Beautiful area! Some issues that could easily be fixed
This property is in a beautiful area near the Eno River, and it's at the end of a road with only a few others houses. It was very quiet and peaceful during our stay. We walked to the river one day - saw a bunch of turtles, and some deer. The hot tub is really nice. The king bed was very comfortable. The host gave several restaurant suggestions, and we loved all 3 that we tried: Mezcalito, Pie Pushers, and Bull City Burger and Brewery. Just a few things that could make this place even better: - We did not realize we were staying in 1/2 of a house until we arrived. There was a locked door between our part and the rest of the building. No one was in the other half while we were there, but it was unexpected. Especially since all the VRBO commercials I've seen make a point to say that you get the whole house when you stay at one of their properties. - There was a security camera inside the living area. We thought this was strange, and my husband covered it with a towel while we were there. Outside cameras are understandable, but we didn't want to be watched inside. The host told us it was not turned on and that it was mentioned in the listing, but I did not see it. Maybe in the fine print? - The biggie though was that the thermostat control was in the half of the house that we could not access. We asked the host about this also and were told it was set to either 75 or 77. I know it's a first world problem, but that was not a comfortable temperature for us during a warm time in April. There was a ceiling fan in the living room but not in the bedrooms, so sleeping was a little difficult.
Stayed 3 nights in Apr 2023
