About this property
The Yeti Den - Hot Tub & Fire Pit!
Welcome to "The Yeti Den", our cozy 2 bedroom 1 bath green cabin. Located WALKING distance to the Zoo, the Bear Mountain shuttle, the Snow Summit shuttle, coffee and donuts. Also located within minutes from the lake, fishing, hiking, biking and the "Village". Free parking for two vehicles, WiFi, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and many other amenities. This cabin is perfect for a small Yeti family or a young Yeti couple looking to get away and explore all that the Big Bear has to offer.
The space
The cabin is located in lower Moonridge and is really easy to navigate to. Parking is flat and can accommodate 2 cars with a tight squeeze. We did fit two large trucks once but that was with some magic parking skills, smaller cars are better. The indoor space is 952 sq. ft. in total. The first floor houses the living room, kitchen and bathroom. The second floor has two identical sized bedrooms.
The outdoor living area is spectacular, its fully fenced with a large deck. Market lights hang over the 4 Adirondack chairs that surround the fire pit. Also on the deck is a picnic table shaded by a large pine tree, perfect for a morning brunch. The deck passes over a seasonal creek bed and leads to the hot tub. The hot tub feels nestled and cozy by the fence providing a bit of privacy.
Other things to note
This cabin was recently upgraded and is new to Airbnb; listed October 2020. The Yeti Den features modern and rustic décor. Being that it is a mountain home please read the amenities included carefully before booking and ask as many questions as you would like. I try to keep the listing as true and accurate so there are no surprises.
Please note the following:
Hot Tub:
A brand sparkling new (December 2020) 4 person Hot Spring Beam with 19 jets. Small Stature. Big Possibilities! Spacious seating for four people featuring hydrotherapy with the incredible jet system. Imagine coming back from a long day on the mountain to the perfect relaxation spa, you can soak until your hearts content relieving all your tension...
No Air Conditioning:
AC is not common in Big Bear. We have ceiling fans in the bedrooms and the cabin is located in the shade of a few large pines. This helps keep it cooler during the day. Open those windows and feel the fresh mountain air!
Trash Service:
Common for Big Bear is the trash drop off or lack of services. We ask that the trash be taken upon departure to avoid any large creatures getting into it or the cabin.
TV:
Being in the mountains television is optional, but if needed there is a 55in LG smart TV in the living room that provides several streaming apps & a smart TV in each bedroom.
Please note that there is no cable. You will need to sign into your own account for access (don’t forget to sign out before you leave...).
Kitchen:
Want to stay away from the crowds and save some money? Or maybe you feel like showing off your culinary talents? You can at The Yeti Den, we provide a full kitchen (excluding a conventional oven and dishwasher). Available items: gas stove range, microwave, counter top toaster oven, crockpot, blender, coffee pot, tea kettle, pots/pans, utensils, plates, glassware and an outdoor propane BBQ.
Out Door Fire Pit/BBQ:
The out door fire pit/BBQ are propane, these are NOT guaranteed to be filled. However we try our best to keep them full and ready for use.
AT&T Service:
Welcome to the mountains were service is spotty! Verizon customers shouldn't have any issues, however if you have AT&T the service will go out right in front of the cabin. No worries though, with Wifi you can easily log in and use Wifi calling etc.
Linens:
There is no need to travel with your own linens, pack less! We provide towels, sheets, pillow cases and blankets. We ensure they are laundered for every single stay, our cleaning crew is fantastic!
Children are always welcome at The Yeti Den, there are a few cautions to be said. The fireplace is functional and has a screen, however can get hot and is low to the ground (in a toddlers reach). The yard is fenced and gated to protect the little ones from wondering off, however there is a seasonal creek that runs through under our deck, it is protected as much as possible but a close eye should always be kept. The stairs do not have a railing off the last 4 steps please see pics in posting for more details. All the outlets were replaced with modern child resistant outlets, meaning they are spring loaded dual pressure covers that prevent the insertion of items unless equal pressure.... (harder for a kid to stick something into them). Feel free to reach out with any additional concerns.

We try to respond to messages as fast we can however, messages after 10 P.M. pacific standard time maybe delayed until the following day unless its an emergency.

About the host
Hosted by Sara Corbett

My husband (Martin) and I live in San Diego. I work as a Financial Analyst for a local News station and my Husband is a Veteran and Military Contractor. We are an active family with two daughters who love to get away from the rush of it all. Our little green Yeti Den allows us to be surrounded by nature, free to explore the forest via hiking or snowboarding. We are happy to share our family cabin with you!

Why they chose this property
We love snowboarding and decided we wanted a place close to the resorts so we can take our kids up as often as work allows it.
What makes this property unique
I love that it's walking distance to: the Zoo, Moonridge Coffee, Dank Donuts, hiking trails, biking trails, and the free shuttles to Bear Mtn Resort and Summit (Bear Mtn is the closest).
