About the host
Hosted by Milena Blakley

I was born and raised in Germany, but life took a beautiful turn when I fell in love with a Canadian boy. His family has called the Columbia Valley home for 12 generations, and we too decided to make this special place our home. I absolutely love everything mountain life has to offer—hiking, biking, camping, and paddleboarding in the summer, and skiing and skating in the winter. I feel incredibly blessed to live in such a unique and breathtaking area, and it’s truly an honor to share this rare gem with our guests.
Why they chose this property
The island is owned by my husband’s family, and we feel so fortunate to have been able to build our home here. We love the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the island—it’s like stepping into a serene retreat far from the hustle and bustle of towns and cities. The views are breathtaking, and there’s something so grounding and calming about being surrounded by majestic mountains, untouched nature, tranquil wetlands, and abundant wildlife. It’s truly a special place, and we cherish every moment we spend on the island.
What makes this property unique
Our property is truly one-of-a-kind—it's located on its own island! Surrounded by British Columbia's largest untouched wetlands and framed by majestic mountains on every side, the setting is nothing short of spectacular. It’s a place where you can completely immerse yourself in nature’s beauty and feel a world away from it all.
