On the slopes of Mount Etna with its fascinating landscapes lies this charming vacation home, ideal for a relaxing stay in contact with nature and at the same time not far from the beautiful coast. The accommodation offers an outdoor area equipped for al fresco dining. It is also surrounded by lush vegetation and a beautiful lawn from which you can enjoy spectacular views of the Cyclops coast. Besides excursions on the volcano, you can also admire the famous 100 Cavalli chestnut tree and its particular shape. Take advantage of the good location to reach many interesting places in the area, from Taormina to Catania, Acireale, the characteristic villages of Etna and the spectacular Alcantara Gorges. The house consists of two units connected only by an external staircase. Ideal solution for groups traveling together while maintaining privacy.

Perfect Time at the House by Fabrizio

Our Stay was a Dream. The House have everything You need to cook and feel comfortable. The Garden is so awesome, if the weather is good you can see the ätna on the one side and on the other side you see the sea… We will come back to your House Fabrizio, Thank You for everything! Fabi & Annika

A hidden gem

This place is even more charming than the photos. The manager, Fabrizio, met us at the house and showed us around. The view from every angle is of Mt. Etna or the sea....gorgeous! There were fresh flowers in vases and fresh water in the fridge. Plus, we went down the road to the store Fabrizio owns and we tried local meats, cheese and wine and bought food for the next day. Fabrizio helped arrange a guided tour of Mt Etna, and shared many other food and activity suggestions as well.

First let me say that Fabrizio is a fantastic host and responded immediately to all our requests but there were some problems. The property was advertised as "stunning", I find this a slight exaggeration because it is lacking in quite a few basics. As it is basically two apartments, one would expect the kitchens to be able to cater for two families. Both were lacking in basic items, only one damaged kettle, one very small toaster, no side plates, only two chipped cups, all plates were either chipped or cracked and no knives to cook with. The bathrooms really need some form of heating as they were both quite cold in the morning and both showers are in desperate need of up grading. On a plus side, the beds are very comfortable and sitting around the dining table in the lower apartment in the evening with the fires burning was very pleasant. The garden is amazing with stunning views and bird song plus a good BBQ area with seating. I appreciate it is an old property but it does need some modernisation. If these problems were addressed we would return in a heartbeat. Fabrizio owns a Mini Market in the village which is very convenient for the basics.

Un emplacement de choix

Avec l'Etna fumant derrière et la mer devant..sur les hauteurs de St Alfio, l'endroit verdoyant est particulièrement agréable et reposant . De plus Fabrizzio possède un peu plus bas dans le village un commerce alimentaire ce qui est franchement bien pratique, il sera de bons conseils et réactifs si quelque chose manque . Dans village ...propre..ce qui en Sicile, hélas, est assez rare en dehors des zones délimitées touristiques, vus trouverez divers commerces ( boulangerie,pâtisserie, pharmacie.. fruits légumes..). Opinion générale sur la Sicile assez mitigée..la nature y est belle, certes aride au centre mais cultivée et harmonieuse, les côtes sont magnifiques et les plages nombreuses et immenses.L'Etna est à faire si on a un bon physique pour les 3300m..( 6 h de marche..).on peut aller jusqu'à 3000 avec cabines et 4x4 et contrairement à ce qui est dit; on peut y rester un bon moment faire le tour des deux cratères et redescendre avec un autre groupe..Vulcano...attention...ne se visite au sommet qu'avec un guide ( 65€ ) départ 8h00 et 16h00 uniquement..donc attention aux horaires bateaux..Syrcaruse...décevant..Taormine..superbe..surtout le soir..Sélinonte Ségeste la Vallée des temples..Magique..à profusion..Palerme...mamamia...la circulation..!! à l'italienne en pire..Là aussi attention..polissonnerie ..le Palais Normand et la chapelle Palatine sont groupés..le jeudi le Palais peut être fermé pour cause de réunion..mais le prix restera le même..Plus des tas d'autres choses.

Prachtige locatie

Het huisje ligt rustig, aan het eind van het dorpje. Heerlijke tuin en terras met uitzicht over de zee. De huisjes zijn eenvoudig maar goed. Qua hygiëne mag het zeker wel wat schoner, zeker gezien de schoonmaakkosten die je ook nog betaald. Fabrizio is een hele vriendelijke host, de eerste avond stond hij op de stoep met een zeer uitgebreid boodschappen pakket. Naar de zee is het zo’n 20 minuten rijden, de Etna op is zo’n 45 minuten.

dolce far niente

Das Haus war bezaubernd. Tolle Lage mit atemberaubender Aussicht aufs Meer und den Ätna. Die Vermieter waren sehr nett und sorgten sich gut um uns. Das Haus entsprach unseren Vorstellungen und Ansprüchen. Wir genossen den Aufenthalt in vollen Zügen. Es war perfekt uns von unseren langen abenteuerlichen Tagen zu erholen. Die Lage ist toll, mit dem Auto kommt man schnell überall hin. Auch weitere Ausfahrten sind von diesem Ort super zu machen, z.B. Noto / Lido di Noto. Die Stadt Riposto ist wunderschön und lädt ein zu verweilen. Auch das Dorf in dem wir wohnten konnte man gut Essen. Ich empfehle diesen Vermieter sehr gerne weiter.
