Stay in your own house in the jungle, just up the road from the beach! This 5000-ft2 house (500 m2) will actually fit two families, a group of 15 friends, or several couples who want to enjoy a jungle holiday together. Nestled deep in a private tropical jungle setting but located a few minutes from the beach, the house enjoys a fully-forested lot size of 14 acres (5.5 hectares), ensuring privacy, tranquility, and plenty of opportunities to view many species of toucans, hummingbirds, and butterflies.

To say that the property is spacious is an understatement. While outside, relax by the pool while breathing in the ocean air. Explore countless kilometres of jungle hiking from the doorstep. Observe the toucans bouncing in the trees. Count the hummingbirds in the butterfly garden.

This is an open-air tropical house. The great room, dining area, bedrooms, and balconies provide privacy while making you feel that you are still outside in the beautiful Costa Rican rainforest. While a few windows have glass, most windows are screened only, and they always allow the jungle and ocean breezes to fill the rooms.

Amazing place

Five of us stayed for five nights. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The home owner supplied us with detailed instructions to get to the house and the property manager was quick to answer all of our questions.It really is a nice secluded property but close to everything we needed. Would stay again. Also, we awoke every morning to the sound of toucans in the trees.

This is a spectacular setting, and lives up to the pictures. It is hard to find, however and needs better signage. The pool is really nice. The open concept of the home was great for our family. We enjoyed the four king bed suites. We loved the views. The outdoor grill worked well. The kitchen needs upgrading to match the beautiful home. We spent Christmas here and are glad we did. The only thing we would have wished for was the chef recommended by the host to follow through on his plans. He bailed on us the day before our arrival. The closest grocery store is about 20 minutes away.

Beautiful Costa Rican retreat

Loved every minute of being here! Beautiful views all around! The main part of the house is completely opened to outside! Which we loved. We felt very safe at all times! We heard monkeys and saw a toucan. Tons of butterflies and hummingbirds flying all around! Dennis the property manager was very helpful and always available! Thanks for the stay and we definitely recommend going to Costa Rica and staying at this beautiful house!

The guest booked for two people but arrived with a significantly larger group, contrary to the reservation details, pricing structure, and house rules. Communication became difficult when this issue was raised with the guest. During the stay, there were multiple complaints regarding appliances, utilities, and linens. In each case, technicians or staff were sent promptly, and in most cases, no functional issues were identified. Despite the fact that the guest had chosen non-refundable rental terms, the guest later requested to cancel the reservation after check-in and sought a refund, stating they had found alternate accommodations in the same area. Based on this experience, I would not host this guest again.

My wife, children, and I have travelled around the world, having collectively visited around 50 countries, and out of all of them, we chose Costa Rica as the place to invest in a tropical holiday home of our own. Costa Rica is friendly, stable, safe, and stunningly beautiful. We enjoy spending vacation time at our Costa Rican house, and we enjoy sharing the house with others when we're back at home in Canada.

Why they chose this property

This home has it all. It's located a few minutes from the most beautiful wild beaches one can imagine. It's very private, located within a density forested jungle setting with several acres of property; yet it's also only a few minutes' drive into town, where one can find all amenities one could want: restaurants, stores, and surf shops. The local people are very friendly and helpful. The house has an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean, and throughout the day, we are constantly visited by toucans, hummingbirds, and butterflies. Large enough to easily accommodate two or three families at the same time, this house is ideal for entertaining family and friends.

What makes this property unique

The house features high-speed internet throughout the house, rancho, and pool area. The house is located 2.5 hours' driving distance from SJO airport in San Jose.

Important: due to steep grades and rough terrain, please be aware that a 4x4 vehicle is required to ascend the road from the property. A 2-wheel drive vehicle is not sufficient.
