Awesome view!!!
The house was exactly what you see in the description. It was clean, well stocked, and the beds were soooooo comfortable!! The view is amazing! They had both a charcoal grill and a Pellet grill! The pellet grill was interesting as it gave the meat a nice smoky flavor. Overall, the stay was nice and the unit was priced accordingly! I highly recommend!

About the host

Hey, we're the Collins Family from Florida: Sam, John, Katie and Kristi and we LOVE to travel (35 countries so far!). We raised our children in planes, trains and automobiles (RVs, too) and as we, and they, get older and marry, we wanted a special place in the mountains for us all to meet. So, we purchased this little cottage, gave it some love and then purchased the next one up Jin Lane (for Mom and Dad). We hope you enjoy our 'home' away from home!

Why they chose this property

Mountains, mountains and more mountains! Why not be centrally located in Franklin, North Carolina, near the Smokeys and Appalachian Trail, yet on this sweet valley road with amazing westward views and NOT a steep hill to climb to get to it. It was a 'Yes!' as soon as we saw it.

What makes this property unique

This 1940s one-room home has been added on to over time and we've been updating the home and property since we purchased it last summer. We've secured the foundation, added new flooring, updated the bathroom and kitchen and added central a/c and heating so it can be used year-round. The original owner, MASON, actually owned the entire hill behind us and the pasture in front of us but all parcels were sold upon his death. Still, to sit on the porch and listen to the birds, the creek and watch the sunset is worth it for us! We hope you enjoy the peace and quiet too!
