THE PROPERTY: Bohemian bits indoors and lush landscaping outdoors will give you that tropical island feeling you are looking for. Warm wood tones and exposed beams can be found in the main living area. The family room with sofa, chair, and TV is open to the kitchen and dining areas. A wooden island with seating is the perfect place to enjoy a snack or beverage. A bright kitchen provides all that you will need to prepare meals. However, while on vacation, you may prefer to walk to one of Old Town’s amazing restaurants.

The bedroom is white and bright and adorned with bedside lamps and a nightstand. A dresser and closet provide you with storage. A partial wall with high shelves and a draped entrance separates the bedroom from the central living areas. You can also access the outdoor space from the bedroom. The bathroom is cozy and bright with a pedestal sink, tiled walk-in shower, and shelf storage.

This unit in the duplex home comes with shared outdoor amenities including a deck under a giant Banyan tree, a grill, and an outdoor washer and dryer. Solaris Garden is ideal for the traveler looking for walkability as well as the desire to kick back and relax in a casual, carefree home.

SOLARIS GARDEN occupies the back section of this first-floor duplex home. SOLARIS COTTAGE occupies the front section of this duplex home. For information on renting both parts of this duplex, please see SOLARIS PAIR-A-DISE.

BED CONFIGURATION: The queen bedroom is cozy and comfortable for 1 or 2 guests.

OUTDOOR AMENITIES: This duplex home shares an outdoor garden area, deck, chairs, grill, and washer/dryer.

PARKING: There is no designated parking for this rental, however, there is usually parking available on nearby Petronia and Angela Streets. To avoid a parking ticket, please be sure that you don’t park in a spot labeled "residential", as these are assigned to full-time residents.

LOCATION: The property is on a tiny, one-way lane in Old Town, North of Truman Avenue and just a block and a half from Duval Street. Leave your car at home because you are just a short walk or bike ride to many tourist attractions, bars, restaurants, shops, and galleries including Mallory Square, known for breathtaking sunsets and performers.

PETS: One (1) dog allowed, up to 25 lbs, for an additional fee and completion of Pet Information addendum. Must be 1 year of age or older. Must be spayed/neutered. All vaccinations must be up to date. Please be advised some breeds are not permitted. Sorry, cats are not allowed.

SMOKING: This is a non-smoking home and property.

Hide away in the Keys

Excellent Location

We absolutely loved this place! It was well eqiuipped, close to everything & so quiet at night. The patio was so relaxing and secluded and the foliage was beautiful! We would definitely recommend this place and will stay here again!

Cozy, comfortable apartment with interesting touches and a relaxing, communal outdoor area filled with lovely tropical plants. Nice host, and management is very responsive. Enjoyed our stay—and the location.

We were quite happy with this property. It was attractive, well appointed, clean and VERY private, which was nice. The property manager was also very helpful and very nice. Overall I would highly recommend this property, especially if you want a private or romantic getaway.

Great place In Key West

We loved the house. Close to everything. Very clean, comfortable. All the necessary items needed for an evening staying in to cook, watch movies. They also provided maps and lists of things to do and see which was nice being this was our first time staying in Key West. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again

Anniversary Trip

This place is very quaint! Something out of vanity fair. Very close to everything. Get a scooter - no room for a car and if you are really going to go local and have a great time, get a scooter. Especially if there with the one you love! The only criticism (and it is small) is that they state they have everything you need there for you and they do not. Towels, blankets (you would be surprised how nice it is to wrap up after getting sun kissed, showered and lower the ac!), some items in the kitchen, etc. - you get the idea. Not a show stopper but an area for improvement. Overall, we will be coming back to Key West and will be staying here.

Solaris Garden

The house was a lot smaller than it looked online. It was very clean and well appointed. There was very little outdoor area to speak of. The shower had very little pressure and it would vary from scalding hot to cold on its own. It was a cute place but we needed more space, my husband must have jammed his knees or stubbed his toes numerous times because things were so tight. I must say that the rental company we went through was exceptional and very gracious to work with. We would definitely use them again. Thank you for an overall lovely stay!

Labor Day Weekend Getaway as a Family of 4

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I decided to take our first road trip over the long Labor Day weekend with our dogs. We decided to use VRBO to find a place in Key West, Florida. Success! We found a spot in the historic downtown area at a very reasonable price, especially for a holiday weekend. The condo we chose was just the right size for the two of us plus two dogs. It was super clean, cozy, and within walking distance to everything. That was our highlight, we could walk to everything and be home throughout the days to take care of the dogs when we didn’t take them with us. The rental team was also super nice and helpful as we got situated. After booking the condo and paying for the 2 nights through VRBO, we were sent a new contract, slightly changing the terms and making it seem as though the management company still had to approve two dogs and requiring an additional $45.00 non-refundable insurance charge. It was off putting because we had reached an agreement and paid in full, and if we didn’t agree with the new contract we couldn’t get out of the original contract or get our money back because the payment was non-refundable at the time it was paid as it was booked so close to the reservation date. To top it off, 24 hours before our arrival we received a call that a mistake was made and they had overlooked that we had 2 dogs and that there was a 1 pet policy. No such policy was stated anywhere in either contract. They allowed us to bring the two dogs, but we had to pay an additional $150 pet deposit because it is a “per pet” fee. Then, 4 hours before our arrival our card was charged again without permission for $18.75 by the management company. When I called to inquire why, I was told it was because another mistake was made and the taxes weren’t included to my second dog deposit. This charge was reversed when challenged but still made us hesitant if this was going to be

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Solaris Garden is tucked away on a very quiet street, but steps away from all the activity Key West has to offer. The home is very well kept and has the total bungalow feel to it. Has a private bathroom off the bedroom a nice secluded front porch for sitting out or laying out on. The exposed wood on the ceiling is a perfect touch. Home comes with everything you need to include cleaning items down to laundry detergent pods as their is a washer and dryer outside off the bedroom. Unfortunately the dryer was not connected so I just had to hang everything up to air dry, but I consider that a champagne problem in Key West. The management company was wonderful and very accommodating. I would absolutely recommend this as a very quaint and secluded place to stay where you will feel safe and almost everything is within walking distance to include Southernmost point, Mallory Square and the historic marina area. Great price also! My thanks for a wonderful time!
