Really nice place to stay after the storm in the gulf coast area. Older home, but very nicely decorated and situated in a quiet neighborhood.

Misty, an older home with careful decoration and a quiet street around it is exactly the kind of calm worth landing in after a storm. Glad it gave you a restful place to reset. You are welcome back whenever the Gulf Coast calls again.

Madden, a listing that matches the photos and a host who answers quickly are the two things that take the stress out of booking, so it is good to hear both held up. The house will be ready whenever you want to come back.

Gemini, a place that stirs up childhood memories is a rare thing, and it is lovely to know the character of the house reached you that way. That nostalgic warmth is a big part of what makes staying here feel different from a standard rental. You are always welcome back.

Stay was great overall perfect for the weekend plans we had in Mobile. Looked everywhere for pans to make biscuits in the oven and did not find any. A few more items in the kitchen would be a huge help. Cool house and good stay overall.

My overall stay at this property was OK, however, there was several things that I did not like.1. Entering into the property from the back door, which was old and beginning to rot.2. You could tell no one has lived in a house for a long time. It had an old or mildew smell when you went in.3. The hot tub was nice looking but around it on the floor it was leaking and there was mildew as well. Also found trash on the inside.4. There was a pool however the pool was not clean for any one to get in it.5. I did not like the curtain separating the two bedrooms.Overall, the property fulfilled our needs, but I was expecting a lot more from the advertisement of this property. If you’re going to advertise that you have a hot tub or a pool I believe that it should be cleaned before the guest arrived there.

Our host was very accommodating. My family was staying there due to my mom’s surgery. She had to go to ICU and our host allowed us to stay past our original date. They made a hard situation easier. I really appreciated their kindness.

The house has very large, spacious bedrooms and several good living/dining spaces. This was a group of women staying for a tennis tournament in town, so we liked the space and the large bedrooms. It’s in a quiet cul-de-sac, which is nice, and we felt safe there. It was also clean and well-stocked with lots of dishes/glasses and kitchen utensils, soap and some shower toiletries, lots of towels, and a couple of laundry pods as well! The house has more wear than can be seen in the photos. Doors wouldn’t close all the way, trim was missing from counters, lights wouldn’t turn on. The nonstick pans were in rough shape. That said, it was a good value for our needs.

We checked out after one night and booked another rental because this property was not as represented. While the neighborhood was quiet, the route to the home passes through a very run-down area. The house needs major renovation: rotting baseboards, windows sealed shut, doors that wouldn't close properly, almost no natural light, and a confusing layout that felt dark and unsettling. The only guests who might truly enjoy this house are ghost hunters. Outside, the yard was poorly maintained, the pool was dirty, and there was trash around and beneath the pool deck. The power outage was beyond the owner's control, but with virtually no natural light, it left the house completely dark and without hot water, making an already poor experience even worse. This was the worst vacation rental we've stayed in, and we cannot recommend it. We did not let the host know about the issues before we checked out because we were busy visiting with my sick father. It isn't my responsibility to ensure a rental property isn't disgusting. I had more important things to worry about. Do not rent this dump.

Tennis Crew

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Retro Retreat! Our team was in town for a tennis tournament, and this charming home was the perfect base for our weekend getaway. The spacious rooms comfortably accommodated all eleven of us, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy their stay. One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub, which quickly became a cherished morning routine. Soaking in it while sipping coffee was a delightful way to start each day. The retro decor added a unique charm that made our experience even more memorable. With its convenient location and inviting atmosphere, we would definitely choose to stay here again!
