About this property

Charming cottage on 178 acres in Virginia's wine country.

Charming cottage in Virginia's wine country on 178 acres, great for weekend getaways, hunters, hiking, and exploring!

The Owl's Nest Cottage boasts 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms on two levels with a living room on each floor, fireplace, and a gracious sun room which leads out to the yard and to your own rocking chair swing.

There's a bit of history to this property as well as legend has it the Patrick Swayze's (of Dirty Dancing" fame) Grandmother used to own this property and he spent quite a bit of time on the property and spent his nights as well at the Owl's Nest!

Imagine waking up with a cup of coffee in the sunroom overlooking the upper meadow, maybe heading out for a hike across the Upper Meadow just behind the property and up to the top of Short Hill Mountain. Or perhaps you'd prefer a more relaxing day touring many of the Virginia wineries nearby, in fact Breaux Winery is just right next door.

And for the hunters and fishermen, this property boasts plentiful deer population, bear, squirrel, and has 2 spring-fed ponds. Proof of proper license required to hunt. Archery only. Please feel free to contact us for any additional questions.

Thank you for your interest in the Owl's Nest and we look forward to welcoming you soon!

Great for split family reunion
Thus property was one of several we rented in the area for a family reunion. The property was lovely and well maintained, and the house was very charming. The location is excellent, and we enjoyed exploring the pond and meadow. Instructions were very clear and communication with the owner was great. We only wished we had had the chance to make a fire! Great experience overall!
