This newly renovated, large, 6 suite home sits on 11.5 acres of picturesque rolling southern Indiana hills, with a private swimming pool, hot tub, private tennis court, poker room, ping pong table, foosball table, and walking trail. Previous home of local NBA legend, it offers a unique experience with themed rooms and memorabilia. This perfect getaway is located only 2 miles from downtown French Lick and French Lick Casino, 10 minutes from Paoli Peaks Ski Resort, and 9 miles from scenic Patoka Lake. Surrounding area offers attractions such as zip-lining tours, cave adventures, kayaking and canoeing, horseback riding, train rides, bowling, go-cart racing, putt-putt golf, laser tag, indoor water park, multiple wineries, exotic animal wildlife park, marina on Patoka Lake with boat rentals, downhill snow skiing and tubing, fishing, and Hoosier National Forest.

French Lick stay

Overall the description and location were great. We had 8 adults and 5 children and with the 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and large pool, the house was perfect.

Family vacation

House is adequate; everything worked. Had fun in the pool and playing pickle ball. The house and property could benefit from some basic TLC. Owners were easy to work with.

Great family gathering place

The Nest was a fun property to enjoy with all ages. The amenities…pool, tennis court and basketball…made for lots of fun. A perk was all the Larry Bird memorabilia in the house since we had some basketball enthusiasts in our group. Would definitely recommend this property to kick back and just enjoy.

The Nest Review

The inside of the house was absolutely lovely. The suites were huge and accommodated our 4 families well. The kitchen was nice but the oven very small for the size of the house. Furniture and beds were very comfortable. The basketball memorabilia was very interesting to view. However, the landscaping was not kept up as there were weeds all over! The chairs near the hot tub needed to be replaced & the tennis court resurfaced. The outdoor pool and furniture were beautiful!

A lot to offer

Such a neat house with lots to offer! The swimming pool and tennis courts were perfect for all the active people in our families! The Larry Bird history inside the home was so interesting! This was a great house for a large family to gather and relax! French Lick has lots to offer for a short family get-away! We talked about coming back again!

Perfect family stay and trip

Had a wonderful and active time at this beautiful estate. The house is beautiful and well cared for with lots of amenities that went above and beyond. Had fun at the tennis court and of course the pool was wonderful. The surrounding area is gorgeous and peaceful. Even had an 8 point buck walk through the yard! Time went way too fast!

Family Vacation

Enjoyed the property, the space to spread out, the big, nice pool and the tennis court. The big pool with lots of seating around and plenty of shallow area was the biggest hit with the 6 grandkids 9yo and under. Bring your own beach towels and a bit more shade umbrellas would be nice.Tennis court was well used but could be cleaned up a bit. It was nice to have the tennis ball hopper with balls to use.Nice large table for eating and games in main gathering space. That area could use a few more comfy seating options.House could use some upkeep maintenance.

Nice Spacious House for Family

This was once a big, beautiful home on a beautiful property. It has a great history beginning with the original custom construction by owner Larry Bird. It was later converted into a boutique hotel with 6 rooms (4 suites). Today it is privately owned as an airbnb. The owner and property managers are great and very responsive. However, the home and property needs work. The concrete and brick construction of the driveway walls and pool area is deteriorating. The tennis court needs complete resurfacing. And there are some minor issues in the house with showers, etc. The pool area is great and the pool is resort size (9 feet deep in one end). Despite the issues our family had a great time in the house and pool for a week!

Lovely property

Our stay was delightful. The rooms were gorgeous, well-stocked, sparkling clean, and exceptionally comfortable. We had everything we needed including beach towels, condiments, Keurig coffee, shampoo and conditioner, extra cots, ping pong table, laundry facilities, and poker table. There was lots of information about the previous owner which was interesting to learn. We were so lucky with the weather because it was perfect. We all were thrilled with the accommodations. Thanks so much for a very memorable weekend.

Pool was a hit!

It was very convenient that every bedroom had it's own bathroom and mini-fridge ! In addition to the mini's, there were three full sized refrigerators. Very nice! There were some items that need slight repair, but nothing major. One negative is that there is no bathroom near the pool. It was a slight inconvenience to climb the steps to the house for bathroom use for the kids. The pool was ideal! Big and clean with a lot of pool toys available. We did activities around town in the mornings (caves, hiking and golfing) and spent the afternoons at the pool.
