The property was absolutely gorgeous and our entire family got together for an early Thanksgiving! We had an incredible trip and will definitely be rebooking for more get togethers in the future!
It was unanimous, all 12 of our family members would stay here again. The expansive property is walkable and has so many unique points of interest (the pond, chickens, fire pit, covered bridge to name a few) and several outdoor games and seating areas. The mix of separate cabins and main house was a bonus for our group so we could spread out. Well equipped kitchen and many thoughtful amenities were provided by the gracious host.
Excellent property for a large group. Great fireplace and deck with BBQ grill and games. Beautiful grounds, fishing lake, and river access. Large kitchen and family room. Very clean. Very nice rooms. Spiral staircase to some upper bedrooms a little challenging. The 2 sleeping “nooks” are OK for single guys or kids.
My family stayed here for an Alabama game for Labor Day Weekend! We were greeted with fresh eggs- which were fabulous! Saturday we spent in Tuscaloosa but Sunday we just spent time hanging out, exploring the land, fishing and just relaxing! The house is breathtaking! The owners were just a phone call out text away. Everyone slept great! I wouldn’t hesitate to rent it again!!
This place is a gem! Beautiful property, amazing accommodations, wonderful host. There is something for everyone here! Between the stocked lake, the wide open grass lot (perfect for kick ball and football games), the amazing “other house” with the big tv and spacious couch! The kitchen is perfect for cooking for a big group.
The host is wonderful, communicates perfectly. If you are going to be in the Tuscaloosa area, you must stay here!
This was a beautiful home for our mini family reunion. I suggest using the actual address to find the entrance and to not use google maps. The entrance is to the left after you cross a small bridge. If arriving after dark, very difficult to see and something for headlights to hit would be helpful. Otherwise a perfect getaway.
My family and I had a wonderful stay here. Britt was an incredibly responsive and beyond amazing host! If you are looking a extraordinary home away from normal living and a life reboot, this is the place to stay. It is extremely peaceful with lots of attention to detail. There are also plenty of things to do to accommodate you and your family. There was not one family member who was displeased and we would love to do this again. Thanks Britt, we really appreciate you and your hospitality for allowing us to stay at your estate.
Couldn’t be more pleased with this property for our family gathering. We were in the area for a wedding and this place was big enough for my extended family, thirteen people. Everything we need was provided and the host was so responsive. Every time I contacted him I got a reply immediately. This place is off the beaten path. If you want wilderness and peacefulness this is it. But it’s still so close to Tuscaloosa if you need provisions or want to eat out. But we cooked in the beautiful and well appointed kitchen. I highly recommend it.
We couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves more at this lodge. We had a group of 18 and everyone had rave reviews. The photos and description don’t do this place justice—the lodge and sleeping quarters are spacious and modern, and the property has so much to explore. From fishing the stocked pond, to paddling a private and beautiful stretch of the Sipsey river, to enjoying outdoor games, to exploring deer stands and bridges, there’s something for everyone. Everyone had plenty of room to spread out amongst 3 private suites and multiple upstairs bedrooms. The kitchen is well-stocked for feeding many, the outdoor bbq includes propane and charcoal, and there is plenty of wood for the fire pit. The property is relatively remote and quite private. Our group is already planning a return trip. Would recommend if this place fits your needs!
This property and house is truly breathtaking. The pictures and description do not do it any justice. The owners have honestly have thought of everything when building and putting together this house. It is perfect for a large family or even a romanic get a way ( even though it has 9 bedrooms). It is about 40 minutes from the UA campus, but so secluded and quiet. The owners left us a dozen fresh eggs ( from the chickens on the premises, which you can collect your own fresh eggs in the morning. WOW you should see that coop!!) and a bucket with s'mores to cook around the fire! Parker Farms will take your breath away! I could go on and on. The owner has amazing communication sills and my family and I will most defiantly be returning. WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!
I can't begin to describe the beauty of this property in the country. It was more than we ever imagined. Our family of 12 flew in to celebrate our sons college graduation and it turned out to be a "vacation" because of all the memories we created on this ranch. Our stay was filled with long walks down the dirt paths lined with stunning trees, surprising meadows, ponds, shooting ranges and magical turns with vintage memorabilia placed along the way to remind you that you are somewhere special with a story to be told. Our family laughed by the outdoor fire pit, made smores with the items the owners left for us as a welcome treat, swung on the outdoor porch swings while listening to the birds with occasional turkey sightings. The home itself is warm and cozy which is hard to do with its size. The amenities were exceptional and the owners were the perfect hosts and answered every question we had quickly. Don't give a second thought on booking this property. It is the breath of fresh air and relaxation you have been looking for.
What an incredible weekend we had with friends at this beautiful and unique hunting lodge! We had 4 families with many kids, and we couldn’t have imagined a better space to gather for simple fun and fellowship. The kids loved fishing in the stocked pond, swinging on the swingset, play darts, exploring the creek, swimming in the sipsey (with dads nearby to help them from floating downstream!), playing board games, and making s’mores! The owner was incredibly helpful and responsive— answering questions and helping us troubleshoot when needed. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed to make several large meals. The rooms were very comfortable and several had large bathrooms or closet spaces for pack n plays.
A few notes that I feel would be helpful for future renters (this info may be in the listing and i just overlooked it!):
-there’s plenty of firewood/cardboard for the fire pit
-the sipsey river that borders part of the property is about a mile from the house. A group did walk to it one day and it wasn't terrible, but they went back the next day in a truck. There’s a rocky beach by it the kids loved searching for river clams at.
-3 of the rooms (all with queens) are separated by a little outdoor walkway from the main house. They have their own keys and a door to the outside on both sides of the room (one is in the bathroom actually). This setup worked great for our group, especially for napping babies who needed quiet.
Overall wonderful trip!
