About the host
Hosted by Laura Olinger
I’m a frequent traveler who spends a lot of time on the road for work and personal trips, and I’ve always appreciated the comfort and character of well-cared-for private rentals. I love places that feel personal, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed especially those close to nature and the water.
Why they chose this property
The Fairhaven area offers a quiet, scenic setting along Lake Ontario, with easy access to both Rochester and Buffalo while still feeling removed from busy tourist areas. It’s a place where guests can slow down, enjoy open skies, and experience a more relaxed pace of life.
We chose this location for its natural beauty, peaceful surroundings, and proximity to the lake, as well as its connection to nearby towns, waterfront dining, and seasonal events. An added convenience is our on-site restaurant, Tavern on the Ridge, which offers guests an easy dining option just steps away.
Fairhaven is also home to both public and private events throughout the year, creating a lively yet well-balanced atmosphere without sacrificing privacy. Summers bring long evenings, cool lake breezes, and memorable sunsets, while the surrounding area offers space to explore without feeling crowded.

What makes this property unique
Room #2 stands out for its spa-inspired bathroom, featuring both a freestanding soaking tub and a separate walk-in shower, a rare combination for an inn-style room. Natural light from a large window enhances the space, creating a relaxing, retreat-like feel.
