About this property

Cottage-Very Close to Beach-Quiet A/C-Full Kitchen with Range/Oven-Deck-Laundry

Here is the adorable beach bungalow you've been looking for. Located on the southern border of Laie on the northeast shore of Oahu, this old-time beach cottage was lovingly restored back to original. The 425 square foot private cottage has a front deck of 150 square feet with a stainless gas grill, a table & chairs with a shade cloth canopy, plus a tropical landscaped front fenced yard with native plants and tropical flowers. An over-sized walk-in tiled shower, double bowl vanity sinks in the bathroom and air conditioning throughout, is perfect for the honeymoon or anniversary getaway. There's a convertible loveseat(sleeps an extra guest - small child - if need be), a roomy fully stocked kitchen with full-size range/oven for cooking, wifi, laundry, parking and beach equipment to round out the amenities.

This rental is just a short walk from a beautiful long stretch of secluded sandy beach (the beach access is at the end of the lane, about a 45 second walk away). It's perfect for strolling, swimming, and snorkeling with restrooms and showers close by at Kokololio Beach Park. The Polynesian Cultural Center (with its luau dinners and hula shows) is just a mile away. The LDS Temple is in Laie and a visit to Laie Point offers a dramatic view of the rugged coastline. A bit further down the road is the Malaekahana State Recreation Area, with views of Goat Island and a sea bird sanctuary. The Turtle Bay Resort is just 10 minutes north with two amazing chamionship golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer and is a nice place for lunch, cocktails, or dinner. Continue north and you will run into the famous North Shore surfing beaches and famous Haleiwa Town with a lot of mom & pop store shopping and restaurants.

Whether you decide to relax at the bungalow, or drive around to sightsee, you are sure to have a fabulous time.

There are exterior surveillance cameras on this rental property in some parking, recreation and entry door areas.

Fantastic!

This was the perfect place to enjoy our vacation. We started out in downtown Waikiki, after 2 days it was time to turn off the tourist attraction and move to the quiet and peace of this great little gem. Absolutely would recommend and will be staying here agin.

Access to beautiful beach. Cozy & very clean.

Small north shore town & easy beach access. Property had all the amenities we require. A little highway noise, but definitely not a deal breaker. We would stay here again. Loved it!

Awesome location. Quiet, beautiful beach 25 yards away. Walked to the beach every morning with my coffee to the amazing sunrise. Drove 20 minutes up the hwy to watch the gorgeous sunset all on the same day.

It was so nice to come ba...

It was so nice to come back from a day of site-seeing to our private bungalow. A very nice nearly-empty beach is just down the lane, where we enjoyed beautiful sunrises and swims. Greg is very helpful and professional (and a talented carpenter). We would definitely stay in the Beach Lane Bungalow again.

Beach Bungalow

Overall a nice stay. We loved the proximity to the beach and to local amenities. We would recommend some updating to the paint, bedding, laundry, and overall cleanliness. The porch is nice and comfortable. The size of the bungalow is perfect for two people. We would definitely consider staying here again if a small amount of updating is done.

North Shore is Great!

We really enjoyed the laid back area, great food from the vendors(try the fresh cut pineapple!) The beaches were awesome! The Bungalow was clean and private the washer and dryer worked great! The outside and inside showers were great! We enjoyed cooking ourselves, kitchen was well stocked and grocery stores close. We really enjoyed the privacy and had a great time! Thanks Greg!

Hauula cottage rental

The stay in Greg’s cottage was great. Beautiful location, close to the beach. The beach was like our own private beach where you could boogie board, snorkel. There were a couple of things that the cleaner had forgotten to do prior to us getting there. Overall though, those things were not a big deal and I really loved staying at Greg’s cottage.

Great place to stay

We loved staying in the bungalow. We came to HI to celebrate our 10th anniversary. It was just as described and a quick minute to the beach. The last day we spent the day at the beach and we only ran into maybe 10 people all day. It really does feel like a private beach. We hope to rent again through Greg. I really recommend this and will pass along Greg's info to family and friends to stay there as well. Thanks again for everything Greg!

The other side of the North Shore

Cute Bungalow We loved the town, cultural center, Ken’s Fish & the beach was spectacular.. walked everyday for sea treasures. It’s in a neighborhood with other families, so expect family noises & street noise is louder with it being so close to main highway. Very close to everything - Longs drug store, grocery & food land and lots of mom pop shops. Would be great for 2 people who don’t need too much space and a nice place to stay. Or single person. Very safe to walk and explore.

Perfect for our vacation

Greg was so accommodating and helpful. The bungalow its self was perfect for our family (Me, my husband and 7 year old) vacation. We used all that was available to us such as beach towels, boogie boards, chairs, sand toys and snorkel gear. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the appliance you need. The beach was wonderful an so close. One morning we had a seal come visit for a good 6 hours, as well as Whales in the distance splashing around. I would highly recommend this place to any couple or small family. Thanks for everything Greg!

Restful and Relaxing!

This intimate bungalow was in a quiet little neighborhood and so close to the beach. Greg thought of everything when it came to stocking this house. We used the beach mats and the beach towels. We used the cooler to bring lunch and snacks to the greatest free snorkeling location, Shark's Cove (much better than paying for those expensive tours). The house was a great central location to driving north to Haleiwa or south to Kailua. It was cozy, pleasant and we had an absolutely wonderful stay at the bungalow. Thank you so much, Greg! Perfect Honeymoon

We had such a wonderful time spent at the bungalow for our honeymoon! Perfect location, right by a private beach, next to Foodland, right next to PCC, and a minutes drive to Sunset Beach, Sharks Cove and Turtle Bay. The bungalow was so cute and nicely decorated and had everything we needed. A full bright kitchen with all appliances and utilities so we could cool breakfast and grill dinner when we didn't want to go out. If you do go out, the shrimp trucks are a must! A beautiful huge shower stocked with necessities. It totally felt like home by the end of our stay. And the air conditioner worked great at night. Greg was very easy to work with and responds very quickly. I highly recommend the Bungalow to anyone wanting a cute home away from home in paradise! Thanks Greg!

Quiet street lovely cottage

A lovely little cottage on a quiet street with ocean access. It was close to perfect. But I couldn’t get the tv to work and after three days of no help I told the owners assistant to forget about it. (I didnt think I should have to go to the Store and buy batteries for a remote that stopped working too). One morning it was chilly and I could not find any extra blankets. Otherwise all was fine. It took a little work to find food trucks and restaurants and understand their hours but food was excellent in the area

Anniversary in paradise

Charming north shore bungalow for a honeymoon, anniversary, or romantic couples getaway. It's really just few short steps to a nearly private beach. My husband and I would have hours on the beach without seeing another person. The bungalow was well-equipped and clean. It's small-ish but plenty of space for a couple (or a couple with one baby or toddler). It's just short walk/drive to a local grocery store. Get the mac nut pancakes at Papa Ole's which is in the same center as the grocery store! Our only hiccup was internet service disruption on 3 days. I wouldn't even mention it but it cramped my hubby's style. Book it! You won't regret it!

I stayed at this cottage in mid-October 2003 and was extremely impressed. It is very easy to find and is a cute, well-decorated, roomy cottage with a big bathroom and huge shower, comfortable bed, large outdoor deck and is very clean. It also has a washer/dryer, outdoor shower, A/C, dishes, silverware, etc. so you don't really need to buy anything but food to feel at home. My kids could walk to the beach in about one minute, and the beach is very pretty with fine white sand and good snorkeling. The Polynesian Cultural Center is only about a 3 minute drive away, as is a big public beach park and a McDonald's and shopping center. I would highly recommend this cottage for a couple (there's enough room for a small child, but no extra bed so you'd have to bring a crib or something). I felt like I was far away from the tourist hotels, living like a Hawaiian.

Overall nice stay

Some instructions were unclear on Vrbo. Confusing on how to enter bungalow because we had never seen a keypad on the door like that before. Could’ve used clearer instructions regarding that. Also, toaster only works is you hold the lever down the entire time. To turn tv on, make sure it’s plugged in & then you have to turn on by pushing power on side of tv AND power button on remote. Would be helpful to mention that only very small loads can be washed in washing machine at one time or it won’t work. There is a lot of traffic 24/7 on the main road but we’re from the SF Bay Area so we’re used to the noise & it didn’t bother us. Wouldn’t recommend for people that need a lot of quiet. Otherwise everything else was good.

10 day getaway

So I always want to leave honest reviews when I travel because it’s how I decide where I book places to stay. Overall, not a bad stay but probably wouldn’t stay again. Communication was good, a little bit of trouble entering the house and didn’t get a reply until much later but luckily we figured it out. We were also given an hour and a half later check out which was nice. The beach behind the property is phenomenal. I think it’s called bath tub beach? The sunrises made every morning incredible !! The location isn’t bad… 20-30 min to north shore, 1.5 hrs to west coast and 45-1 hr to the Waikiki area. Plenty of local food places nearby to check out and activities and the beaches nearby are all beautiful! Nice quiet neighborhood, didn’t see much of the neighbors. The street has a ton of stray cats and my boyfriend and I both like cats so we didn’t mind but one hung out on our front porch the whole time so something to consider. The last couple of days we noticed a house being fumigated a few houses down. Our last day we found 2 of the biggest cockroaches I have ever seen. I’m grateful it was the last day because I would’ve left immediately. Overall for the price it was not bad, staying in Waikiki or turtle bay would’ve been at least double the price.

Hidden Gem

Greg’s place boasts everything you need to enjoy some peace, quiet, beach and town, this place does not disappoint. Located on a private street, the access to the ocean was about a minute walk, while access to grocery stores was about a 5 minute walk. Greg has thought of everything from a well-stocked kitchen to access to some great toys for the beach. The bed was comfortable, the outside entrance to the shower was so convenient, the laundry facilities were awesome and the air conditioning made the whole place feel so comfortable. Book this place for a seamless stay in paradise.

Wonderful Cottage by the Beach

This was a wonderful cottage just a short walking distance to the beach! I loved the big fluffy white bath towels. The house was equipped with sand toys, boogie boards, coolers and beach towels...everything you needed for a fun day at the beach. The kitchen was fully equipped with the basics. We loved sitting on the patio at night. There was great tropical landscaping in the yard. All the neighbors were very friendly. It was great to have onsite free laundry. The cottage was very clean! Internet service was spotty during the week, but the host was receptive when we called. We would definitely stay here again!

Aloha,
I'm a husband, father, jack of all trades, coach of all sports and I was raised in Hawaii. Hawaii has so much to offer and I hope you get the chance to visit and explore this amazing state.

Why they chose this property

My wife and I love this beach property. It's so close to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores. The small town feeling and tight community on this beach lane is familiar since we both grew up in a small town, on a cul-d-sac on Oahu.

What makes this property unique

The beach is great. Never really rough, even in the winter when the North Shore surf spots are reaching 25 feet. A perfect beach for swimming and boogie boarding. The large shower of the Beach Lane Bungalow rental is my favorite. Fully tiled with additional access to the shower the moment you step in from the back bungalow door. The bungalow is very much suited for a honeymoon or anniversary getaway.
