Your beautiful living space is the first floor unit of a charming, 1920s Victorian-style home that is also listed on the Vermilion Historic Register. This area of Harbourtown is historically where many fish shanties and the homes of town fisherman once stood. Today, it is located in the heart of Vermilion, but also the heart of Northern Ohio's, Lake Erie Vacationland.

Walk just a few minutes to Main Street Beach to enjoy a beach day with the family while taking in the amazing lake views, picturesque Vermilion lighthouse, and stone boardwalk down the river.

Rent a kayak or paddleboard at the close by West River Paddling Company on the Vermilion River and explore the peaceful and meandering Vermilion River.

Rent a boat or jet ski at Vermilion Marina or Vermilion Jet Ski and enjoy beautiful Lake Erie, whether it's fishing, swimming, or relaxing. Take advantage of our very large driveway and close Vermilion boat ramp if you have your own boat or watercraft.

Set out on a Fishing Charter boat from the Vermilion river to Lake Erie to hook and bring home some delicious Lake Erie Perch and Walleye!

Enjoy a scenic river cruise on the Mystic Belle with your own tour guide.

Catch a round of golf at the nearby Vermilion Country Club or Willow Creek Golf courses.

Wind down the day and get some delicious food and a cold beverage at the many nearby downtown restaurants, bars, or local wineries.

Find all the amusement and thrill you can experience in a day with a short 25 minute drive to Cedar Point Amusement Park or Kalahari Water Park.

See the great city of Cleveland with downtown being only 40 minutes away!

The possibilities are endless and we’re at the heart of it all and here to host your Northern Ohio vacation!

THINGS TO NOTE:
This vacation home is a duplex, and in the top unit is a quiet, long term tenant. The duplex is set up to where you will have completely private and segregated access to the front porch and entire first floor via the front door. The top tenant has access to the top unit only through a stairwell on the side of the house and does not have a key or password to the VRBO. The tenant will occasionally do laundry in the separate, outdoor access basement as well.

Your free parking is the whole driveway along the entire right side of the house. There is room for 4 cars, OR a car and a boat! This driveway is shared with the house next door but we own about 2/3rds of it so don't worry too much about snugging up your car right against the house. The quiet, long term tenant parks in front of the house all the way to the left.

We listed the amount this VRBO can sleep as 7, however, there is also a trundle bed underneath the bunk bed, as well as a pull-out single sleeper in the master bedroom that folds up like a chair. These would be comfortable for a small child but not practical for an adult, which is why we kept the sleep count at 7. However, if you are booking with many kids, the sleep count could be increased to 9 if the two sleeping in these beds were small children.

Mini Stay
The property was very nice. Figuring out the heat was a little tricky but once we got it, it was fine. Slow drain in the bathtub, but other than that everything was great! Highly recommend!

About the host

Host profile image
Hi, Aaron is currently active duty military in the US Coast Guard while also pursuing his masters degree in electrical engineering. Aaron is also active in his church where he serves as a Youth Pastor. Lastly, he loves to invest in real estate and host VRBOs! Rebecca recently completed her masters degree in music and now cares for our beautiful daughter full time. We both love to travel but also love our hometown of Vermilion where we both grew up and met. We love providing our guests an exceptional experience while sharing our VRBO and great hometown with others!

Why they chose this property

This property was our first purchase in our hometown of Vermilion. We partnered with Rebecca's parents to own this amazing piece of property in the most desirable neighborhood of Vermilion. This part of Vermilion has always been special to our families and we wanted to be able to share it with others. We look forward to personally enjoying this home when not booked and perhaps one day passing it on to our children.

What makes this property unique

A family friend owned this property before we did which gave us a special connection to this home. Immediately when walking in, you see the history of this century home when walking over the 100 year-old, original hardwood flooring. We have letters from the daughter of the original homeowner who built his home here and who also was an amazing citizen of Vermilion. As lovers of history, this created special meaning in the home to us. The old Victorian- style, original hardwood floors, big front porch, and historic place in its neighborhood attracted us to this home-- not to mention, being so close to the Lake and everything in downtown Vermilion. It is our hope that it will bring you as much happiness as it has brought us.
