About this property

Lake Country Guest Cottage & Sauna

This 1930s fisherman cottage is tucked away and feels like you’re in the Northwoods or at your own private resort, yet is so close to it all. It is truly a recreation haven due to the proximity of lakes and rivers, as well as State and county parks. There are seasonal recreational equipment rental companies nearby. For dining, choose from many amazing restaurants downtown, within a mile drive or 15 minute walk (trail/road), or stay in to cook at home/barbecue on the gas grill. End the evening by relaxing in an Adirondack chair around the smokeless fire pit, indoor by the wood stove, or a sauna session. ***This is a very quiet community valuing relaxation; partiers would be better suited for a hotel***

-No direct lake access at the property; Lake Nagawicka’s public boat access and beach is on the opposite side of the lake (east side). The Bark River access is approximately 1 mile down the road from the cottage which is also where you may launch your own kayaks/paddle boards onto the south side of Lake Nagawicka….a few options for consideration if you are looking to get on the water.
-Cottage is approximately 760 sqft
-Living room: queen sleeper sofa, two accent chairs, lots of windows, and sliding glass pocket doors to section off from the rest of the house (privacy screen available)
-Bedroom 1: twin over full bunk, oscillating fan, pocket door
-Bedroom 2: full bed, ceiling fan, pocket door
-Fully equipped small kitchen with smaller, original retro oven, two burner cooktop on counter and large Kohler sink with disposal (no dishwasher)
-Dining room with dining table, wood stove, and small table for extra seating or workspace
-Centrally located, is the ductless heating and cooling unit (fans are provided for bedrooms and electric baseboard heaters are in all rooms)
-Bathroom: Fully renovated with tiled walk-in shower
-Deck with bistro table off back of the house
-Brand-new gas grill
-Picnic table, Adirondack chairs, and smokeless fire pit in grassy area of backyard
-Outdoor Items: yard games, roasting sticks, picnic blanket, cooler bag, beach/lake towels, beach umbrella and sand toys (for public beaches)
-Starter supply of firewood provided (more for purchase at the gas station downtown)
-Off street parking for 2 vehicles (no on street) ***Please note there is an exterior security camera that covers the parking pad area as well as the garage door.***

*This is our guest cottage and we’re so happy to make it available for others when we are not sharing it with family and friends; we live next door. We do occasionally use the blue garage and it is not available to guests. Please do not block the garage door.

Turn off the lights
Wash any used dishes and utensils.
Turn air conditioning unit off if in use. In the winter turn heat down to 60 degrees.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Departure: -Dishes washed -Take out trash/recycling (bathroom and kitchen) must be placed in the proper containers near the street upon departure.
Fire: -Fire in the fire pit or indoor fireplace/stove just be out prior to leaving (never leave a fire unattended).

Perfect for a lake country getaway

This property was absolutely perfect for a 3 night getaway for myself and my two teenage sons. The cottage itself is clean, cozy, and equipped with everything you could need. We loved that it is close to everything- lake & fishing activities, restaurants, shopping, etc. We will definitely be back!

Perfect stay for a family!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage for a family wedding we were attending nearby. It was the perfect place for us, which included my in-laws and 7 month old. Plenty of space, extremely clean and had everything we needed (they even had a pack n play!) Not to mention, the place is just beautiful and has a homey feel! We are already talking about wanting to come back and stay again, this time to take advantage of the nearby lake and cute downtown area. Do yourself a favor and book this cottage!

We enjoyed this quiet, peaceful location in a little neighborhood not far from downtown. The subtle holiday decor was a nice touch and we loved using the wood burning stove. Plenty of space for my spouse and dad to share the space. Would definitely recommend.

Perfectly appointed cabin. We had a lot a scheduled actvities and wished we could have spent more time just relaxing at the cabin. The backyard was magical and sunrises in the front room were a beautiful way to start the day.

What a wonderful little gem! Everything has been thought about in the cottage! Bed were comfortable, living space is small, but so well appointed! We were only in town for a short trip, but would love to come back. All the extras were thought about. Lotions, soaps, body washes and shampoos in the bathroom. The kitchen has everything you will need! The backyard is your own personal private oasis! We highly recommend the cottage!

perfect weekend getaway

we booked the cottage to accommodate our family for a friends wedding nearby. it was absolutely perfect! The cottage was beautifully decorated, sparkling clean, and the host Rachal thought of everything one could possibly want to feel perfectly at home. My family fell in love with the home and we had the best weekend. Rachal made sure to give awesome suggestions for activities to do, places to eat, and so much more. She has a gift for hosting.

Lovely cottage!

Lovely cottage! My family (husband + toddler) and my parents all stayed here on our trip to Holy Hill. Check in was a breeze and everything was clean. Rachel was helpful and responsive to messages. There was a binder with recommendations for food, etc., which we found helpful, especially when we decided last minute we didn't want to cook! It is in a nice area and near a cute downtown. The pull out couch in the living room was comfortable to sleep on, which was great. All of us enjoyed our trip, and if we are ever back in the area we will definitely stay here again!

Perfection in Delafield

The title says it all! Everything about this place was amazing. My dad and I are back in Wisconsin after 20 years for a family reunion & this was the perfect place to start our trip. The cottage is immaculate and wonderfully updated (air conditioning!) and is a great location just up the road from downtown Delafield. Rachel was incredibly responsive and flexible, including allowing a late check out which we really needed. 10 stars! Also check out the Bicycle Doctor in Dousman for bike rentals if that’s your thing. They are right on the trail and also incredibly helpful and awesome.

This property is special to us, as it is one of the small number of quintessential Lake Country cottages left and it is in an amazing location. We rely on our guests to properly care for this space in order to keep cleaning fees low- so we may spend money for sanitizing, laundering, and general turn-over. All we expect is that you wash your dishes and take out the trash.
