In 1959 the house was built by long time cattle rancher and true Florida Cracker, Quet (Pronounced “Quet”) Boyett. Alongside his wife of 60 years, Frieda Boyett, they made the house a home. The home is among several in the community of Clay Sink. Centuries and generations have raised kids, crops and livestock here. The house was recently renovated in 2022. New furniture and decor has breathed new life into this true farmhouse while keeping many of the original elements of the home. For example, On the kitchen cabinets you can see Quets cattle brand he placed there himself.
Two bedrooms with plenty of space and storage. A full bathroom in between the two, complete with shower, toilet, sink and a vanity space. The front bedroom has a California king bed and the back has an individually adjustable king size bed.
Enjoy a meal at the dining room table or a quick bite at the high top in the kitchen. The kitchen is complete with an oven and stove, sink, microwave, coffee pot and keurig. Feel free to cook and enjoy a meal where the family did so many times.
The den is a cozy and comfortable space in the house with a large couch and fireplace. Watch a movie on netflix and chat with your traveling companions in this space. You'll notice out of the back window we have a corn feeder that feeds many wild turkey, sandhill cranes and deer. At any point throughout your stay you can enjoy the sight of these animals from the comfort of the couch.
The front porch and back are very special to the home and unique to one another. The back porch provides a place to grill and gather at the picnic table for a meal or a spot to see the feeder and the backwoods. The front porch is a sanctuary to relax and unwind. Grab a coffee or tea and take a seat on the porch swing built by Quet himself. Enjoy the 10 acres of open pastures and woods, country road and giant Florida oak trees that adorn the property.
