Clean but cluttered

This property was very clean on the surface but owner’s personal items filled all closets, bathroom cabinets and freezer, all seemed very cluttered. We felt like we were intruding in someone’s personal space. The beds and pillows were very, very firm and the window coverings were extremely sheer so we were awake at sunrise.

Hello Kim, I am sorry you feel this way. As I mentioned in the “welcome binder” at the entrance, it is my house. I just have one walking closet used with my clothes but the rest of them and the extra rack left in the bedroom are for the guests to use. I received a lot of compliments about my house to be warm and cozy since it is my house opened to VRBO sometimes.

Ava Maria- Family visit to see our son

The property was clean ( however upon entering smelled a dog like scent- air fresheners were in place to help with smell and didn’t smell it again during our stay) We felt as though the property wasn’t really a VRBO - someone’s home with lots of “do not open doors” etc and , which we expect for areas/closets to be owners private items but felt uneasy so didn’t use any of the kitchen items expect for coffee makes ,rules were sitting on entry table with one of them stating us to “limit talk with neighbors” very odd to us, wet sheets in washer so we moved to dryer and there were other dirty sheets in the hamper. Wasn’t expecting to do “housework “ on my vacation. We purchased more toilet paper as there was only a small amount left on roll in one of the two bathrooms. Also, one of owners car in driveway and this limited us to find in alternative parking ( down the street entrance) this was not stated in the review of property. The roads are narrow so no street parking allowed in this development. In the kitchen area there were foods items to “purchase” with price list. Never seen this is our previous stays at VRBO properties. We didn’t touch or use these items. There is a Publix in this development . We all were on our toes to be very mindful of the property so we we’re totally relaxed with the home but we always are very mindful of being good guests in someone else’s home.The bright side we were happy that the property was very close to where our son works within the Ava Maria development that was the highlight for us!

Hi Kathy, I am so sorry for your experience and the way you handled this. I was available at all the time if you need my cleaning service to remove the sheets from the dryer. About the dog smell refresher, I will tell her to use another type of it such more flower smell. In terms of the items we left on the counter for guests to purchase if they need them in case the supermarket is closed and they are in the middle of the movie with the desired of sweet candies. I offered the guests the free wine with candies and two crystal glasses at the entrance door to welcome to my new house. Thank you for taking the time to review my bungalow, I will take all your comments so serious.
