Beautiful Sacandaga Lake Cabin in Adirondacks w/ private lake access
The Lazy Bear Cabin is the perfect place for a couple’s getaway, trip with friends, or family trip. Relax and make some memories at this peaceful place to stay. At 1,650 square feet, it’s not too big and not too small. We have 10 feet of private lake access on The Great Sacandaga lake with a dock! 3 Kayaks are provided for guest use during the summer months. Cozy up around the firepit by the house at the end of each day!
This is an incredible getaway log cabin home nestled on 5 acres and just a mile from The Great Sacandaga lake! This is the perfect summer getaway with 3 kayaks included in your stay, local white- water rafting, hiking and many other outdoor summer activities listed in our guest book!
The Cabin is located 1 mile from the lake. The cabin is on a quiet, secluded road so you won't hear boat traffic from here! Drive your car 1 mile down the road to get to our 10 feet of private lake access. Exact directions on how to get to the lake access will be located in your welcome letter prior to arrival.
This amazing Adirondack themed home has 2 bedrooms plus an additional loft “bedroom” and 1 bathroom. The Lazy Bear Cabin has central A/C. It is extremely clean and well-kept with gorgeous woodwork throughout the home w/hardwood floors, knotty pine walls & ceilings, stunning beams & logs, convenient walkout basement, ample parking in the stone driveway and plenty of space between neighboring houses.
The Lazy Bear Cabin has 2 two decks (perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a cocktail), a grill, a large backyard w/firepit perfect for a night with s'mores or some relaxing music, walking trails and apple trees. Each day, we see deer visiting the apple trees.
The Great Sacandaga Lake is great for fishing; it holds the record for the largest pike caught in New York State. Fish species present in the lake are walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, rock bass, smelt, brown trout, yellow perch, landlocked salmon, pumpkinseed sunfish, and brown bullhead. Make new memories, celebrate an anniversary, listen to the birds chirp and just relax and make yourself at home in this magical place.

Our Keurig makes single serve coffee with k-cups. We invite you to bring your favorite K-cups with you to enjoy your morning exactly the way you like it! Waking up at The Lazy Bear Cabin is dreamy but life is always better with coffee.
What makes us so special?
1. Many homes along the Sacandaga Lake area are located on very steep hills. We are fortunate that our home is on 5 acres that are pretty flat!
2. We see Deer around our apple trees almost every morning and night.
3. Many homes near the lake have neighbors very close by. We are fortunate that we are on a secluded road with little traffic and we have ample space between neighbors.
4. Many homes around Sacandaga Lake have little to no cell service. We are fortunate that there is a cell tower close to our home, so we tend to have good cell service.
5. Ready to wind down or just need to keep the kids busy? Smart TV’s are in all 3 bedrooms & the living room. Using guest mode, you can use your own log in for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, etc. and it will automatically log you out at the end of your stay!
The Story:
The Lazy Bear Cabin was built in 1990 but has recently been remodeled to become the retreat of our dreams and now we are ready to share it with you. Our yard is very spacious and there is lots of wildlife in the woods area, who knows, maybe you’ll even see a bear! We hope that you enjoy our cabin as much as we do.
Life gets hectic and sometimes we need a gentle reminder to put ourselves first every now and then. We decided to name our home “The Lazy Bear Cabin” to remind of us that when we are at the cabin, it is okay to be “Lazy” and relax.
The Great Sacandaga Lake is a man-made lake with a surface area of about 41 square miles and a length of 29 miles. The word Sacandaga means “Land of the Waving Grass” in the local native language. The primary purpose for the creation of the reservoir was to control flooding on the Hudson River and the Sacandaga River by use of the Dam. Water levels fluctuate depending on weather conditions and Damming but tend to be the highest at the beginning of the season and the lowest at the end.
Guest access: Guests have access to the entire house aside from the furnace room. Guests do not have access to shed or garage. Guests do not have access to the washer/dryer.
Early check-in/late check-out: If you would like to check in early or check out late, please let us know at the time of booking. There is a $30 fee for early check-in or late check-out. Although it is not guaranteed, we will make every effort to fulfill your request.
Fun Facts:
1. You can see gorgeous sunrises/sunsets on The Great Sacandaga Lake. There are several public beaches around the lake.
2. Many folks around the lake have reported bear and moose sightings over the years (sometimes they even swim in the lake!)
3. We provide many household staples which other listings may not include. Please be thoughtful about this and don't ruin it for future guests. We are only able to offer these things if guests are mindful of only using what they need. (Please don't take our extra paper towels, toilet paper, condiments, tissue boxes, etc. home with you.)
4. We have kindly put together a local guide which will be waiting for you in the Cabin. This will help you find fun activities to do, local restaurants, boat launches, public beaches, concert halls, etc.
5. We will try our best to make sure you have a wonderful stay! That's what booking a trip is all about, anyway. We recommend doing your grocery shopping before you arrive. If you forget something, the closest grocery stores are Tops Supermarket or J.F. Farm Store & Café in Northville (20 minute drive).
Key/Door Procedures: Prior to your arrival, you will receive a code to the cabin. This code will ONLY be valid from check-in time to check-out time. Please lock all doors each time you leave the property.
Occupancy Limit and Restrictions: 6 people max (please keep in mind, all children including infants count as occupants!) If we make an exception to allow more than 6 people, there will be a charge of $40 per person, per day.
Rules: We only allow guests who agree to treat our home like their own.
• Do not plug in any power strips.
• Do not run the microwave and toaster at the same time, it will trip the breaker which is locked in the furnace room.
• No excessive water usage please, we have a well!
• Guests have access to the entire house aside from the locked furnace room.
• Guests do not have access to the garage or shed.
• Guests agree to notify us immediately if any maintenance problem develops at the property so it can be remedied as quickly as possible. Owners reserve the right to make repairs as necessary, and to enter the vacation rental with reasonable notice, or without notice if you cannot be reached.
• No refunds will be provided due to inoperable appliances although owners will make every reasonable effort to assure that such appliances will be in and remain in good working order. Also, no refunds will be given due to power blackouts, water shortage, flooding, construction at adjacent properties, or mandatory evacuation of the area due to hurricanes or other potentially dangerous situations.
• Guests agree to hold harmless, defend and indemnify The Lazy Bear Cabin, and their representatives for any and all damages and claims of any nature.
• If anything is missing including but not limited to wall décor, TVs, remotes, kitchen utensils, and/or any other household items, tenants will be charged for a replacement.
• Parking is permitted in the driveway only
• No driving on property lawn
• No parties/Events/Groups
• No pets
• Do not wear shoes in the house that can damage our wood floors (Including but not limited to Stiletto heels, tennis shoes with spikes on the bottom, etc.)
• No smoking in the house
• No flushing diapers/tampons/ disposable wipes down toilets
• Firewood is not supplied. Wood is for sale around the lake.
• Outdoor grill must be cleaned after each use. Do not put chemicals on the grill to clean. Grill cleaning utensils are provided.
• Garbage cans are located outside the lower level. Trash gets picked up on Tuesday's, please put the trash out by the road (don’t block mailbox) on Monday night.
• Recycling gets picked up on Thursday's, please put the recycling out by the road (don’t block mailbox) on Wednesday night.
• Cleaning supplies are provided for your use for spills, broken glass, etc.
• Glass bottles are not permitted by the lake. Please do not leave any garbage, plastic bottles, cans, etc. by the lake.
Check Out:
• Please leave the house in the same condition it was when you arrived!
• If you used the kayaks, please put them back on the rack(s) with the oars on the ground below them.
• Leave TV remotes on nightstand or TV stand in their designated room.
• Be sure outdoor grill is clean
• Wash, dry & put away dishes
• Refrigerator & freezer should be emptied except for anything supplied by The Lazy Bear Cabin. Occasionally guests have requested to leave things such as unopened ice cream. If you’d like to leave something unopened for the next guest, please send me a courtesy message.
• Please do not leave garbage in the house (or in the upper deck garbage can) upon departure.
• Please put all dirty linens, towels, etc. on the floor outside of the locked furnace room on the lower level. Any beds that were not used can remain in the condition that you found them.
• Please turn off all lights and shut all blinds.
• Lock all doors before leaving.
• Be sure all garbage from your stay is picked up by the lake.

Our Keurig makes single serve coffee with k-cups. We invite you to bring your favorite K-cups with you to enjoy your morning exactly the way you like it! Waking up at The Lazy Bear Cabin is dreamy but life is always better with coffee.
1. Many homes along the Sacandaga Lake area are located on very steep hills. We are fortunate that our home is on 5 acres that are pretty flat!
2. We see Deer around our apple trees almost every morning and night.
3. Many homes near the lake have neighbors very close by. We are fortunate that we are on a secluded road with little to no traffic and we have ample space between neighbors.
4. Many homes around Sacandaga Lake have little to no cell service. We are fortunate that there is a cell tower close to our home, so we tend to have good cell service.

Neighborhood description:
-You can see gorgeous sunrises/sunsets on The Great Sacandaga Lake. There are several public beaches around the lake.
-Many folks around the lake have reported bear and moose sightings over the years (sometimes they even swim in the lake!)
-We provide many household staples which other listings may not include. Please be thoughtful about this and don't ruin it for future guests. We are only able to offer these things if guests are mindful of only using what they need. (Please don't take our extra paper towels, toilet paper, condiments, tissue boxes, etc. home with you.)
-We have kindly put together a local guide which will be waiting for you in the Cabin. This will help you find fun activities to do, local restaurants, boat launch, public beaches, concert halls, etc.
-We will try our best to make sure you have a wonderful stay! That's what booking a trip is all about, anyway.
P.S. Remember to do your grocery shopping before you arrive. If you forget something, the closest grocery stores are Tops Supermarket or J.F. Farm Store & Café in Northville (20 minute drive).
