Gem in the woods perfect for hiking and relaxing.

We loved our stay at The Southern. The property is amazing - beautiful, spacious, and wonderfully private. It's the perfect place to unplug from a busy life. The house is lovely and we immediately felt right at home. It's comfortable, spacious, and the kitchen has everything a home chef needs. We spent our mornings reading and playing guitar by the pond. Afternoons hiking at one of the many trails a short car ride away. We were sad to leave and definitely plan to return to this gem in the woods. Highly recommend.

Utterly lovely

The open and airy beautiful house was spotless, and the grounds are wonderful as is the view out of every window. We had a great visit and hope to come back soon

June at The Southern

The Southern exceeded our expectations. It’s a great property & Allison promptly respond to questions. I asked if a crock pot was available and a brand new one was on the counter waiting to be used! The night sky was amazing as well as the wildlife that allowed us to see them & share their space. The location allowed us to explore to the east, west & south easily. We are planning another vacation in Southern Illinois next year because this year was so easy.
