Leave the buzz of the city behind and enjoy a retreat at this cozy, rustic cabin, nestled into a quiet, wooded lot with views of nearby Golden Gate State Park's mountains. The neighborhood is a very quaint and quiet mountain neighborhood where each house sits on at least an acre lot with dirt roads that are maintained and plowed by the county. The backyard feels very private even though there are houses fairly close by because of the layout of the trees and a privacy fence. The cabin is at 9000 feet elevation and is always cooler than Denver and Boulder, and the mountain winds can blow in rain, snow and rainbows.

The neighborhood landmark is a gas station and convenience store called Taggarts or Hi Market, which is close enough to be convenient, but far enough away to feel quiet and secluded at the cabin. There is a restaurant/bar 4 miles away, a holistic market 2 miles away, and a brewery & coffee shop 7 miles away. Rollinsville is 6.5 miles away and is a quaint town with a coffee shop, brewery, distillery and pizza restaurant. The fun and funky town of Nederland is 11 miles away, with many restaurants, breweries and shops. Historic Black Hawk and Central City’s casinos and picturesque Victorian buildings are 9 miles away. There are dozens of fabulous hiking, biking, and snowshoeing trails nearby, Eldora ski resort is 15 miles away, and you might even be able to catch some live music in Nederland. But you can easily leave it all behind and unplug and relax in the cozy eco-cabin.
You have access to the whole cabin, front deck, back deck, yard and private hot tub. There are two parking spaces at the top and a 50 feet walk down a sloped driveway to get inside. If it is snowing please park at the top. Third parking spot is in the driveway, and guests MUST back into the driveway so you can get out face forward in the winter. If not, you might get stuck.
Free Parking | Free Wifi | Free Firewood!

The cabin is on an acre lot at 9,000 feet elevation with spectacular views of the mountains of Golden Gate Canyon State Park. The cabin is surrounded by pine trees and a few aspens. Sometimes moose, deer and elk come and visit. You will definitely see birds such as hawks, ravens, woodpeckers and owls to name a few. We have a plant guide for those who want to see what plants grow around here. The hot tub deck was designed for visual privacy from neighbors. Cabin is 1200 square feet plus 500 square feet for the decks.

Sustainable features: Organic teas, coffee, spices. Organic sheets and towels. Up-cycled furniture and plates. Non-toxic soaps, shampoos, conditioners and cleaning products. We provide reusable water bottles with artesian well water - good for the body and soul. We recycle. We provide reusable towels to clean up after yourself. The cabin is cleaned with non-toxic cleaning products as much as possible. We want to be as sustainable as possible.

The living room has a couch, loves seat, and a TV and high quality bluetooth speaker with a fun collection of DVDs. The space is designed to encourage slowing down and connecting with yourself, your loved ones, and nature. If you need to work, there is good WiFi throughout the cabin, along with a desk in each bedroom. This is a magical retreat place for people who want body and soul rejuvenation.

Living room: Sofa, love seat, chairs, coffee table, TV, DVD player, bluetooth speaker, wood-burning stove and FREE firewood.

Kitchen: fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances, coffee grinder, french press, coffee maker, hot water kettle, quality knives, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, silverware, serving platters and bowls, blender, teapot, spices, oil, tea, condiments, and just about everything you need to cook and serve a delicious meal.

Dining area: dining table that seats six and spotting telescope.

Bedrooms: Each bedroom was consciously designed with a healing plant or tree theme, and is outfitted with luxuriously soft, organic linens, as well as a yoga mat for your use. Master bedroom has a deck connected to it that overlooks the mountains.

Bathrooms: The two bathrooms both have a shower and full bath, organic towels and natural body care products.

Deck: The outdoor deck has a small dining table, chairs, hammock, lounge chairs, gas grill, and hot tub with sunrise, sunset and star views.

Cozy Weekend Getaway
We had a cozy, relaxing and peaceful winter weekend getaway from the city at the cabin. The wood burning stove was great and the spa was nice in the snow. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. The listing is correct about the driveway. If you don't have a 4WD with good tires and it's snowy and icy, which it was during our stay, you have to park at the top. We didn't have a problem, but anyone with physical limitations or hesitations should not walk down the driveway when it's snowy and icy. There are no hand rails and it would be very difficult unloading or loading your car. Our host was very responsive and communicative. Someone came and shoveled off the whole parking area, driveway, and decks. I would recommend staying at this cabin for relaxation and peacefulness. I think the decks would be great in the summer!

Great mountain getaway!
This cabin had it all! Great location, nice amenities, a hot tub, and beautiful views. The sunrise and moonrise from the back porch were particularly stunning, as was the night sky full of stars. We also loved that all the things we wanted to do were within an hour’s drive or less (fun hiking, snow tubing, train rides, and breweries). The owners were extremely prompt in returning messages as well.

Great star gazing experience
Quick spontaneous trip to do some star gazing. This place was perfect. Exactly as advertised and instructions were very clear and helpful during our stay. I would recommend to anyone that wants to get out of the city. We will definitely be looking to stay again for more extended hiking trips in the area.
