About this property

Campbell Cottage in Key West

Location...Location...Location! Campbell Cottage is perfectly located to walk to almost everything Key West has to offer. Campbell Cottage is the perfect place for living large in an intimate, comfortable one bedroom/one bath cottage. A locked privacy fence surrounds the lushly landscaped Campbell Courtyard compound, which has an enticing Monaco pool at its center. You can step off your front porch onto the deck of the large, heated, residents-only pool.
Location is another element contributing to the appeal. Despite its tranquility, the location is only two blocks off world-famous Duval Street and three blocks from the Historic Seaport, both must-experience destinations in Key West.

If you like warm weather and sunny skies, you'll love floating in Campbell Courtyard's dazzling pool, gazing up at occasional puffy white cumulus or a squadron of pelicans flying over in formation. Afterwards slather on SPF lotion and sun yourself on one of the chaise loungers while you nap in paradise. When you want shade, move to the table and chairs on the pool's deck or the table and chairs on your own covered front porch.

Once you enter Campbell Cottage, one of the first things you notice is how the wood flooring creates a flow and sense of solid footing. Then you notice the rounded glass-brick accent wall, a beautiful design inclusion. The unit takes its color scheme from the tropics-shades of red, orange, green, and blues. The deep cushioned couch also doubles as a single pull-out bed. Of course there's wireless high-speed internet, AC, cable, and washer and dryer. A coffee table, chairs, cabinets, and Samsung curved 40" UHD Smart LED TV complete the living room.

Adjacent is the kitchen/dining space, including rich wood cabinets that add beauty and storage. All the appliances you'd expect are efficiently arranged across the L-shape counter. A ceiling fan whirs above the dining bar, which can also serve as extra counter space if you're preparing an elaborate meal. Sheer curtains float over sliding glass doors next to the kitchen area. The sliding glass opens onto a small private back deck with barbeque grill.

To the right, a full bath features a round sink nestled on a showpiece red cabinet. One bath door opens from the hall and another from the bedroom. The bedroom has been updated to ensure head-to-toe relaxation with twin adjustable beds you can raise and lower while reading, watching TV, or just lounging. They could be separated or combined to provide king -sized comfort. The room also provides a chest of drawers for your foldable items, a generous hanging closet, and ceiling fan above. A louvered window creates privacy and allows plenty of ambient light.

When you're unpacked and ready, slip into your flip-flops and head out to explore the rest of the Southernmost City. Head up Fleming three blocks to Margaret and turn left. At the corner of Margaret and Caroline you are about a hundred feet from the Historic Seaport and Harbor Walk. Follow the wooden boardwalk along the Gulf of Mexico to find historic tall ships offering day and sunset cruises or take an all-day ferry excursion to the Dry Tortugas. If you're interested in watersports, there's all kinds-diving, fishing, parasailing, snorkeling, and jet skiing to name a few. If you get hungry, a dozen or so restaurants of varying levels of informality ring the harbor. Maybe sit under a banyan tree filled with tiny white lights while you eat a fresh Mahi sandwich and listen to local musicians.

Or walk two blocks the other direction to Duval Street to check out tours, museums, shopping, more restaurants, more bars (such as world famous Sloppy Joe's) and the Key West Aquarium where you can pet a shark if you dare. Top tier music, concerts, theatrical productions, and comedy shows can be seen at the nearby historic Waterfront Playhouse, Red Barn Theater, and the Key West Theater. Experience the Thirsty Mermaid Raw Bar Restaurant that is less than a block away on Fleming Street. Check you cellphone for sunset time so you don't miss the daily celebration at Mallory Square where locals and visitors alike gather to witness the sun sinking into the horizon. Be sure to applaud as the last round edge of fiery orange disappears. If you're lucky, maybe you'll catch the elusive neon green flash at the last second. But it's not yet time to put your day at rest; instead hang around for the party as artists and street performers entertain the crowd with magic, juggling fire, telling fortunes, and selling handmade items. Don't miss Dominique and his Flying House Cats, an amazing feline troupe that jumps through hoops of fire, walks tightropes, and performs other astounding circus feats.
