Our stay was very pleasant. The rental was clean. And comfortable. James was a great host. He promptly responded to my questions. I would definitely return on my next Seattle trip

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
Not well set up
First, the host did not send check in information even after being prompted twice via email. When there was a response, I was sent a rental agreement information for a different property in a different city. I needed to get that clarified with the host, and we only received check in information as we were arriving which was unnecessarily stressful.
The owner, by the way, is a real estate agent, and clearly the property is run like a business. Kind of like a hotel room.
The house is located in a great neighborhood. No issues there. Very close to good restaurants, a grocery store and bus lines.
The house is really just the main floor-- There is an apartment in the basement from which loud bass heavy music emanated from at times, though not at night. Late night arrivals home, though, were disruptive to sleep. Loud laughter, etc. followed the arrival home from the downstairs neighbor.
There were numerous things that made the stay less than positive:
- No TP (beyond the roll that was out), no salt/pepper, no cooking oil, no skillet, no coffee filters (or “complementary” coffee or bottled water, which the printed information sheet claimed), no dish cloth, no spatula. Actually, the skillets were found in the OVEN after intending to use the oven to make toast as there is no toaster.
- fireplace was difficult to work (with no help)
- No cover on the duvet. (Does the duvet get washed after each guest?)
- No recycling containers (in Seattle??!!??)
My husband and I and our daughter rented this beautiful home. Our oldest son lives in Seattle. Our middle son and our grandson met us ( from Yokohama ) there and stayed with his brother. We were only about a mile and a half apart. The house was perfect for our needs. The back deck is gorgeous. It is a wonderful area for walking. The flowers around some houses were absolutely beautiful. We spent a day in downtown Seattle as the Japanese Contingent has not been there. We ferried to Bainbridge and hiked Deception Pass. The older children visited some great breweries and Grandma and Grandpa provided babysitting services. We had a fantastic family celebration at June Baby and I highly recommend it. The food and the service was excellent. James was fantastic about communication. I think he even arranged for the perfect weather for the time that we were there. It was a wonderful week to be together with family.
