Our Hosts were SPECTACULAR & so very helpful .. an abundance of Info, Guidance, & Assistance! The house was ADORABLE- more than we expected .. attention given to ALL details, decor was modern/eclectic, crisp and clean, yet so warm & cozy with it's own charm throughout. Bedrooms we're spacious, chargers on the side tables, nightlights where needed, and the beds were Fresh, Clean, & Comfy!! The Appliances were clean, newer, in perfect working order, & we had a fabulous assortment of cookware at our disposal- we lacked for nothing. We loved having the Market, River, Capital Bldg, & so many other shops within walking distance. If we visit Harrisburg/Hershey again next year, we will be certain to book with Joe & Rebekah

Thanks so much, Mark. Pleasure hosting and happy to welcome you back the next time you are in Harrisburg!
Loved everything about this property! So charming. The accommodations were great - with 3 bedrooms, we all slept comfortably. The location is great! I believe we walked everywhere, so having the parking garage included was convenient! The owners are fantastic; making sure everything was to our liking! Would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Harrisburg! Thanks Rebekah & Joseph.
Located in historical district. Unit was comfortable for the three of us, but stairs can be steep for some. Owner sets temp, however is very responsive to requests for changes. Owner is very helpful in making suggestions for restaurants/bars. Parking on street worked well, but we did also use the garage, which was a 0.2 mile walk.
It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. Some of the doors were poorly maintained (loose or very hard to close or open). When I told the owner that I was considering inviting some visitors for a few hours mid-day one day the owner immediately charged me for it before I solidified that plan. To their credit, they were good enough to call me and help me understand their liability issues. So I changed plans and decided to not invite my friends and the owners canceled the added charges. The views of the river and capital building and the outdoor amenities are exaggerated. The interior stairways are steep and difficult to navigate for an older person. It is difficult to take shoes on and off in the entry as there is no seating, though shoe removal is required. I burned myself on the "microwave safe" dishware when I heated a cup of water. Clearly, it is not microwave safe - I think it may be melamine.

Thanks, Gene. So sorry to hear the payment issues with VRBO’s corporate processing and system issues caused frustrations that are not reflective of our property or hosting. I was happy we could to connect when you mentioned you would be having your son and his entire wedding party come over to our home the day of the wedding to get ready and that we could explain why that was a liability issue and against our house rules without officially adding them to the guest count. I’m very sorry to just now learn you burnt your hand and wish we would have known that information as we would have ensured proper routing through insurance and medical care as well as examining what glass was utilized. We do not claim anywhere to have microwave safe coffee cups so I am very sorry to hear that happened. Thank you for telling me about the singular door that was loose at check-out and now we are sorry to hear after additional VRBO payment issues that there were other doors loose and we will inspect as this is a 1908 home and we are committed to maintaining a high standard for renting. Thank you very much and again, we are sorry our house rules and VRBO corporate system glitches with payment impacted your stay.
The row house was very clean and had a bit of old world charm. It was very close to a lots of great eating places, historic landmarks and a beautiful tree lined walkway along the river was just a block away. The only thing that could be difficult at times was finding street parking near the rental.

Thanks, Sue. Glad you enjoyed your stay. We do provide off street parking as well in the nearby secure garage for guest convenience.
This a well-appointed house in mid-town. Hosts were available when needed-would recommend this if stairs are not an issue.

Thank you, Mark. We understand that some members of your group may of had mobility issues. It is important to note that this is a three story 1908 home with two flights of stairs, as described in the listing. We appreciate your review.
Pros- The owners were quick to respond when I had a question. The home was clean and beautifully decorated. The temperature in the home was comfortable. We loved the river being nearby. Cons- Parking was stressful. The parking deck felt unsafe if it was needed after dark. We paid extra for street parking, and it was difficult to catch an empty space later in the afternoons/nights. The neighbors above the empty garage next door were smoking pot on the balcony when we arrived. One night while there, there was screaming, yelling and loud noises in the night/early morning hours coming from them. I take responsibility for not asking BEFORE booking, but the owners would not allow my son to drop by home for an hour or two (not stay) while we were there. We made the trip to see him due to him accepting a paid internship at Hershey Park. We cooked one night, and he could not come in to pick up food. We met him on the street, to give him the dinner to take back to his apartment. We could pay additional fee as if he were staying with us, but due to work schedule, he had limited time to visit us in the home. This home is Not recommended for small kids at all or older adults with knee issues. The stairs are extremely steep and narrow within the home. The outdoor railing is missing from steps leading into the home.

Thanks for staying with us, Misty. We are sorry to hear the multiple offers and ways to allow your son on property while maintaining our house rules listed when booking and liability insurance was not acceptable to you. PA has decriminalized marijuana and that is out of our control as hosts so sorry to hear that impacted your city stay experience. Parking is also unfortunately out of our control but we are so happy we could provide to you our off street parking space as mentioned, that we pay for, for guest convenience. We host many families and children that love our home so sorry to hear that your childless stay resulted in that observation. Thanks again for staying with us.
Clean house, comfy beds. Had everything we needed, small kitchen, laundry room, 2 nice remodeled bathrooms. Parking garage available but was bit of a hike away. We parked on the street within a 1 block radius of the house for our stay. Check in/check out was easy.
It was a great experience. There were issues with the fridge early on and our hosts jumped right on it bringing in a mini fridge and buying a new small freezer. It was a weekend and repair men were not available but they made sure all our food didn’t spoil. They called multiple times just to make sure we were doing ok. Have never received such quality service like they gave!
The Harrisburg home was quite stunning & clearly loved and well-maintained. The location was nice in terms of walking to the river, market, and other midtown spots. What was challenging was the parking. We opted not to buy a pass for street parking and chose to use the owners' garage spot instead; I regret that choice, as the walk back and forth to the garage was longer than I realized and hard to do with my kids (9 and 7) at the end of long days at Hersheypark. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we generally enjoyed our stay. It would have been nice to have a larger soft space for our family to hang out, but the front room and dining room were enough. The provided K-cups, water bottles, and chips were a lovely touch. We initially had trouble with the keypad, but eventually got it.I would caution families with younger kids about choosing this property - since it is a historic house, you have to be clear w/ kids about house rules (if you're like me, you'll spend the whole time worried about your kids accidentally breaking all the glass/ceramic decor). For instance, there is a strict no shoes policy to protect the floors. My kids were great about that, but the vibe felt like we were staying in a museum & had to be cautious about what we touched/moved/used. It didn't feel like a home where we could fully relax after long days in the city & Hersheypark. This is NOT a criticism of the owners in any way, just an observation for others to consider when booking.
It's a beautiful home and very well cared for. They are very picky and I wouldn't recommend this home for older people or people with small children. There's a lot more communication needed on the front end than is normal. Outside is a but dicey and loud at night but we are city people and weren't bothered. Parking the car is not difficult and is only a short walk away. If you dont want to walk to get to your car or cant provide plate details in advance (for example if you have a rental) this would be a difficult place to stay. That being said the home is lovely and clean and a great fit for families with older children or adults and the hosts were very responsive.

Thanks for your review, Katie. Happy we were able to give you a complimentary late check-out and that you were able to park on our street without a permit for the entirety of your stay as parking is permit free Monday-Friday 10am-3pm, 5pm-8am and all weekend long (during your stay). The parking garage is a great value that we pay for so we are happy you found it useful and easy to park. However, we are sorry to hear the singular message asking for an approximate check-in time was burdensome. We appreciate the feedback.
My husband, son and I had a great stay! The property is very clean and well appointed. The location in Midtown Harrisburg is perfect. Broad Street Market is close by and if you are adventurous, you can walk to Lil Amps for great coffee. Raising the Bar bakery is a delicious stop too.
The hosts were always accessible via message in the app and responded quickly. Before our trip, we thought we needed to make a change and they were willing to work with us.
We would stay here again for sure!
We are a married couple living and working in Harrisburg that enjoy sharing our beautiful historic property and all there is to see and do in Harrisburg with guests.
