Neighborhood description

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The home itself is TWO blocks away from the ocean, and one row in from the Intracoastal Waterway. The property is set seven blocks from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities, and dining. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday night, Movies at the lake each Sunday night, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning.

Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

Great Beach House and Close to everything
Stayed here with some friends and it was a great experience. Extremely close walk to a great beach and boardwalk area. The local area was nice and great people. Some cool local bars and food places nearby. The house was wonderful and smooth check-in/out process. 10/10 recommend.

Amazing place so close to everything!
The house was clean and totally lived up to our expectations. Other than a couple issues with flooring in master bedroom (expected in an old house) it was the perfect place to hang out with family when we weren't at the beach! Loved both the front porch and back deck!! Will definitely stay here again!

Be Sure to Read The Details
Be sure to read the details on this listing. Two main things: 1) The house is listed as a 4-bedroom but it only has 3 bedrooms. They're considering the living room with a fold out couch as a fourth bedroom. 2) Sheets, pillowcases, and towels do not come with the property. You have to pay extra for these which ads cost to your stay (unless you bring your own). As an avid traveler of 20+ years, I've never experienced this before. The property manager was very nice. The house itself has received some cosmetic updates but there are some bigger issues with the property such as extreme soft spots in the floor. I was disappointed that the house didn't have any soap provided for the dishwasher or washing machine.

Dads’ Get-Away
At first, we were unimpressed with a few things about the house - strange odor in the home, uneven & seemingly weak floors in a few spots. We didn’t let those small things interrupt a great weekend of relaxation & bonding.

Nice Restored house
House stay was good. The only two negatives were the subflooring in the master bedroom - felt like the subflooring was missing or too soft in a couple of areas under the floor surface. Second, all three couples not get the ductless Mitsubishi hvac units to work comfortably. Other than those structural items, all the family members enjoyed themselves.
