Farmhouse Gallery & Gardens

As you drive through the covered bridge and enter our 73-acre family farm nestled between the mountains, you will understand why we want to share this special place with our guests. A nature-lover’s dream, our log cabin studio art gallery by the pond is now available for overnight stays — a unique opportunity to experience the artist’s inpiration.

The gallery has a separate, private guestroom with a queen sized bed, cozy bathroom with shower, small fridge with freezer, microwave, and single-serve coffee and tea maker with complimentary pods. The guestroom is connected to the gallery but has a separate keyless entry to the outside. After hours access to the common area is available for the enjoyment of our guests. A porch with table and chairs is also available for relaxing outdoors.

We live in an area rich in history, and the cabin dates back 250 years. We have always landscaped for wildlife and provided food and habitat for multiple species. Gardening has always been a key ingredient in our lifestyle, as well as cooking, canning, art, antiques and music. We also have a small buffalo herd, and Sammy Fathead, our buffalo bull, is always happy to greet visitors who come with us to his pasture. We have an authentic, working log cabin blacksmith shop, where our son Robin produces beautiful and functional artistic metal work. Johnny has been a wildlife artist for over 40 years, and his watercolors, prints, and pencil drawings are in the gallery, as well as the metalwork and other items we make here on the farm. Pat has had a commercial kitchen and catered and baked on site for nearly thirty years — you might get lucky and time your visit on a baking day, when she is preparing her goodies for a local farmer’s market. We look forward to welcoming you to our farm!

Beautiful farm with amazing views and animals!

Mrs. Pat greeted us, gave us a tour of our beautiful cabin, and we adored her! She knew it was my husband's birthday and she had made us homemade cake as a special treat. The cabin was so beautiful with its gorgeous view of the pond, birds, lilly pads, and peacocks walking the grounds!

We enjoyed our stay, although short. Loved falling asleep to the sound of the rain on the metal roof. Very peaceful. Nice little place with character. Convenient to Johnson City. We hope to stay again when in town.

Peaceful and renewing get away!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Lynch's beautiful and unique cabin. The cabin was a great home base for taking in some of the historic sites at Rocky Mount and Jonesboro. We even made it to the top of Mt.Unaka to Beauty Spot, where we took some amazing after sunset photos .The actual highlight of the trip for me was getting to sit and talk with Johnny about his art and some of his experiences. We hope to make it back again for another stay and to buy another Johnny Lynch print.

Lovely peaceful getaway

This property is lovely. We were so happy to find a peaceful hideaway. Quaint and comfortable. Clean and serene. The cabin is nestled in a beautiful valley rich with color and natural beauty. Easy to find, quietly remote but conveniently close to anything you might want to do or need to go out for. We loved meeting Mrs Pat and Mr Johnny. We will certainly be back!

Such a gem! ♥️

This is such a classic and dreamy spot to stay. With the oversized pond on the perimeter of the porch just feet from the door to the Buffalo on the hillside and wildlife surrounding the antique style cabin. Absolutely LOVED the spot. Just would have liked to stay longer to watch the blacksmith! So much that I left wanting to book another stay for no specific travel purpose other than to just come back to this small piece of peace. Absolutely recommend to get away from the every day and reality.

So so relaxing and amazing.

It was the most relaxing stay we have had in a long time. Pat met us when we got in and made sure we got the lay of the land. The next morning, the peacocks were on the porch, dozens of birds at the feeders, the buffalo, goats and chickens were so cool! Robin, the blacksmith, was able to spend some time with us. We sat in the sunroom and just relaxed. It was just beautiful. We can't wait to get back! That made my husbands birthday just perfect. Thank you Lynch family for the amazing experience.

Stop over stay

Excellent!! We enjoyed our time here so much. Between our morning coffee on the porch while watching buffalo come down out of the mist to the relaxing sounds of a bullfrog serenade while enjoying a glass of wine by the pond. Our gracious hosts were the final piece and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. Plus, my husband got to try his hand at blacksmithing thanks to Robin. Core memories were made and we will will treasure our time at the “cabin by the pond” for years to come.

A TRIP TO REMEMBER

My spouse and I travel alot and this was definitely one of our top favorite trips! Pat, Johnny, and Robin were so welcoming. They are a very talented and kind family. Robin taught us how to blacksmith and feed the Buffalo. Pat showed us the grounds including the studio/art gallery we stayed in. It was filled with Johnnys beautiful art along with several antique pieces. It was quiet and cozy. If you are looking for a different but exceptional kind of experience, book with this beautiful family. We will definitely be back!

Tennessee get away

We travelled over from the UK for our son’s graduation at Milligan university. Pat and Jonny are the most lovely hosts taking the time to explain the history of the farm and the artists studio where we were staying. Pat is an amazing baker and Jonny a very talented artist. The farm has bison, goats, peacocks and chickens however the wildlife including otters and beavers ( both of which we saw) as well as squirrels and red cardinals ( my favourite) was outstanding. Our log cabin was set on the bank of the pond which was surrounded by trees and irises . The bedroom , kitchenette and shower room were clean, comfortable and homely. We were also invited to use the living room which included items to buy from the local community as well as Jonny’s art work and crafts. This is situated within the cabin and leads onto a deck overlooking the pond and giving a perfect view of the wildlife. We also met their son Robbie who helps run the farm and is a blacksmith with a forge on the site where he makes useful items. This was a beautiful stay which left us reluctant to leave. We felt part of the family and community and even visited the local farmers market in Jonesborough where Pat sells her fabulous bakes. Thank you to you all for making this stay so pleasurable and giving us such a wonderful insight to Southern hospitality.

Rustic peaceful farm house

Very scenic, peaceful stay at a working farm. No Tv to disturb you. Art studio/ sun porch gives very poetic environment to watch animals in the pond and the deer. . They had Buffalo, chickens and a working blacksmith shop onsite. Cozy studio sleeping quarters slept very well. Microwave, K cups and small fridge provided gives perfect facilities to enjoy breakfast to watch otters and birds in pond. Everything was very clean. Private shower was small but accommodating and studio had private entrance. Grounds were beautiful and Hosts were very quick to respond. Neighboring towns had great food and entertainment. We Visited several waterfalls in the area. We will be back! Could not have loved it more.

Adorable and unique stay. Love the character and the farm. Peacocks walking around, friendly bison, and we even saw a beaver! It was as described! Great communication, kind host! Super close to Johnson city, hiking, and beautiful Mountain views. To note: the only sink is in the bathroom and the bed was not the most comfortable mattress.
