Beautiful property with beautiful views! Property was as described and very hospitable. Mattresses were a little worn and some beds were not very comfortable, but bedding was fabulous. Well equipped Kitchen and lots of features. Will for sure stay again

Family Beach Trip

We vacationed with our grown children, their spouses, our granddaughter and our dog. The location couldn’t have been better. The house was spacious and accommodated us very well. The only issue was the screened porch that had no screens. Hopefully this is a maintenance item that will be taken care of during the off season. Love the area and look forward to our next visit.

CSB did not disappoint! Family vacation 2023 one for the memory banks. Big Swell is perfect place. Deck and stairs outside need some work. Bathrooms are dated. But boardwalk to beach is brand new. Learn the CSB shuffle as you enter the clear water…watch for rays!

Great escape to the cape!!

All the things that were great: the house, the views, the beach, the beach gear service included with rental, the weather… Intention was super chill beach getaway and that’s what family group of 7 got- house super comfortable, had a little hiccup on our end, got right in touch with mgmt group, very nice. Nice new deck over dunes to beach- felt very private, Used elevator a little, struggled being able to load at ground level - most likely user error :) stairs worked just fine. Fishing trip out of PSJ- mangrove snapper, white trout and dock-purchased shrimp, so yummy Beaches practically empty, great space between homes so plenty of room, no public traffic. Truly a gem, would totally rebook.

Beach trip June ‘23

We had a great week, weather was excellent. The house was very nice and very comfortable. A couple of things were not perfect. The ice maker was pretty much useless. We had to buy ice every day. One of the cabinet doors was broken, we fixed it twice, but the hinge kept failing. One of the sliding door handles on the outside was missing. I tried to report these things on line, with no luck. Amazing! Rent this place - you won't be disappointed!

This is by far one of the best experiences we've ever had with a vacation rental home and agency. Communication was excellent. Home was even better than we expected. Our first few days had some rough weather - extreme winds blew the sand all over the place. Needless to say, we were extremely grateful for the protection from the amazing dunes, which also offered so much privacy. The home was super clean, spacious, convenient, and just beautiful. The screened in porch got a bit battered by the winds, but we weren't there during the "buggy" season, so no problem for us. The elevator was a knee saver, especially with the bedrooms being on the top floor. Best views on the beach! Sunsets were to die for. We love shell hunting, and we were not disappointed. This was our first visit to CSB, and we are already planning our next one. Thank you so much for an unforgettable birthday trip!

Great Relaxing Vacation

Big Swell is a great house right on the beach. Cape San Blas is such a welcome change from 30A. It is so laid back and not crowded. Even over Labor Day weekend, the nearest people to us on the beach were over 100 yards away. Very dog friendly.

My husband and I came in August and loved this house. The view was amazing and the master bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed all the porches (especially the master porch and the comfy chairs out there!) and ate most of our meals out on the porches. Only downside would be if you’re looking for a dog friendly house this may not be a first choice as there aren’t any rugs on the tiled floors, no gate on the outside part of the porch, lots of stairs that are also all tiled (we sadly weren’t able to bring our pup, but can’t help to notice these things even when he’s not around). Kitchen was well stocked and the whole house was very clean. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely come back.

Can't wait to return to Cape San Blas!

The Big Swell was a great home that was perfect for our group! We loved that there was an elevator to get all of our gear up and down from the car. The location of the beach was great! We could easily pop in from the beach and make lunch or grab anything we needed. We loved walking over to Scallop Cove and Beach Planet for any gear we needed. We rented paddle boards for the week and they got tons of use on the beautiful gulf water! We can't wait to return for more amazing sunsets and shelling adventures!

There was an issue with the downstairs air conditioner, however Baytowne Was easy to deal with and got maintenance out quickly. The unit was replaced so this shouldn’t be a problem going forward. Other than that the house was great. It was very clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. I would definitely rent it again.

The accommodations at Big Swell were great. The house was clean and set up very nice for a group stay. The view of the gulf from the balconies is spectacular and access to the beach is easy. The location is central to the local shops and restaurants on the cape and the drive into Pt. St Joe or Apalachicola is not bad at all. We enjoyed our stay and definately reccomend this place.

Reviewer Comments: The location of the rental was excellent. Plenty of open beach to be used by our group. For the most part, the home was as described. There were a couple of items that we were irritated with when we arrived. We had planned to use the gate grill multiple evenings for dinner, but only used it the first evening because it was so filled with grease, there were multiple times we had to put out grease fires while trying to grill. The refrigerator had a missing shelf and the shelf that is supposed to be on one of the drawers was broken so nothing could be set on top of it. This is a big issue when you are trying to stock food for 10 people. We could not use the screened in deck because there were multiple rips/gaps in the screening that allowed plenty of bugs in. The main sliding door off the dinning area had the handle break off half way through the week. The fridge ice maker did not work, and the stand-alone ice maker never made a full container of ice during our stay. The guest before us had a dog, and we were sweeping up dog hair during our stay. The ceiling fan in the living room would not work. While these things did not prevent us from having a wonderful time together, these irritants are not things that one would expect in a $6000+ rental, and not issues we have had with our other rentals.
