Very nice place to stay right on the river. Bait shop/launch site is pretty much right around the corner. Property manager was very helpful and responsive to my questions I had. Will love to stay here again in the future.
Just the perfect spot for two people to kick back and relax for however long they want. Incredibly affordable price to be right on the water and if you have any small personal boats to bring like kayaks or canoes, it makes it so easy to use them. All in all a very relaxing stay.
Location of this property is perfect for those wishing to fish the Wolf River and catch some Walleye or Whitebass action. Beautiful yard with firepit and deck with riverview. Dock fishing for whitebass was excellent and fishing boat rental next door with bait and tackle was very convenient. Price was reasonable for acommodations.
We were excited to try our luck on the river and more importantly , timing our stay with the annual White Bass run !Fishing accommodations at the cabin were great right off the two available piers. There was plenty of room to store/tie if you brought a boat . Unfortunately our fish timing was off again this year. NO FISH !! But the cabin was very clean, cozy and comfortable
Went there to do some kayaking on the river and nearby lakes. Was easy to get kayaks to the dock. The dock is about 24 to 30 inches above the waterline so watch a YouTube video or 2 on how to properly get into a Kayak from a dock.
The home was clean and cool with the window AC unit. Temps were in the upper 80s that week so was a blessing to have. There is an adequate supply of pots and pans in decent shape if you want to cook.
Overall it was a great stay. Looking forward to a potential repeat stay in 2024.
There were a few things that could have been cleaned better (someones toothbrush and hair tie left in shower, dishes needing to be washed before using them, trash from the last guests left on patio table), the air conditioning installation left crevices for lots of bugs to come in. The cabin is old so there were some cosmetic issues but all in all it was comfy, affordable, and in a great location.
It would be great if the hosts could update the cookware, like pots and pans, since the current ones are quite scratched, and non-stick coatings can be unhealthy when damaged. There was no light on the pier, maybe it just needs a new bulb. In the backyard there is no lighting at all, not even a fixture, so it wasn’t possible to sit outside in the evening. On the electric stove, one of the burners — the large one — is not working.

Thank you for the input! We immediately replaced the cookware. The stove worked when we checked it, it may have just needed the element plugged in tighter, but I appreciate that you let us know. We'll work on the lighting issues. Wayne and I always strive to meet the needs of our guests and appreciate the feedback.
This is a cozy, affordable river cottage. The pictures match the property well. We enjoyed that there was a portable AC unit in the kitchen and a fan as well, this helped kill some of the humidity in the air. The owner communicates very well. It would be great if there were more chairs around the fire pit, but we just used the ones from the patio and put them back. We had an enjoyable stay for 2 adults.

About the host
Hosted by Cathy Marquardt
Wayne and I were born and raised in Fremont and are so fortunate to have lived in such a wonderful community. Wayne and our son, Evan, are avid fishermen and enjoy hunting ducks, geese, pheasant, and deer. We also love to travel west for more adventures! Spending time on the water and camping are some of our favorite activities.
Why they chose this property
We love Fremont! We chose this property for easy river access with a boat lift, saving us from trailering our boat each time. Our home is in West Bloomfield, just a few miles away, so we decided to rent the cottage while still enjoying convenient boat access.
What makes this property unique
Our property features a private dock and is conveniently located within walking distance of bars and restaurants. A bait shop and boat landing are also just steps away, perfect for launching your boat!
