Situated on the pristine North East Coast at Cooten Bay This one-bedroom house offers an amazing panoramic view over the islands and beaches on this, still largely undeveloped, side of Tortola. The style of Cooten House is modern Caribbean with a tasteful collection of out of the ordinary furnishings and art-deco pieces lending a slightly 'retro' feel to this peaceful and beautiful location.

The large and airy kitchen/living room comes well equipped with modern, high-end stainless steel appliances, custom cabinetry and hardwood counter tops as well as huge vintage industrial lights, Driftwood table, antique cupboards and a comfortable, stylish sitting area. With a high quality Bose sound system and a large LCD TV hooked up to cable and other A/V equipment the house has been carefully designed and equipped to be a relaxing, comfortable home.

In the bedroom is a custom made queen size and the bathroom features a lovely old marble sink from a Turkish bath house. Outside is a large covered balcony, pergola and sunken sun deck with a 156 jet Hot Tub complete with waterfalls and LED lighting.The house sits on a private 1/2 acre lot.

Cooten House overlooks the Cootens Bay, a renowned surf break in the winter months. Close by are two beautiful secluded golden sand beaches, Rogues bay and Trunk Bay.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Cooten House for our 10yr anniversary, and it was our favorite trip we have had together. The house has stunning views, especially for sunrise and moonrise! We were lucky to catch an almost full moon! The hot tub was relaxing after a long day adventuring! Jeremy was so friendly and attentive! He gave us amazing recommendations too. The house has many fun details and had everything we needed. The mosquitos were a nuisance while we were on the Island, and the house even had bug spray for our use! AC in the bedroom was refreshing and the view from bed makes it almost hard to get moving. Thank you for sharing this beautiful property with us!

Amazing view and privacy

We loved staying at the Cooten House! The views are incredible and we appreciated the privacy. The Bluetooth stereo is great. Hot tub is wonderful. Comfortable bed. Beach chairs, beach towels, cooler and snorkel gear provided. Everything you would need in the kitchen. Comfortable couch in the living room. A/C in the bedroom worked great and I loved the cross winds with the windows open in the living room. It’s in a remote location, so it’s a 15 minute drive to restaurants and the ferry terminal at Road Town and 20 minutes to Cane Garden Bay beach. One morning there were cows standing by our rental car greeting us! :) If you want to have an incredible view to yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing views, lovely home

The views just can't be beat! We followed our rental car representative to the property on arrival. There's a somewhat steep path and stairs to get down to the house, but they're sturdy and well lit at night. The home's amenities provided for all of our needs. It was clean and comfortable with interesting vintage decor. The host was responsive and easy to work with. Driving on the island can be a little dicey. Some roads were closed due to flooding and the roads are steep with sharp turns, plus GPS isn't accurate. We had a lovely stay!

Summer Stay

We had a great time in Tortola. The house was a perfect place from which to launch our daily explorations. The breezes throughout the day and night were nice for keeping cooled down. We enjoyed using the beach chairs and cooler for our trips to the water. The kitchen was well stocked with necessary items to make quick meals.

Gorgeous view

We had such a wonderful time on our BVIs vacation and this house was the perfect home base! Gorgeous view! And you can see it from the hot tub! Loved having the full size American style fridge and freezer with ice maker! We cooked several times and everything was great!

Gorgeous views!

Jeremy was so helpful as our trip was changed several times. He was a great communicator and was very fast to address any small issues that might arise.The view is breathtaking and the property has everything you need for a wonderful week. I would definitely recommend renting a four wheel drive vehicle to explore the beautiful local beaches. Lunch at Indigo Beach Club was fantastic. We can’t wait to return!

Book It!

Simply amazing and wonderful. We spent 8 days there and explored Tortola. Absolutely great communication with Jeremy. He made sure everything was perfect. Rental car is a must. Incredible view. Secluded. Lots of hungry mosquitos. Bring bug spray. Drive down to Josiah's beach, which is about 10 minutes away and can be seen from the house. Totally relaxing stay. Just what we wanted and needed.

Spectacular

We had a wonderful time visiting Tortola. The house was great and Jeremy and Ben are very helpful. Can't say enough about the view. We loved being out on the deck and having happy hour on the gazebo-bed. The house has one bedroom, but it seems much larger. The island is beautiful and the people are extremally welcoming. We drove all over the island, enjoying the many beaches. We took a free ferry to Scrub Island and Marina Cay. We took another ferry to Virgin Gorda. Everywhere we went we had a great time.

Best view in Tortola

We had a great week at Cooten House. The view is simply the best in BVI bar none. Location was perfect as we explored all parts of Tortola. Aristocat sail to JVD was fun. We took the ferry from Beef Is and spent a day on Virgin Gorda where we rented a car and visited the Baths, Hog Heads, and Limerick Bay with a swim at Sahvanah Beach and dinner at Coco Maya before catching last ferry home. Had a great dinner at Sugarbush Hotel Restaurant. Enjoyed Trunk Bay Beach to ourselves. Cane Bay Beach was fun and don’t miss lunch at Indigo Beach House. This is paradise period. We have got to come back.

We had an incredible 9 day stay at the Cooten House. The views are simply mesmerizing & stunning! The privacy of the property was outstanding and the overall layout of the house was just perfect for the 2 of us. The open air breezes that rush through the house can not be any more peaceful....you feel like you are part of the mountainside that the home is built on. We cooked many of our meals at the house and bounced around the island each day. Exploring Tortola is a real treat and the people of Tortola could not be nicer and more welcoming. From day trip ferry rides to Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda to wonderful days at the many stunning beaches our trip could not have been any better. It was so hard to leave. Thank you Jeremy and Ben for allowing us to create a lifelong memory! We can't wait to come back for another visit.

Absolute heaven

Breathtaking views. Welcoming and comfortable decor. A fully stocked kitchen with an All Clad pan, two coffee makers, full size fridge and a welcome bottle of Prosecco with two chilled glasses awaited our arrival. This was the perfect capstone to follow a week of sailing the BVIs. Ben was incredibly responsive on WhatsApp….even bought a new coffee maker immediately when we reported the carafe was cracked. True the parking is tricky and the steep path down to the unit was also tricky but wow!! So worth it! We actually spent a whole day just chilling on the outside day bed and grilling fresh caught grouper. Don’t miss this one!!

Amazing!

We had an amazing time at the cooten house and we never wanted to leave. The house itself is wonderful and the view is so beautiful it feels fake! All the windows open up and the somehow, the pictures don't do it justice. We spent most of our time at the surf beach, Josiah's Bay. There is a surf school and Alex will take you paddle boarding if you want! There is a little restaurant that serves a few food items and drinks. Jeremy was very responsive and Alex, who helps manage the property, was terrific!! If you are staying on island I highly recommend renting a jeep. We tooled around and visited most of the beaches and the park. Stay to the left! :-) One of the best vacations ever. Thank you Jeremy and Alex!

The most beautiful views!

We could have stayed on the porch for our entire stay! The views here are so amazing. Jeremy was very responsive to any questions I had ahead of our stay & Ben met us and led us to the house on check-in day and explained everything we needed to know right down to the best little beach right down the road. The kitchen was well appointed with everything one would need to prepare meals during a stay however we didn't want to cook so all we did was make coffee in the mornings & use the fridge for beer. The welcome bottle of prosecco made the perfect pineapple mimosas! The hot tub on deck makes for a perfect evening and even though we used the air conditioning in the bedroom at night for sleeping, the house never felt warm with the breezes blowing through the open air floor plan. We had plenty of towels to use and the beach chairs & cooler was a very welcome amenity. This place is truly heavenly to stay while exploring Tortola and the other islands. Can't recommend enough & we look forward to returning again some day.

A must if you are staying in Tortola!

My whole experience with Jeremy and Ben (his on site property manager) and the Cooten House was amazing! This is my first time ever using Vrbo so I was a bit nervous for the unknown but Jeremy was a fantastic host! Upon arriving he included us with popular restaurants and excursions we could do during our stay. If we had any particular questions, he would respond that same hour, usually within 10 minutes! The pictures when over looking the balcony does not do the view justice! Jeremy also put us in touch with a Car Rental company “Paradise Jeep Rentals” and they were just equally as amazing! Goya was waiting for us at the airport upon arrival, took us to the grocery store and then back to the house! The whole trip went amazing and part of that was because of Jeremy and his wonderful recommendations! You would be doing yourself a disservice by not booking the Cooten house when staying at Tortola!! Thank you Jeremy and Ben and Paradise Jeep Rentals!!

Wow factor

Jeremy’s place at Cooten Bay is nothing short of amazing! You will be saying ‘wow’ as soon as you walk down the pretty lit up steps down to the property. The view is just to die for and we never got tired of looking at it. Not to mention an eclectic, clean and super comfortable apartment complete with trade winds blowing through keeping it nice and cool even on the hottest days. The apartment is east facing so we would catch the beautiful morning sunrises when we could get up in time. The AC in the bedroom was a big hit too. Outside is like a resort complete with a hottub and lounge bed both of which light up creating such a beautiful ambience. We enjoyed the apartment so much that one day we just stayed there all day and night, never leaving, and on the days we did leave to explore, we were excited to go back to this sweet haven. True the driveway is a little tricky but all the steep roads around Tórtola are a little treacherous so be warned. A 4x4 jeep is an absolute must. All in all if peace, beauty, privacy and ‘listening to the waves lap the shore’ are all things you enjoy, then you will be thrilled with this place. Thanks Jeremy and Ben!

AMAZING Place - STOP NOW and RENT IT

Short version - This place is amazing. Everything about it is perfect: location, views, privacy, owner/manager, comfort, modern, and on and on and on. Zero hesitation to rent again - zero concerns - 100% enjoyment. Long version: My girlfriend and I were looking for a quiet, private place with gorgeous views and the ability to cook the majority of our meals. This place delivered beyond our expectations and desires. Located on the northern side of Tortola, it is less touristy than the southern and western parts - which was perfect for us. All the pictures are accurate - if anything, they don't do the view justice. Just staying at the house is a vacation in itself due to the views, but there are plenty of pristine, quiet, beautiful beaches all over the island. We personally enjoyed Rogue's and Trunk Bay (closest to the house) the most for the soft sand, blue water and NO PEOPLE!!! We also enjoyed Josiah's Bay, Little Bay, and Brewer's Bay. Yes, you need a 4 wheel drive car. Tortola is mountainous with windy roads. You get used to them just STAY ON THE LEFT. I highly, highly recommend Paradise Explorer Jeep Rental. The car was clean and the service was above and beyond. Shout out to Koya for meeting us at the airport and then leading us to the supermarket and then to our house. Being able to follow her during my first drive on the island really helped me learn the roads/driving without having to worry about directions. Any GPS app will work on the island (we used Apple & Google Maps) so pay for the international service for your phone while you are there. Jeremy (owner), Alex (friend of the owner/manager) and Ben (property manager) were all great with communication - available if needed (they never were because the place is perfect) and respected our privacy. I could go on longer but this is getting lengthy. The place was amazing - the island is gorgeous - the people are friendly. Tortola and this house specifically will also be special because the front porch is where my girlfriend became my fiancé. I couldn't have picked a better spot! Thank you Jeremy!

The view was beautiful from the deck and hot tub. We slept comfortably in the air conditioned bedroom. Had some grill and stove issues with having no gas but was able to talk with property manager and got that resolved.

The house and views were absolutely incredible. On top of that Jeremy was an excellent host and was always available to answer any questions we had as it was our first time on the island. We were very glad the AC worked so well in the bedroom as we traveled in August so it was very hot out!

If I could bottle that breeze!

Amazing view and amazing breeze! And oh by the way, down the hill from the property is the best beach of all time! Sand on that beach is like walking on a cloud. Shared the beach with one other couple only half of the time we were on it. Clear water, decent size waves (end of May) vs other beaches with zero waves. But we ate dinner on the deck every night thanks to that breeze and view. Other parts of the island have stagnant air resulting in too much eat and mosquito problems. Not Cooten House!

Beautiful house

We loved staying here. The house had everything we needed. It was very clean and so nicely decorated and landscaped. Such a great breeze on the deck and the view is spectacular. Jeremy was very helpful with recommendations of places to see. We would love to stay here again.

10 year anniversary

The view was amazing, the hot tub was a nice feature, but overall the house could use some major updating. The couch was very old and gross looking, there was a chair in the living room that was falling apart and the outdoor daybed and couch cushions were moldy and gross. Pretty sure there were lizards living in the house behind the pictures, as there was poop on the walls, and we killed several bugs as well. I get the whole open air feel, but when there are birds flying into the house eating our avocados and a lizard running across the counter, it’s a little too much.
