About this property

Cozy, bohemian cabin nestled in the Rich Mountain Wilderness

Hideaway and discover what outdoor adventure and the mountain air can do for your soul at The Hauschen Holler, a cozy, bucolic cabin conveniently located in the iconic Walnut Mountain community. After exploring the many nearby local wineries, floating the Cartecay or hiking the neighboring scenic trails of Appalachia and strolling the hip downtown Ellijay ~ just 6 miles away, return to this perfectly rustic cabin to picnic near Turniptown Creek, go for a hike on one of the many community trails, refresh in the mountainside pool, borrow some rackets and hit the tennis courts, or bring your fishing poles and fish at one of the four stocked community lakes. Better still, bring a book and just stay in, sip your coffee on the charming screened porch and enjoy the sound of the mountain breeze through the trees of the holler. Whether you are needing a solo reprieve or hitting the abundant hiking/biking mountain trails with a couple friends, The Hauschen Holler is the perfect setting to welcome you back!

This rustic cabin is appointed with all the modern amenities you need to relax and enjoy the mountains’ beauty, WiFi, a Roku device on each level that can be utilized with your own subscriptions, a Peloton, dart board and a wet bar on the terrace level that opens out to the quiet seclusion of Pine Ridge holler. This cabin has a lovely outdoor space surely to keep you entertained with a large swing appointed front porch, a tree-house-like back porch that is often described by guests as “charming” and “romantic”, a back terrace equipped with a swing, rocking chairs, table tennis, and a hot tub, that will carry your mind to a simpler time, a fire-pit great for snuggling, and cornhole- all that is surely to transport you back in time to when families ended their summers at this idyllic community’s end of summer social, think Baby’s first dirty dance.

Hauschen Holler is the perfect rustic escape to rest and reconnect with nature. But don’t hesitate, this little house in the holler books fast!

Please note:
- This cabin is COZY and quirky, complete with narrow winder stairs to both levels and noggin’ knockers (head-height clearances at stairs that weren’t built for today’s standards), the rooms are sized for relaxing in bed and not much else, and she rests on a steep grade with not much level yard, but that only adds to Hauschen Holler’s boho-rustic charm. These details are what makes this cabin such a delight, but they can also be an obstacle for small children or people with physical limitations.
- This community is in a remote mountain wilderness called the Rich Moutnain Wilderness. Inclement weather can result in the loss of power or other amenities. Roads are steep and during inclement weather will require 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicles.
- This community is sacred to all inhabitants and thus there are rules to abide by so that all can enjoy. Please see the House Rules
- This cabin is a true log cabin. There are spiders, ants and some flying insects. There are bears and other wild life and specific rules in place to minimize your exposure.
- Be sure to read the House rules in the listing before you book.
- By booking you are confirming you have read all the house rules and agree to comply with all of them and you understand failure to do so will result in additional fees per violation and/or being asked to vacate the property.

House Rules:
In our cabin we follow the rules of the woods, so remember - Leave no trace, Your’e a guest, and our own personal Fav’s Hollar, Halt and Hide.
Leave No Trace: This is the most widely recognized rule of a good camper. So, pick up after yourself at the cabin and around our community. Make sure you dispose of your trash in the proper way, and try not to damage the surrounding trees and flora during your stay.
• There is no food, cans or bottles allowed inside the fence of the pool deck, in order for our guests to continue to be allowed to utilize this amenity, all guests must abide by this and all posted rules in the communal areas. Please help us continue to provide this amenity to our guests by following these rules.
• Follow the posted Hot Tub rules. No food or drink in the hot tub, please rinse any excessive hair/body oils or lotions prior to entering, and absolutely no pets as this will require additional cleaning fees, minimum $100, which you will be held responsible for.
You’re a Guest: The natural setting of the community is here for you to enjoy respectfully, don’t take over areas that are not designated for your use.
• Take your towels and toys back with you when using the pool or creek/lake recreation areas.
• Keep your vehicles, equipment like bikes, toys, etc. within our provided parking areas when not in use, do not park on the road or block other property owners and from accessing their private or community common areas.
• If you have an approved service animal, they must be leashed when outside at all times and crated at all times when unaccompanied indoors.
• Play respectfully in the pool and on the courts. Please only utilize the tennis courts for playing tennis.
Holler: We all know where the moniker ‘Holler’ derived; in the mountains, noise carries! There is absolutely no noise or loud music allowed on the mountain after 10pm or before 8am. We love our community and our neighbors – wild and domestic and we want to make sure that all guests and native fauna can enjoy the mountain together. Please be courteous and keep your music and “hollerin’” to a respectful volume and take it inside after 10pm.
Halt: NO BURNING inside or outside during the months of June-August. Adhere to the posted fire restrictions. There is a sign at the Community entry, if this sign states fire risks higher than ‘LOW’, there is absolutely no outside burning in the firepit or otherwise, no matter the time of year. Violators will be fined a minimum of $100
Hide: Hide yo’ food! Even if you plan on cleaning up or disposing of your trash when you leave, keep it clean while you stay, trash can not be left outside in any way. All trash compiled during your stay must remain in the interior trash receptacles provided. When full, your trash bags can be disposed of in the dumpsters provided at Gate 1, and no where else. Any trash kept outside poses a risk to local wildlife and no one wants that. If notification is given that your trash is not disposed of properly will result in a minimum of $50 fine.

New favorite place to stay!
This cabin was amazing! Very clean and well stocked with everything that you would need in a home away from home! The upstairs patio was my favorite place to sit and relax. We did see a few deer and it was exciting. The neighbors that we met were so nice and all the properties were clean and maintained. We absolutely loved that the roads to the cabin were paved and wide enough for multiple vehicles to pass. The hosts were amazing and answered all questions we had and were so awesome when we had to buzz them multiple times to get in because WE forgot the remote to the gate 😀. 10/10 would recommend this cabin to everyone!! Thank you again for the wonderful stay!

Beautiful and cozy
We enjoyed calling this cabin home the last few days. It is such a beautiful, cozy place nestled in the woods! we enjoyed every bit of it! Some of our favorites were relaxing in the hot tub and swinging on the porch listening to the sounds of nature all around. It was truly a relaxing and much needed vacation! We can’t wait to visit again!
