spot, Morning Call, to have beignets and cafe au lait on a bayou surrounded by huge oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. Steps from: Streetcar Lafitte Greenway bike path More amazing patio restaurants and bars than you can shake a stick at City Park New Orleans Museum of Art New Orleans Sculpture Garden The Children's Museum New Orleans Botanical Gardens Shopping 1 Mile to French Quarter, park space the entire walk or ride there Bike rentals The beautiful Bayou St John and is surrounding historic neighborhood Jazzfest, Voodoo Fest, Bayou Boogaloo just steps away. Great Begniets from Morning Call This list could be never-ending! There are several options for getting around without a car, perfectly do-able in New Orleans. New Orleans streetcar, the Canal Street line runs just a few short blocks away. $1.25 will take you all the way to the French Quarter. It’s the oldest public transportation in the US and is a spectacular way to experience the city. Your backyard is home to the lafitte greenway. This lovely green space is a short bike ride or a lovely walk to the French Quarter.
