About this property

River, Sauna & Spa - The Farmhouse in Forest

La Baumier offers a complete and private thermal experience, featuring a wood-fired hot tub, a sauna, and direct access to the Pelletier River. A nature retreat in the heart of the Saguenay where comfort, privacy, and well-being come together. The perfect place to slow down, breathe, and unwind — in every season.

A little corner of paradise, ideal for disconnecting. Just minutes from the Monts-Valin, Tadoussac, and the natural wonders of the Saguenay!

Let yourself be lulled by the gentle sound of the river and escape into nature for a truly unique getaway.

Tucked away in the heart of the Saguenay forest, La Baumier is a cozy and inviting tiny house — perfect for a couple or a small family looking for peace, quiet, and a place to truly recharge.

Inside, you’ll find two queen beds, one of which is nestled on a mezzanine accessible by a ladder. From that same ladder, you can climb into a large suspended catamaran-style net — the ideal spot to relax, read, or simply take in the natural surroundings. A sofa bed also allows for up to 6 guests, though for maximum comfort, the space is best suited to a family (not recommended for 4 adults).

The fully equipped kitchen includes:
Two propane burners
A compact refrigerator with freezer
All essential cookware and dishes (including a fondue set)
And a propane BBQ available year-round

Start your mornings right with a coffee from the Keurig machine (one capsule per adult per day included — extras are available at any local grocery store).

The bathroom includes a shower and a high-end composting toilet. Bed linens, towels, and eco-friendly toiletries are provided, including dish soap, body wash, hand soap, and shampoo. We use Pure and Oneka products — gentle on you and on the planet.

To make your stay even more memorable:
An outdoor cabinet filled with books and games for quality family time
A romantic path lit with over 600 feet of soft string lights — perfect for stargazing walks
And of course… your very own private wood-fired Nordic spa and sauna, overlooking the river with a very small private beach.
A deck with a catamaran-style net hammock — perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoor firepit as night falls.

La Baumier offers eco-conscious luxury in the heart of nature. While there’s air conditioning, the riverside setting in a shaded valley keeps the space naturally cool and comfortable all year round.

Please note: this accommodation is not suitable for young children, babies, or people with reduced mobility.

When booking La Baumier, you will have access to the entire unit. The accommodation is attached to La Mélilot in a duplex layout. Rest assured, the unit is well soundproofed, though it is possible to occasionally hear muffled sounds or feel slight vibrations.

You’ll enjoy a beautiful view, private river access, your own hot tub, and a secluded deck — everything you need for a peaceful and intimate stay.

A few important details to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay at Exode en Nature:

Pets
Dogs under 50 lbs are welcome, as long as they are kept on a leash at all times while on the property. Please bring a crate and their food and water bowls to ensure their comfort. Dogs must not be left alone in the unit when you are away — they must stay with you at all times. Unfortunately, cats are not allowed. Thank you for your understanding.

Access to your unit
You’ll need to walk about 600 feet from the parking area to your accommodation. We recommend wearing proper footwear and packing light for your arrival!

General rules

All accommodations are non-smoking.

Each unit includes a maximum of two parking spots.

There is no television, but you’ll have access to Wi-Fi, perfect for staying connected — even for remote work in the forest!

Your private wood-fired spa – a true experience
The Nordic bath is available year-round and heated with wood, right beside the river — a peaceful and authentic way to unwind. The heating process is part of the adventure: you’ll light the fire yourself and enjoy the sounds and smells of nature while the water warms up.

In winter, plan for 5 to 6 hours of heating time on your first day. After that, maintaining the temperature is much quicker. Please note that during very cold weather (below -20°C), you may not be able to reach optimal water temperature despite your efforts. We do not offer a pre-heating service, as the experience is meant to be hands-on and part of the charm.

A full immersion in nature
You are staying in the heart of the forest, which means you may come across insects, small critters, or even wildlife — a completely normal part of the experience and not related to cleanliness, which is a top priority. We kindly ask that you keep doors closed to avoid inviting any little visitors inside.

Super cozy and romantic place!

We loved our stay! The ambiance is really beautiful with the evening lights, cozy fireplace, hot tub etc. All amenities were provided. Beds were comfy and sleeps 2 couples or a small family well. Vicky and Patrick were so welcoming and friendly. They were helpful with anything we needed. We visited the surrounding areas, snowshoeing were close and great trails. Lots of view points. We will be back in the summer to enjoy the lovely creek and nearby hiking. Thank you again! Jennifer and Philippe
