About this property
Lake View 5-Bedroom House with a Mountain Backdrop
The “Overlook at Palmer Lake” is a haven that will captivate you upon arrival. You will find yourself tucked away from the encumbrance of big city bustle, embraced by the welcoming chatter of intrepid wildlife and bubbly townsfolk. The scrub oak nestling the home and the embracing surround of mountains, will both ensure you feel nicely tucked in! Come enjoy your stay with us to better appreciate Colorado’s unfurling skies and rolling foothills.
The space
Entering the “Overlook at Palmer Lake,” you are greeted by cathedral ceilings, a bright main living room and a double-sided gas fireplace. The nine-foot windows will immediately beckon you to step out onto the deck where you will discover the meaning behind our name. Palmer Lake ripples with meandering paddleboards and various waterfowl that call the lake home. You will surely encounter our beloved train that passes under the footbridge, leading you into the heart of the town of Palmer Lake. Each level of the home flaunts its own unique outdoor escape. Enjoy the morning light and hot coffee on the front porch, watch the sun set on the upper deck while barbequing on the Blackstone Grill or sip some wine while cozied up on our lower stamped patio. On warm weekend nights, you will hear live music trailing across the lake from a couple of our favorite local haunts.
The Master Suite being kissed with late morning light, you may find it difficult to pull from your comfy king-size bed, but the day awaits! There are adventures to be had! Get up! We have actually ensured that all of our rooms have thermal black-out curtains, because we know, well and good, that this quaint town can kick up a roarin’ good time on the weekends! If this is the situation, keep the door locked, curtains closed and enjoy soaking in the jetted bathtub! Or the two-person tiled shower. No one has to know.
Also, on the main floor is a room geared towards youth. There is a bunk bed with a Twin on top over a comfy Full-Size bed (yes for the unfortunate single folk. We’ve all been there!) and a cushy memory foam Twin trundle bed. The built-in desk is perfect for little drawings or even a quick catch up with some work. If a Pack n’ Play is needed, we have one at your convenience with a soft/firm reversible mattress insert depending on your infant’s age and need. It also includes fresh sheets to keep your little one comfortable all night. Fingers crossed!
There is a secondary Master Bedroom with King Bed, and two more cozy bedrooms with Queen Beds in the basement. The King and Queen are connected by a Jack and Jill bathroom that is private to only these two rooms. Each bathroom downstairs has a tub and shower. In the center of these rooms is the rec-room, a secondary living room with a La-Z-Boy Queen Sleeper Sofa, large Flat Screen TV, and a foosball table!
The laundry room is available for all guests and has a GE Profile washer with automatic detergent and fabric softener dispensers and a GE Profile gas dryer with Steam De-wrinkle Setting for refreshing any of your packed (a.k.a. creased!) clothing.
The Overlook at Palmer Lake is just down the road from the Award-Winning Spruce Mountain Ranch Venue and Cattle Events, Spruce Mountain Trailhead and ample open spaces to experience the countryside on foot or horseback. Palmer Lake is nestled minutes between the homespun pubs and eateries of Larkspur and the hip and historic district of the town of Monument, although we prefer the short walk across the bridge to the other side of lake where you’ll find unique bistros, famed ice-cream, and upbeat bars. You’ll have stopped only for a bite to eat, but will quickly find yourself enmeshed in the lively authenticity of small-town bustle.
