About this property

Holiday suite "Chalet" in the "Ferienhaus Burgcafé"

Our approx. 400-year-old town house lies in the middle of the listed town center of the smallest town in Franconia, the beautiful town of Betzenstein. There are no 60 houses and barns within the largely intact city walls, and no more than 200 people seem to live here. That, and the fact that the small town is surrounded by the most beautiful Franconian nature and also has no through traffic, probably make u. a. this very special charm of this place. It happens almost as if by magic - but within a very short time you will be completely decelerated and calmed down, so that you can then really relax and recover. That is exactly what makes a good holiday at the core, and Betzenstein offers it all.
The entire house is only available to our holiday guests and has a total of three different sized living units and a small private café on the ground floor. There is also a funny and chic laundrette, where you can wash / dry for a small fee - or where you can just stay a little longer because the equipment invites you to do so. On hot summer days there is hardly a more pleasant place in the whole house. A good meter thick walls and fresh air in the draft - wonderful.

Our apartments:
Our three holiday apartments (8, 4 and 2-3 beds) were each designed with great care and attention to detail. Each unit has its own special charm and character and is unmistakable. That is why you have each been given your own name - "Belle Etage", "Chalet" and "Burgblick". Their furnishings consist of a mix of furniture of different styles. From the Art Nouveau cabinet to the modern sideboard to the Biedermeier sofa. Modern and old are in harmony here. A piece of "good old days" could also be said, but thanks to the modern technology installed in the house and apartments (including WLAN / Flats / LED-RGB lighting) you are also up to date here. One could call this mixture of tradition and modernity “Landurban”. As far as your technology requirements are concerned, at least you don't have to cut corners with us.

The terrace area in front of the house is available to all guests. Here you can have breakfast, drink a coffee, have a barbecue - whatever. Only the winter furniture can be seen in the pictures. In the summer, several wooden tables and chairs are set up. A redesign is planned for summer 2020.

Our bug café:
Our “Burgcafé” is an area on the ground floor that was previously used as public coffee with an attached vaulted kitchen. The area is perfect for family and friend gatherings (up to around 20 people). The Burgcafé can be booked separately, in combination with at least one of the two holiday apartments "Belle Etage" or "Chalet". Here you can spend wonderful hours together by the fireplace in the most pleasant atmosphere, etc. The area is of course fully equipped with everything you need for a communal get-together - great kitchen, lots of games, a cozy fireplace, a large flat (75 inches) for joint cinema or photo evenings, music system, equipment for light show, etc.

Who or what are we suitable for?
So far, all generations have felt comfortable with us. There is no age restriction at all. But since we are a "town house" and therefore have no play area for small children directly at the house, we are probably best suited for families with children from approx. 10 years. For the “youngest” there is also a really nice, large adventure playground with cable car etc. behind the Schlossberg (5 romantic minutes on foot).

Our house is also ideal for family gatherings of several generations / family branches / groups of friends. Everyone has their own room in one of the suites as a personal retreat and at the same time in the Burgcafé you have a place where everyone can meet and spend time together in a nice atmosphere. Cooking, playing, storytelling - everyone has always been enthusiastic. Whether young or old.

How am I cared for?
In the old town of Betzenstein everything is just a few small steps away. 100 meters are already far here.

Kolb Bakery (1 minute):
A classic "mom-and-pop landing", which in this form is unlikely to be found too often in Germany. Too bad. Here you will find everything - from fresh bread and cake to food / refrigerated counters to sewing thread or washing powder. Of course you can also get a nice little conversation - if you want. It's wonderful that this business is here.

Butcher Wirth (1.5 minutes):
The very best handmade Franconian meat, grill and sausage products. Really excellent quality from our own slaughterhouse.

Flower Otto (1 minute):
Here you can get flowers and fresh fruit and vegetables. And, of course, a nice little chat if necessary.

restaurants:
There are two nice restaurants within walking distance. Both with a beautiful outdoor terrace. One of them meets high standards and is only 100 meters away. From 2020 there will also be a very nice little forest beer garden in Betzenstein.

What can i do?
The possibilities are almost endless. Of course, there is a greater choice by car than on foot, but you can also do a lot on foot or by bike.
- Really very nice heated outdoor pool in 10 Romanesque minutes.
- At the same point there is also a really nice climbing garden.
- A large number of hiking trails run through Betzenstein, whether small or large tours. The same applies to bike tours (there are tours that take your breath away from sheer beauty - or make you cry with happiness. Everyone reacts differently there. The Jakobsweg also leads directly through the village.
- In addition to tourist information (1 minute), Betzenstein itself also has several medieval monuments, e.g. B. City gates, fountains, church.
- In winter, depending on snow conditions, you can go cross-country skiing or a little downhill skiing. There is a small pull lift nearby.
- City tours to Nuremberg, Bayreuth or Bamberg.
- We are one of the world's most important climbing and bouldering areas. From here you can reach the most exciting climbing areas on foot. There is also a shop for climbing equipment in the village.
- Therme Obernsees - there is an impressive sauna area with a variety of saunas and pools. I have rarely seen a more beautiful facility.
- There are many old castles and palaces and stalactite caves in the area. Everything to "touch", because often in private hands.
- Etc. I could write whole pages now!

The pictures and rental conditions shown in this ad belong to our holiday suite "Chalet".

I am looking forward to your visit. You will want to come back - I promise! Thank you for treating us and our house with appreciation. We have made it just as respectful for you.
