About this property

King George the 3rd DoWnToWn - walk to Mardi Gras - sleeps 10

What a gorgeous historic home and wonderful townhouse apartment! The rooms are large, the ceilings are tall, and the whole place is incredibly spacious. This place is a part of a triplex, but THERE ARE NO SHARED indoor spaces here. If you’re interested in booking the whole place - we have another listing where you csn book it all at once. All units have completely separate entrances and are completely inaccessible to other units.

Callaghan's Irish Pub (best BURGER ever - get the Big Mic), Washington Square Park, the Oakleigh House Museum, Hummingbird Oyster Bar, among other great restaurants and local attractions are just a walk away from this location!
BEST OF ALL the Mardi Gras parade route is just a short walk away!

This place is walking distance to a many of Mobile's historic attractions. Enjoy the newly updated (and super cute) kitchen and bathrooms, with updated floors throughout the whole place. The home was built in 1905 and the character still shines through!

The location is just the best too! Just minutes from downtown (you can even rent an electric scooter to go back and forth from here) and so close to the Mobile tunnel to take you to the beach (just 1 hr and 15 min drive to Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Pensacola and 1 hour from Dauphin Island).

We also have a fire table and outside seating on the very, southern, front porch, which makes this a great spot to enjoy the beautiful weather in Mobile (at least in the fall, winter and spring).

While the listing shows just 4 beds set up, we can sleep 10 people comfortably at this location (the 2 couches in the living room convert to incredibly comfortable large twin beds with memory foam cushions and added feather toppers for each) and there is plenty of space in the kitchen and living room for everyone to enjoy time together as well.

Sidenote: There are 3 steps to get inside from the front and back and a full flight of stairs leading up to this unit.

The neighborhood is wonderful and the street is one of the most sought after streets to live on in Mobile! Parking on the premises (in the back) is limited to just 2 cars/unit currently, though street parking is completely acceptable here.

We do allow pets at this location, but you'll need to communicate with us about your pet before booking - we just want to know the details before accepting a reservation and want to let you know our expectations as well.

We also have security cameras set up at the front and back of the exterior of the property for your safety!

Also... note that you're booking Unit 3 - if you're facing the property, it's the double doors to the right (up the stairs facing the street). Once inside the foyer, you'll go to the single door on the right with a keypad to get upstairs inside the unit.

If you're needing more space, considering renting the whole place! - feel free to reach out to us to see how we might be able to accommodate you. We have a lot of wedding parties rent here to fit everyone in!

Bridesmaids Stay
This property was the perfect place for my daughter and her bridesmaids to stay for her wedding weekend! It provided just the right set up for them to spend time and get ready together! The sleeping porch was a big hit! It was precious, clean, and the host was so pleasant to work with! Highly recommend!

Our review
Room sizes where great! Very convenient, love the historical area. Enjoyed the front porch. Somethings that I believe could use attention. There needs to be extra blankets for the beds. Not having grab rails in the shower nor grip strips on the tub, is dangerous. The 2nd bathroom has a loose toilet seat and a broken tub spout. The pull cord to the blinds in the bathroom is broke off. The lamp switch in the 2nd bedroom was broke. In the picture it shows a coffee pot, so I brought coffee n filters, then i get there and its a keurig. Wish I would of known that. With that all being said... I would come back and we loved Mobile. Thank You.

I love HOSTING! It's been so much fun creating spaces for guests to come and feel at home! Mary is our property manager and does an amazing job making sure you will have whatever you need. (Thank God for Mary!) My husband and I have 5 children so we're typically running around like chickens with heads cut off (and we wouldn't trade a thing)!

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property because we just loved the historic charm and the large live oak out front! At first, we were totally overwhelmed by all the work needed on this beauty, but it soon transformed into what it is today! We've updated almost everything in these units, and my husband even has an office here (so he's typically available should you need something specific)

What makes this property unique

There aren't many locations around Mobile better than this one! Oakleigh Historic District is one of the most sought after areas to live in Mobile for so many reasons! The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful with live oaks everywhere and some of the oldest houses in Mobile.
The 12 foot ceilings, front porch, large live oak out front, and original wood floors throughout most of the downstairs are what really got us excited about this place! I know you guys will enjoy the historic nature of this place too. It's also SUCH an amazingly perfect central location so you can't help but fall in love with George. And of course - the Mardi Gras parade route is just a short walk away!
