We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The place was cozy and clean, and stocked with everything we could need. It was a great location to explore the island from. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Beautiful cottage by the water in quiet corner of the world. We loved staying at this cute two bedroom cottage with perfect nautical aesthetic. The owner had everything available you could need for your stay, complete with suggestions for favorite spots on the island. We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed here in August 2023. The property has a lovely deck with plenty of comfortable seating to watch sunsets over the lagoon. The home is well decorated and has a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed our stay and hope you do, too!
What a gem of a place! This home suited us perfectly for our weekend getaway to Whidbey Island. Super clean, cute and funtional decor and furnishings, and well stocked with everything you need. We loved the front deck with sunset views over the water, wildlife watching (eagles, harrons and deer!), and general location all around. Great communication from the owner too. Highly recommend!
My daughter and I came over for our annual beach vacation- the house is beautiful and so welcoming! We could not have asked for a better place to rest and rejuvenate ! Thank you
We had a wonderful time! The host was quick in responding and made us welcomed and comfortable.
The house is cozy, very well stocked, roomy and has a great water and mountain view. The neighborhood is quiet and unique.
We would recommend it!
We had a lovely time enjoying the last days of warm, sunny PNW weather during our short stay! The house was clean, warm/inviting, and had nice views out the big windows and on the large deck! The neighborhood was quiet and great for biking/walking/scootering with kids and has two access points to the water/beach. Perfect way to recharge.

Sometimes you just need to do a staycation in your home state, let go of your daily grind and unwind. This is the perfect place to do just that. This quaint cottage setting has all the amenities without all the stresses. Enjoying wine and cheeses on the deck at sunset was divine. Quiet neighborhood, a deer welcoming committee, boat watching, dominos and backgammon… it was the perfect weekend. Our hosts were easy to contact and very responsive when we arrived and needed some assistance accessing the house. We came to explore the island and it didn’t disappoint! Looking forward to our next visit very soon! Oh and Greenbank Pantry & Deli does have THE BEST sandwiches!!
Absolutely heavenly cottage in cute neighborhood with a beautiful view of the water and sunsets! My best friend and I had a lovely long weekend here and it was perfection. The cottage is decorated superbly with an amazing eye for detail and comfort. The bathroom and kitchen were fully stocked with everything we could have needed. The neighborhood is adorable and we enjoyed taking walks each day and all the neighbors were so friendly saying hello as we passed. The cottage is located just a few minutes from the major towns such as Coupeville, Langley, and such. The island has so many shops, beautiful views, and delicious bakeries too! But we actually loved the relaxing comfortable vibe of the cottage so much that we spent every morning just sitting in the chairs looking out at the water and chatting for hours, and we made sure to be back each evening in time to watch the sunset from the deck. This cottage has set the bar high for future girls trips! The owners were kind and communicated wonderfully, they also have a binder of many suggestions for restaurants, hikes, and activities for your stay, which was so helpful. Just as a side note if you love watching deer, they were in the front yard every morning of our stay!

Thank you so much for the detailed review on sunset cottage on Whidbey!
I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful property on Whidbey Island. As you approach the property, it feels as if you’re coming back to your grandmother’s neighborhood beach cabin.
However, when you step inside, everything has been modernized in just the right way. The house is light and airy. The blue and white color choice makes everything peaceful and “beach- like. “
Everything that you could need to make your stay enjoyable is there for your use. The kitchen has modern appliances and for folks who love to cook - everything is there.
We did not have a chance to use the barbecue or the bikes, sitting there for our usage.
The owner has a very detailed, helpful instruction manual for both the house and for making your trip to Whidbey Island, more enjoyable. We did get a chance to take a leisurely walk along the lagoon. Everyone there friendly and quick to say hello. Cannot beat the sunsets looking out to the canal.
All communication with the owner was efficient, personable, and response time was amazing.
As you can tell, I would go back to this VRBO tomorrow. What a delightful find.
We had a fantastic time staying at this lovely cottage! The view from the deck was great and enjoyable. The owner was incredibly helpful, friendly, and always quick to respond to any questions we had. They even went above and beyond by providing a blow-up bed for the kids, allowing the adults to have their own rooms, which was a huge plus!
The cottage was very well stocked with all the essentials and more. They had everything we needed, including spices, coffee, shampoo, conditioner, and much more. So, no need to worry about packing those items!
The owner also had a helpful book filled with all the necessary information, such as how to connect to Wi-Fi and interesting facts about the location. It was a great resource during our stay.
The deck was an excellent place to relax, and the neighborhood was charming and safe. We highly recommend bringing your kids' bikes or scooters to explore the area. We were lucky enough to spot lots of wildlife, including deer and eagles, which added to the overall experience.
The cottage itself was wonderfully designed and well-maintained. Everything was in perfect condition, making our stay even more enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation spot!
Overall, our experience at this cottage was nothing short of amazing. We had a memorable and enjoyable stay, and we can't wait to return. Thank you to the owner for making our trip so special!

About the host

We found this way of life so relaxing and many friends were always wanting to come for the weekends so we thought; why not share our beautiful spot with others.
Why they chose this property
The cottage faces west with a full view of sunsets over the sound. We sit above the lagoon where boats go in and out the jetty. It is not unusual to sit out on the deck and watch the deer grazing and wandering with their babies.
What makes this property unique
Our small community is quite unique with lots of water craft coming and going. The roads throughout are great for walking or biking. Just a mile away is a state park with beautiful forest, huge old trees and plenty of wildlife.
