Large Private Apt w King bed near New Paltz

Relax and unwind in a spacious 800 sqft 1-bedroom apartment with brand new furniture, fully equipped kitchen, private entrance and access to a lovely 1 acre backyard with a fire-pit and outdoor furniture. Fast Wi-Fi is available inside and outside.

The house is located in a quite neighborhood, steps to Tony Williams Park with excellent biking and jogging trail, tennis & basketball courts and a playground. Short drive to New Paltz, Mohonk & Minnewaska hiking trails, swimming and rock climbing.

The apartment is located at a lower (semi-basement) level of the raised ranch house. Each room including the kitchen and bathroom has windows. My mom, who is also a co-host, lives in the Upper Level and she is available to assist as needed.

The Kitchen has a dining area with a table for 4 people. It is equipped with everything you need to cook: pots and pans, salad bowl, oven baking dish, plates, cups, utensils.
There is a full size fridge, electrical range, microwave, toaster and a French Press. We also provide ground coffee, teas, sugar, salt, spices and oatmeal.

The living room has a sofa that can sleep 1 person (unfoldable) , TV, queen size bed, work table, shelves and hangers.

The bathroom has hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and body soap.

The bedroom has a king size bed. Extra bedsheets and towels are in the drawers under the bed.

The entrance to the unit needs to be improved for first impressions. Entryway was crowded and awkward. Not enough like in living room. Could use like on wall facing TV. Unable to get local stations on TV. Overall unit was good, but could use a few upgrades as mentioned above

Extremely mediocre at best

The space is definitely not "large" or "spacious" as indicated in the listing. It's a tiny section of a basement of a house. Meaning you can hear EVERYTHING going on upstairs, including the dog walking around and barking at all hours, people talking, etc. There was also very loud ongoing banging happening for about 20 minutes, and when we told the host, she said that they dropped something while cooking. There wasn't any heat in the kitchen, so prepare to layer up if you want to spend any time in there. There was very little lighting in the living and bedrooms. The beds and couch were comfortable, but the rest of furniture (chairs, tables, etc) were rickety, uncomfortable, and not safe for children. Cheap plastic pieces of junk. The shower curtain didn't fit the shower, so the water poured out onto the floor of the bathroom every time we showered. Lastly, we had requested a later check-out time, which the host said she could not accommodate. Totally understandable. So we got ourselves packed and out of the house by 11:10 (10 minutes after check-out), at which point the host texted to say that we could have a later check-out time of 12:00. Too little too late.

Tali, I’m sorry you were disappointed with your stay, but I’m also quite shocked by your review that is full of items that are simply not true. Your review is so surreal, it feels like as you wrote a review about a different apartment, not ours. We tried to satisfy all your demands: provided welcome bottle of wine, free water, provided a baby crib, sent you local recommendations and allowed you to stay an extra hour past your check out time. We did a midstay checkin to make sure you are enjoying your stay, but you did not tell us you needed anything extra. You left the apartment in a mess and also removed any decorative objects that had a heart shape on them. I’m going one by one: 1. The size of 1 bedroom apartment downstairs is 800 sqft as per floor plan. I also mentioned this exact size in the description. 2. It is also written in the description that the apartment is located at semi-basement level of the house. 3. It is in the description that there is only 1 person lives upstairs. This person is very quite. She does not talk to herself and you would not be able to hear it if she did. 4. There is no dog living in the apartment upstairs, so there could be no dog walking or barking. 5. All furniture was bought in 2022, most of it at IKEA and some at West-elm. The chairs are not rickety and are perfectly safe. 6. We are environmentally friendly and we try not to utilize much plastic. Our kitchen is equipped with high quality utensils. 7. The shower curtain is standard and fits the shower. 8. You left the property at 11:45am, almost 1 hour past check out time and since we had other guests arriving same day, It was challenging for us to reschedule the cleaner to accommodate your late check out. Our apartment is clean, comfortable and spacious. It is not a luxury apartment. Kitchen does not have marble counter tops and the bathroom floors are not heated. This is reflected in the price. Since you are brand new to Vrbo, and your stay was your first ever using this platform, please read the description carefully before booking the space, so you can set your expectations. Also look at the photos to understand what kind of finishes the apartment has.

Marvelous

Cozy, clean & quiet place, just as pictured. The host was super nice. Responds very quickly and even leaves complimentary 🍷. I will more than l stay again in the future
