This is a quiet secluded Hyco Lake cottage located on the south end of the lake without a lot of boat traffic. It's a one bedroom, one bath cottage that opens to a front deck. We block off the main house if this cottage is rented so you will have the property to yourself. You may also use the screened-in porch and lower concrete patio of the main house during your stay. Due to the water being shallower on this end of the lake (typically 3ft at end of dock) only fishing boats are allowed at the dock. We have our boats on the lifts but there are cleats and bumpers if you need to tie up your fishing boat. There are two kayaks with paddles and life jackets available for your use. We have fold-out chairs also at the dock for your use.
WiFi Internet is available. Bed Linens and towels are provided. No cats allowed and maximum of one dog must be crated if not supervised.
The maximum number of people for this rental is two adults and one child.

We had a great time and hope to visit again. It was unfortunate the lake had restrictions as far as water recreation but of course this was by no fault of the owner/host. Even so... we were able to fish and I caught the biggest (7 to 8lb) bass from the dock as well as other fish. Again I will say, it was a great time/weekend get away. Looking forward to our next get away there.Thank You Chris!
This place is off the beaten path but not terribly far from all you need. I stayed with my pup while visiting family in VA/NC and it was the perfect halfway point. Will definitely stay again.
This is a lovely spot to stay for folks who want quiet and seclusion. I came here with my dog while we were visiting family nearby. We had fun scooting around the shallow lake and watching the leaves fall. Very comfortable spot with the all the basics.
This was a perfect little cottage stay right on the lake. It was beautiful and not too far off the main road which was nice. The owner was very easy to get in touch with and kept constant communication.
This was absolutely the perfect lakefront cottage for two. It was simple, yet cozy.... exactly what we wanted. We loved sitting on the dock fishing and observing the egrets, heron, Canadian geese and even a bald eagle. We also paddled around the cove in the kayaks provided. We caught catfish, bass and perch. The kitchen was supplied with the appliances we needed to cook some tasty meals at our temporary home away from home. The cottage is small but perfect for one or two. If you don't like being cozied up close to your travel partner....don't choose this one. If you wish to eat out there are restaurants within 20-30 minute driving distance and a Dollar General close by. Be sure to stop at the local shops in Milton, the shop owner at the art gallery was awesome. Chris was quick and responsive to any questions and quickly resolved a hot water issue. We were able to go sit in the screened in porch at the main house that had a porch swing that overlooked the lake as well. I spent every morning sitting on the cottage deck with my coffee and a blanket watching the lake come alive with wildlife! It was a perfect getaway, highly recommend. Book it now!
Great location and Owner was super responsive. House is small but deck is awesome. Wi-Fi was great since I had to work. TV is very basic. Overall a great spot.
As advertised this is a small, clean house right on the lake with access to a dock and beautiful view. My husband fished, kayaked and floated around while I sat on the dock reading as many books as possible. It was exactly what we were looking for, peaceful and relaxing. The house is small but there is a large sliding glass door with a view of the lake from the bed and a lovely front porch. We spent nearly the whole time hanging out on the dock.

Hi I'm Chris and I started coming up to Hyco lake with my brother Craig when we were kids along with our Dad to fish. We'd bring our grandfather's 1956 3HP Johnson outboard on a 12ft john boat for a day of fishing. In the early 90's we bought this property on Hyco Lake and built the boat dock. Shortly after we built the 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage so we could spend multiple days at the lake. Our family eventually built a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home on the property. Both Craig's and my kids grew up spending many great times here boating, fishing, skiing and wake-boarding. We love this place and hope you will enjoy it also.
