Bait and Switch
Booked this property a year ago carefully looking at the photos and reviews. The owner was suppose to meet us there the day that we arrived but we could not contact him. When we arrived, we noticed that the photos and the actual unit were definitely very different with wall pictures missing amongst other deficiencies. The place was filthy!. My wife and I cleaned it ourselves, purchasing cleaning supplies.because it was so dirty.We finally got ahold of the owner, and he said that the reason he did not meet us was because his property manager had been hit by a bus! He also said that because it was such a tight turn around, that the cleaning may have not been done well. We exclaimed that we were missing linens, towels, and much more. The hot water was not working so he sent in a young girl who did not know anything about hot water tanks along with six beer! Finally a man came in and found a clogged gas line. It gets better! Half of the lights don’t work, there is mold, the couch has so many stains, I would call it a science experiment. We asked him for a toaster and some chairs for the deck as the others were falling apart, He sent plastic chairs and tea towels after a week.. He said that he was having a problem with the VRBO app and this is why he was not getting back to us. Not my problem. I did reach out to VRBO, but was told to deal with the owner. Disappointing experience.
