About this property
A beautiful, large home located right across the street from Lake Burton.
Mountain Rest at Lake Burton is the perfect setting to bring the whole family. Mountains, lake and hot tub! Tucked away with views of Lake Burton (seasonal); and close to LaPrade's marina (5 minutes), several awesome wineries, and numerous outdoor activities. Downtown Clayton and Helen are each 15 minutes away and the home is easily accessible to shopping and many great restaurants!
Large families and gatherings will enjoy Mountain Rest at Lake Burton for it's spaciousness and proximity to all the area offers; boating, hiking, fishing, swimming, kayaking, shopping, waterfalls, wineries and much more.
The home is 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths; 3 bedrooms have king size beds, 1 bedroom has a queen size bed and an upstairs loft/playroom has a bunk and futon couch/bed. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. The Master bedroom is located on the main level and has en suite bathroom with both a soaking tub and STEAM shower. Two other bedrooms (king beds) are located upstairs from the main level and feature a jack and jill bathroom (shower and tub).
The kitchen is updated with a double oven/range and a beautiful large refrigerator. Also provided include: keurig coffee maker; waffle maker; double toaster; and an instapot-style cooker. Right off the open-concept kitchen is your dining room with a custom-made black walnut dining table that seats 10!
Two wood-burning fireplaces are also located at Mountain Rest at Lake Burton; one is in the living room (which also includes a t.v.) and one is on the screened-in porch off the main level where you'll love having your morning coffee and evening beverage. The outdoor porch also has a t.v.
The bottom level is a finished basement; here you will find another living space with couch, t.v. and games as well as foosball table/air hockey/arcade and basketball. A separate bedroom (queen size bed) and full bathroom are also located in the basement. From downstairs you can also go out the door to a covered patio where you’ll find the hot tub and the backyard that backs up to national forest and also includes a fire pit
A two-car garage is also available and limited supply of bathing necessities (soap/toothbrush/bodywash/shampoo/conditioner/lotion) and kitchen supplies (paper towels; dishwasher pods) are also provided.

About the host
Hosted by Lauren DePaola

I'm Lauren- my husband John and I (and our two boys and dogs) love this area of Georgia and have been visiting for over 10 years now. We are thrilled to be able to have a home in the best of both worlds- the mountains and by a beautiful lake! We are equally excited to share it with others.
Why they chose this property
Mountain Rest at Lake Burton has year-round beauty and opportunities for recreation and fun. The lake provides opportunity for fishing, swimming, boating, kayaking and paddle boarding; along with the beautiful drive around the lake. You are within minutes to restaurants (North 40 Tavern and Grill, LaPrade's Marina with several options); both the town of Clayton and Helen are within 20 minutes from the home and have many options for food, fun and shopping. Oakey Mountain OHV trails are also within minutes from the home.
Great food (be sure to make a stop at North 40 Tavern and Grill to meet Kelly and enjoy Chad's AMAZING food) and beautiful wineries and distilleries abound in this area.
Although Mountain Rest at Lake Burton currently has no direct lake access, guests can use either of two nearby marinas to store boats, rent boats or fish at Moccasin Creek State Park. Two public boat ramps are also located on Lake Burton.
