The home was very nice. There were some inconsistencies in the different versions of the information (beach gear in the basement but there was not access to the basement). In kitchen, there were only two table knives. It would be helpful to have directions for operating the ice machine. We figured it out. But we had a very nice time at the house.

We recently finished a big basement project and are in the process of reorganizing where we store our beach gear, so we apologize for the inconsistency in the information. We'll be updating our house guide to reflect the current setup. We also appreciate you letting us know about the table knives. During our busy summer season, items occasionally disappear between turnovers, and we would have been happy to bring more over had we known. Those are now replaced so thank you! The suggestion to include instructions for the ice maker is a great one and we'll be adding those to our information book. The property is in a phenomenal location and has the potential to be really great, however, the house is in dire need of attention. It is not well-maintained at all and looks like it hasn’t been for quite some time.Many things did not work, such as common things like burned out lightbulbs throughout the house, icemaker does not work, couches and chairs are extremely dilapidated, decks are in very bad need of painting and are chipping everywhere, the back and front yard are full of weeds and in need of attention. The house itself could be wonderful, but again, just know what you’re getting into as I think we very much overpaid for what we got. Pillows were terrible and very yellow. which we found when we removed all the sheets at the end of the day, the third floor has a two mattresses laying in a corner without sheets and looks really bad. We ran into a neighbor from another house that we’ve rented in the past, and apparently it’s known that the house is not maintained at all. The owners live in another state and don’t maintain it Just know before you rent!

We were disappointed to read this review particularly because none of these concerns were. brought to our attention during the stay. NOT ONE. Had we been notified of items such as a light bulb or questions about how something operated (the ice machine is brand new and works fine, along with all new appliances in the kitchen, new A/C, new furnace) we would have responded immediately, as we always strive to resolve any issue while our guests are still in the home. We respectfully disagree with the characterization that the property is poorly maintained. The home is professionally cleaned, regularly maintained (just had carpets cleaned, paint touched up, and numerous outside and basement improvements). The comments suggesting the home is neglected or generally not maintained simply do not reflect the condition of the property or the experience reflected in our 9.4/10 rating from almost 100 reviews, which are inclusive of very recent ones. We believe it is important to let future guests know that the only issue during this stay was during the check out in which the guest was not checking out on time and left the cleaners standing waiting for an hour at which point we had to charge an extra fee because in the busy summer months it put everyone behind. We always welcome honest, constructive feedback and work hard to provide every guest with a wonderful stay and have many repeat visitors!

Girls' Weekend!

The house was perfect for us as 5 women getting together for a girls' weekend in South Haven. Close to downtown close to the beach, and the third floor balcony was great for visiting and watching the sunset and storms. Totally recommend!

This is our 2nd time to stay at this house. The location is just perfect. Super easy walk to town and an easy walk to the beach! Check-in and communication were awesome. The kids loved their 3rd floor compound! The 3rd floor balcony has amzing views and a lock up high on the door to keep little from opening it on their own! The perfect space for a large family group. We had 13 ranging in age from 10 weeks to 63 years.

Spacious gathering space for a large family

The spacious kitchen/family room felt roomy enough for our large family. The fenced backyard with a large deck provided a safe space for the younger children especially. Being close to town was handy too.

We loved Panellas place! Plenty of room for the whole family. The house was super clean. The views were fantastic. It was a relaxing, hassle-free, enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend that anyone visiting South Haven stay at the Panellas Place. We will not have to shop around for places to stay again. This will be our go-to place.

Perfect location for Icebreakers

Stayed 2 nights with a group of 12 people for icebreakers. Loved the location, roomy kitchen and living room. The couple lucky enough to arrive last stayed in the upper level and had a beautiful view of the water (and those of us there early enough to see the sunset enjoyed that from the upper level). Accommodations were excellent, will definitely stay again!

Girls weekend

We had such a great time staying at this beautiful home! This was our second time staying at this house. The kitchen was a perfect spot for gathering, and the bedrooms were super cozy. I grew up in South Haven and spent my entire childhood just minutes from this home. After attending Michigan State, I moved to Florida, but my heart has always stayed here. My family and closest friends still live in South Haven, and I return with my own family every summer. Hosting this home allows me to share the joy, beauty, and memories of this special town with others. I currently live in Tampa, Florida, but South Haven will always be “home.”

I purchased and lovingly renovated this home in 2005 because of its extraordinary character and history. The property is over 100 years old and was originally part of the iconic Grand Hotel overlooking the bluff. The neighborhood offers the perfect blend of charm, walkability, and peaceful views. It’s ideal for gathering family and friends, and the upgraded amenities and open layout were designed specifically for entertaining and creating unforgettable memories.
