This rustic cottage also offers delightful weekends in early season June and late September when the beaches are quieter and more laid back. This wonderful home on pond offers a bounty of activities.

Go kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and swimming. Visit numerous nearby sites such as the charming fishing village of Ogunquit with its spectacular ocean walk (Marginal Way), outlet shopping in Kittery, or arcades, taffy pull and Wild Kingdom Amusement Park at Short Sands Beach. Take a picnic to the ocean only ten minutes away and enjoy the view of the Nubble Lighthouse. Nearby are 22 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.Great Fall get away.Foilage.

Just what we needed!

My family, including my parents, stayed here for 6 days and loved every minute of it! My father has just completed a round of chemotherapy so we were looking for a place to rest, relax, and enjoy some family time and this was perfect. We were able to play bocce and cornhole, but also just sit in the sunroom to admire the beautiful pond views! The hot tub was a huge hit for my husband, who used it every night! So happy with our stay!!

Great girls' weekend!

Lake house

Lovely serene and quiet lake front property, with available canoe and kayaks with paddles and life jackets, and a hot tub. Easy access to ocean beaches, shopping, and good restaurants. Close to hiking, Kittery outlets, nature preserves and Portsmouth NH.

This property checked all the boxes for us: peaceful, water views and access, secluded but with easy access to ocean, shopping, and restaurants, and an overall relaxing space. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would rent this again!

Cottage on the pond

We had a wonderful two night stay in this cozy cottage on the pond. Great location with an amazing water view and a great fire pit and outdoor area you're super close to both York and ogunquit for fun! The cottage sleeps 5 comfortably and has all the basics you need. Be aware it IS a cottage and more rustic but the location and outdoor space makes it worth the stay, not too mention the hot tub!!! Take a soak and look up at the stars!

peacefull

this was a very nice quiet location. we enjoyed our stay the pond was awesome to go out and enjoy nature this was an adult vacation for us so it was very relaxing the area was very nice and quiet. a couple things that need to be looked at and fixed at the house the dock is cracked and has a couple of weak spots that should be addressed and lots of ants in the house. but overall we had a great week and would defently visit again .

Ants

The property was nice, but was filled with ants! The were all over the place including on beds etc. Also, the hot tub was filthy and needed cleaning. The dock and furniture around the fire was rickety. I would not stay in this cabin again. However, the location was lovely!

Girls Weekend

Perfect for a weekend away!

My friends and I were looking for a cozy spot, close to lots of take-out options, with a fireplace and a jacuzzi. This home was perfect!! Our little group slept well, loved the easy access to York Village, Kittery, and Ogunquit, and truly just relaxed. Kathy was great to communicate with and we hope to make this an annual experience. Our only qualm - the road and driveway are dirt... and we stayed during a VERY rainy weekend, so we were nervous getting our cars up and out! HIGHLY recommend this home for a relaxing spot!! Thank you for hosting us!

Description did not match the house/ chlorine burns

The listing sed the sleeping arrangements where completely different then they actually where. Along with the fact that there was soo much chlorine in the hot tub it burned our skin and bleached bathing suit ( found 11 chlorine tablets in a small hot tub should be 3 MAX)

Cozy Lake House

Wonderful lake-front location. Fireplace in living room heats up the space very quickly. Close to the highway, Kittery, and Portsmouth. Looking forward to going back in warmer weather.

Clean and comfy with great views and location

The location is fantastic! We loved waking up to the gorgeous lake views, star gazing in the hot tub, s’mores by the fire, and a great day of autumn surfing on Long Sands Beach. The cabin was spacious for our family of 4 with lots of activities for our teens to do both on and off property. The kitchen was well appointed and the living spaces were clean and inviting.

Cozy home in a great location

We stayed for a long weekend. We were looking for something on a "lake", but close to the ocean. This was the perfect spot. The town is adorable with great restaurants and shops nearby. The inside of the house was exactly as described. We had 4 adults and 2 kids. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and relax. The yard definitely needs some clean up. We didn't do much outside beyond using the fire pit because it was not so great. Overall it was a really good stay beyond that.

Good place to rest.

This property is old and not fancy, but is in a lovely setting and was great for our trip. There was plenty of room for the 5 adults in my group. We all slept comfortably. The shower was good with plenty of hot water for us all. We happily used the large hot tub every morning. We were gone most of the day so did not fully utilize the pond but It was lovely to sit by with a glass of wine at the end of the day.

Lovely stay

It is a cozy camp-style cottage with a clean hot tub and a lovely patio near the dock for pond gazing. A dryer would be a nice addition for drying towels, socks, bathing suits. Neighbors were quiet. Grounds could use a bit of tidying up but lots of out door space and games to play. Kayaks, life vests and paddles available to use as well. Great location for trips to the York and Ogunquit shore, Mt.Agey, or Kittery shopping. :D Would like to use again :) Thank you for sharing your property and clear communications Matt and Kathy!

Mother Daughter Weekend

We loved our stay at Kathy’s and are looking at dates to return. It was the perfect spot for a casual fall getaway with our daughters. The view is gorgeous and the accommodations comfortable. Kathy was a very responsive host and communicated well and during the trip. Only thing I would suggest to future guests is to bring gallons of water as the kitchen tap came out brown occasionally.

Location!

Okay, if you're looking for a 5 star hotel in Maine, please go stay at one. Also, if you want a place to be perfect, go spend a lot more a night at another property. We stayed at the cabin for 4 nights, we fished, cooked on the grill, sat in the hot tub, ate lobster at the picnic table, built a fire every night...and when we needed to go to the store or wanted to shop, we drove the 5 minutes to get there. The location is great, the lake is beautiful. The house is a cabin, it is small but cozy.. and no it's not perfect but we had a wonderful time there.

VERY Rustic Cabin

We decided to stay away from the hustle and bustle of downtown York as it was our first time to the area and wanted easy access to 95 to visit the other Maine beaches. The idea of being on the pond for kayaking and fishing felt like the best of both worlds with myself a beach bum and my husband a fisherman. While we definitely enjoyed kayaking and fishing there were some aspects of the house that were disappointing being a rental. It started with pulling up to a yard where there were two what looked like abandon vehicles that haven’t been run in a long time, being used as storage. While the over all cottage size for our party was perfect with 3 bedrooms and plenty of beds, they were not comfortable. When you first walk in the property has a cute cabin vibe, but as you look closer we were greeted with ceiling paint sagging that was taped. Fearing with all the rain that the pockets of sag were filled with water, it was the first thing we checked. It wasn’t but a heads up would have been appreciated. The bathroom was on the smaller side and the sink did not have hot water, we had to wash our hands at the kitchen sink. We did not enjoy the shower. We never used the hot tub, but did enjoy the fire pit, dock and the net that was set up. We did have to fish out of the fire pit used cigarettes and empty cigarette boxes before we could utilize it. Over all we could not rate our stay higher than 3 stars, with some maintaining of the property inside and out it would be the perfect place to stay. I hope that the property can get the TLC it deserves as it was a great location to stay in York.

Honest review!

Our time at the York camp was a little less relaxing than I hoped. We are from the York area and have stayed at many camps including another one during this trip. We are use to staying at camps and understand that it IS a camp. That being said, there were several issues that were not huge, but felt others may need to consider when booking this camp. We were disappointed with the number of ants throughout the house. We purchased ant traps that day in hopes to reduce them, but I don't know if that helped. The screened in porch was useless as the doors do not close. It was filled with wasps and we couldn't find a nest or what was drawing the creatures in. We purchased wasp traps to place near the doors hoping that we could maybe use the space. It didn't work. We can't comment on the jacuzzi as we didn't use it. We did go out in the canoe, kayak, and paddle board. It took longer than I want to admit for my husband and I to evict the mouse that was living in the stern of the canoe! Perhaps it was the same mouse in the walls at night or the dead mouse we saw a day or two later outside the front door. The "fire pit" did work, but needs some TLC. It is a portable fire pit that is quite rusted. I was concerned about the fire falling through. The bathroom was also interesting. When I turned the tub on to shower, dark brown water came out. It was also quite stinky! Taking a shower always scared me because I felt the handles for the hot and cold water were going to pop off in my hands. If you want to stay at a camp, this is your place! Yes, it IS a camp. We did enjoy the great sunset and ducks! Nothing is better than getting out on the water. Also, Kathy was great at supplying a pillows and a few linens as we had none! Thank you!

This cottage has the best of both worlds. Lake swimming and many activities for the kids. Like boating campfire ,bocce,, basket ball. Volley ball, Jacuzzi, And the other world is 5 min to the Ocean. Children have some much to do they don't want to leave.

What makes this property unique

My favorite thing is the Sunset over the lake. And watching the hummingbirds.
