About this property
Cozy cabin w/hot tub & fire pit pet-friendly
Summary:
Escape to a cozy mountain cabin where crisp air, quiet mornings and starry evenings invite you to unwind. Relax on the private deck, grill your favorite meals, and drift into the night under a canopy of stars.
- Sleeps 8 | 2 bedrooms | 5 beds | 1 bath
- Hot tub & fire pit for cozy evenings
- Deck w/ BBQ grill & spacious backyard
- River access (5‑min drive) + kayaks
- Wifi & dedicated workspace
- Pet‑friendly, family‑ready cabin
The Space:
Quiet mornings arrive with a soft hush over the Great Cacapon hills, the air fresh and crisp as buds begin to unfurl. Steam curls from the hot tub as you step out onto the deck, and the scent of pine mingles with the faint perfume of early‑season wildflowers. As evening settles, the fire pit glows, inviting you to gather under a sky brightening with stars. Here the mountain’s gentle rhythm encourages you to slow down and reconnect with nature.
Sleeping arrangements
The single ‑level cabin offers two bedrooms. The master bedroom holds a queen bed, while the second bedroom features two sets of bunk beds, providing flexible space for families or small groups. A full bath with a bathtub and bathroom essentials is shared.
Indoor living
Heating and air conditioning keep the cabin comfortable through changing spring weather. A dedicated workspace and reliable Frontier Fiber Wi‑Fi let you stay connected when needed, and the TV is ready for relaxed evenings. A washer and dryer add convenience for longer stays, and the open layout remains stair‑free throughout.
Kitchen & dining
A fully equipped kitchen invites you to prepare hearty breakfasts and comforting dinners. Gather around the dining area for meals together, then enjoy coffee on the deck as the sun rises over the forested valley.
Outdoor living
Step onto the large deck with a BBQ grill, perfect for cooking al fresco while the woods listen. The hot tub and outdoor fire pit provide cozy spots for evening relaxation. Yard games and board games are available for guests of all ages, and free parking with a private entrance makes arrivals simple.
River access & surroundings
A short five‑minute drive leads to private access on the Cacapon River, where you can launch the provided kayaks, fish, or dip in the water when conditions allow. The cabin’s secluded setting limits cell service, offering a true chance to unplug while still providing internet access.
Neighborhood notes
Mountain roads wind to the property; AWD or 4×4 is recommended in winter, though most front‑wheel‑drive vehicles manage safely in dry conditions. Berkeley Springs lies about a twenty‑minute drive away, offering restaurants, breweries, shops, and an arts scene. A new home under construction nearby may generate daytime activity, but work is limited to normal hours.
Perfect for
Pet‑friendly and family‑ready, this cabin suits couples, families, or small groups seeking a peaceful retreat with simple comforts, outdoor space, and easy access to nature. Whether you soak in the hot tub after a cool hike, cook together in the kitchen, or simply listen to the mountain’s quiet, the cabin provides a calm, grounding place to slow down and reconnect.

About the host
Hosted by Tony Cappaert
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and the Green Rabbit in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
